What Living in the Third World Taught Me About The Green World

Water You Doing?
I have had some great experiences in my life thus far; living in a hut on a Mayan Indian reservation in the Belizian rain forest, teaching English to 130 first graders in China, traveling through South East Asia, and [...]
The answer to that question is yes and this is why you should care ….
Normally I try to avoid things like this and some of you are probably asking why is he writing about Yung Berg of all people ? — But hey this is afterall… “The Road Less Traveled.”

For those that read my post earlier this week entitled “Clown - Where’s My Money?” I have to apologize. There are somethings we do and say in the heat of the moment that are not to be broadcasted to the world because it is in “poor taste” and can come off immature and spiteful. So [...]
Note: This is just a preview, I didn’t plan on kicking off my Road Less Traveled with this but I thought I would share something that I am going through…. — The Road Less Traveled — My new blog kicks off late next week, September 5th ! –
So you think I should change who I am. Trying to mold me into a different man. What you see ain’t really me. They say I straddle the fence. Should I sacrifice who I am. Every song sounds the same. Nobody Trying to Make A Change. Just like puppets on a string. They Just Want [...]
Over one year ago (March, 2007 to be exact) I discovered an online book seller that made me really REALLY excited. It combined two of my favorite things into one store: CHEAP and BOOKS. I happily browsed the selections at www.BookCloseouts.com and selected two huge lift-the-flap books to keep Jojo occupied an upcoming airplane trip (remember my Must-Have Travel Diversions for Children Aged 2-5?).
By Trey Pennewell (c) 2008 the Phantom Writers The vast majority of internet users will use a search engine occasionally, if not frequently. Search engines are routinely included in browsers, no matter if you use Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, Opera, or Netscape, with the intent of saving the user time. It may seem odd to talk about saving time on the internet. Thinking back t
We met up with Dick and Carole at Island perk for coffee this morning and to figure out what to do with our sunny Saturday. We all decided to take "The Road Less Traveled" and head north as far as Belize Legacy for a drink and a dip in the pool.It was a fun ride twisting and turning our way north - Paul and I had never been that far by land before. When we got back to town we went our separate ways
Okay, not really but I feel like I have with all of the Apostille and Certifications I have completed for clients. These documents have gone to Mexico, France, Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil, United Arab Emirates, Switzerland, Russia, Poland, India, Argentina and Taiwan.Even though I haven't had the opportunity to journey to all of these exotic locations I travel vicariously through my clients. Whether you want to hit the open road to find yourself or lose yourself along the way, you don't have to sacrifice creature comforts or go off into the jungle to be a green traveler. All you need is a desire to preserve and protect the environment of the place you're visiting -- and it's easier than you might think. Being a friend to the environment as you hit the road this summer is easier than
When I first saw this site I thought 'Ha, they are treating countries like Pokemon!'. Now I am slamming my head against my desk repeatedly. I say we join the race. Preferably whilst solving crimes with my monkey sidekick but then again, being over 600 countries behind, should probably just get moving.
Now that I have explained the different types of image metadata there is one more question to answer: how does this image metadata end up in your image files? This article will explain the road very frequently traveled by image metadata.
What was supposed to be a quickish trip to drop off my nephew and see some bloggity friends became a trip fraught with difficulty and awfulness due to a broken down car. I had to drive 30 miles an hour on the freeway and even though I had my hazard lights on I was screamed [...]

Manila was a new place to me. It was not that amusing, but still my eyes enjoyed looking at the unfamiliar places and sceneries. We were fetched by a coaster and met the people that will guide us for the rest of the week--Kuya Macky, Kuya Mac-mac, Sir Ed and our driver, Kuya Morris (not sure of the name). The first place that I have taken picture during the travel was the baywalk. It was not the baywalk it used to be after the assumption of Mayor Lim. It has no more stores and booths and night parties as explained by the tourist guide. The travel was smooth, it was not that fast. I saw the beauty of the buildings but also witnessed the city's dirtiness. I even told myself, Davao is far better than this place. We eventually reached the NLEX tollgate. It is a private road, thus, we paid for
Sometimes you can really get tired of a saying. In this case, the title combined with the pictures says it all.
This weekend we were enjoying the weather and my hubby treated me to a tour of a street I hadn’t been on much. With me having the camera at the [...]

A rebellion is brewing in this latest episode of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA. Starbuck is being questioned by her team and we can only wonder why. This season is a little slow for me. I wish they would go ahead and start revealing more about the mystery behind the Final Five and also if Starbuck is one [...]

I love poetries, I used to write a few, and I have a collection of my favourite poems too. This one in particular is one of my favourites! I want to have each every favourite of mine in this blog, so that one day, I could go through them and will never loose them...ROAD LESS TRAVELED Two roads diverged in a yellow wood And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth Then took the other as just as fair And having perhaps the better claim Because it was grassy and wanted wear Though as for that, the passing there Had worn them really about the same And both that morning equally l
The nice aspects of African customs and traditions we are familiar with to one degree or another. In fact state media often speak about the good aspects to the point of overdoing it. So my highlights here tend towards the critical aspects.Smuggling goes everywhere. Fuels are one, for instance. They come in all sorts of containers: Jerry cans, soda bottles. The author describes the phenomenon as "shortage compensated by excesses everywhere. Quality and reason are luxury when these stomach cries." What he meant was that there is fuel in excess in the major cities and towns, with shortages in peripheral areas prompting smuggling.
Many writers think that only the quality of their writing matters in creating a best seller. But applying the 2,000 percent solution process can exponentially expand their readership beyond what writing alone can accomplish. This article describes how anyone can become a business book writer who achieves the same reading levels as those with best [...]
I have to say that it was heartbreaking to leave my lovely apartment in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. Not only did I have a stable job with generous vacation time (in publishing, no less!), dishes that matched, a closet full of swank outfits - in short, all the things one is supposed to have – but I was even surrounded by like-minded liberal types who shared many of my own values. Oddly, however, I was dissatisfied and decided in favor of a drastic change.

Aside from the graduation scheduled on October 12, Friday, eight Brothers (include me, please :)) had just the graduation ceremony at Eucharistiana Center this afternoon., we may call it Closing Ceremony, and yet the same, right? For 11 days of lecture and training with the Eucharistiana Center, in cooperation with Marist Asia-Pacific Center, we were able to finish it happily with many experiences and learning to share to other people. What we learned from Eucharistiana would be different. In this Institution, we experienced dealing with special children with special needs. I thought I was lucky enough that I can take care of myself. But here are the children with down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism, and mental retardation who taught us to be courageous and share life to others. It was not us, or let us say me, who taught them or be with them. They were the ones who journeyed with me for many days. What would you feel if a person who is bounded by the wheelchair will teach you how
Naomi Wolf of The Guardian wrote this article in April 2007. You must read it and pass it on to every American you know.In the article, she describes ten steps that have been taken by governments in the past that shifted from a democracy to a fascist dictatorship. Here are the 10 criteria and a quick review of how our country currently fits. (Although I'm doing this summary, you really must read her article). This is why we need to act now:1) A terrifying internal and external enemy is invokedWe must fear "terrorists" and "enemy combatants".We are told that they are in our country plotting to kill us. They are in the Middle East plotting to kill us. They are in Europe plotting to kill us.We must give the Bush administration unprecedented power to defeat these unprecedented enemies.2) A prison system is created outside the rule of law. We have secret prisons in Iraq and Afghanistan and, of course, Guantanamo Bay.Those are just the one's we know about.3) A "thug caste" is created to sc
There is a path before me. It bends a bit as I look forward, keeping me from clearly seeing what lurks beyond the present. I can just barely make out what looks like a fork in the road, but I’m uncertain. It could simply be a sharp turn that misleads my sight with a spiritual illusion.
A braver person would forge ahead excited to be faced with new possibilities and choices. A more adventurous person would anticipate the road less traveled with an open heart and an open mind. A more level-headed person would retrace steps and solidify plans before striking back out with confidence. I stand in the path, afraid to move forward and afraid to turn back.
That’s me…standing in the middle of the road. As I look ahead, I know God has a path for me to follow, however, I find myself frozen in fear that I will not choose His way. It is not because I prefer another destination or a more scenic route, I simply find my own judgment that untrustworthy.
You see, once upon my recent l
In 2006, the number of Chinese tourists who traveled abroad reached 34.52 million, a record high in history. From January to March of this year, the number already reached 9.7 million, 14.5% higher than in the same period last year.
The Earth rotates on its axis once every 24 hours. Which means in one day, you travel roughly the circumference of our planet (unless you live closer to the poles than to the equator, which I don’t).
Find your latitude position (you can use the GeoCoder to find it). This is the angle made from the equatorial plane to your current location (the equator has a latitude of 0 degrees, the north pole has a latitude of 90 degrees, etc.). Using simple geometry, you can find how far away from the Earth’s axis you are. This is important, because the farther away from the Earth’s axis you are, the bigger the circle you make as the Earth rotates, and the farther you’ve traveled. In my case, it’s about 38 degrees.
Subtract this value from 90. In my case, it’s 90-38=52.
Using a calculator, take the sine of this value. In my case, it’s about 0.78801. (Make sure your calculator is in degree mode, not radian mode).
Multiply this value by the Earth’s radi
“For me, a landscape does not exist in its own right, since its appearance changes at every moment; but the surrounding atmosphere brings it to life - the light and the air which vary continually. For me, it is only the surrounding atmosphere which gives subjects their true value.” ~Claude MonetI found that quote today after making the piece above, and I fell in love with it. I have been blogging absolutely boring things lately, so I figured today, I would try to force some funny outta me, let me know if it works..lol.*insert funny belly laughing paragraph here*Ok...I thought about it...just couldn't do it. nothing funny is really happening these days. Got too much on my mind for all that. Until the sun rises again folks...Seize the night!
