      Astrophotography for beginners: Star trails

I didn’t have a telescope, a mount or any other equipment. I had just a Canon 3000N camera and kit lens. Many of you would say that with this equipment astrophotograhy is just [...]

Different kinds of mountain bikes for different trails.
This article is about how can a bicycle be made more strong that can withstand the obstacles and the tough path that comes across in the track. Mountain bikes are the most strong and rugged bicycles. These bicycles are supposed to be ridden on the pebbled and steep inclines, dirt tracks and also through the hairpin bends. Cyclists drive very rarely on the mountain roads, which are paved. Many of the cyclists like using their mountain bikes on the unpaved and narrow tracks. This would result in a more tear and wear, which force the manufacturers of the cycle to come up with bikes that are sturdier. You therefore can find bikes that have bigger and fatter tires that are made from strong rubber. This allows the cyclist for a increased traction and also gives a free movement of the bicycle on

According to a new Zogby Interactive poll Hillary Clinton looses to the top 5 Republican candidates nationally in head to head polls. John Edwards and Barack Obama however, still had leads over all Republicans in those same head to head match ups. The once “presumptive nominee” for the Democratic party is showing yet another weakness in her bid for the White House and that is her possible inability to win in a general election. One thing that Iowa and New Hampshire voters love to do is to pick someone based on electability. Democratic voters in these states tend to choose not only based on who they like the most bu

Hillary Clinton Trails Five Republicans in the Latest Head to Head Poll
According to this Reuters story Hillary Clinton now trails the top five Republican candidates in a hypothetical general election. She even trails Mike Huckabee. The Zogby poll has her trailing all five candidates by a slim margin, three to five percent, but show a drop in support as recently she was ahead in all general election polls.  To make matters worse for Senator Clinton is the fact that the same polls show Obama and Edwards beating any Republican in a general election. To be honest, I still don’t understand how Edwards is a viable candidate, but that is what the poll shows. This could be a real problem for Clinton because her likability ratings have always been real low and there has always been concern on the left that she will be unelectable because of this. Democrats, who are so anxious to get back into power could actually see this as a problem also and jump ship to a candidate they feel can beat the Republican candidate.  While I don’t put allot of stock in

      Walking Trails
Since we are kinda new in Florida, on Sunday we decide to look for some alligators so we when to a place that someone recommend to my husband, it is call Loxahatchee  National Wildlife Refuge, and for only 5 dlls per car, you can get inside and walk the trails, see the nature and find some crocs. I thought that was amazing, even when we really not prepare cause to be honest we are not use to do much, you can pack some snack and drinks or water, take a hat or umbrella and just enjoy it. The downside is that, and I am embarrassed to say it, I am in lousy shape. Even my husband did better, that suck. He say that we probably we will do a couple of Sundays like this so hopefully I will get in better shape.

      Portland Trails National Inventory Numbers
Okay, Portland’s housing inventory is up… but at least it’s not Los Angeles or Chicago.Yes, Portland has 16,000 homes for sale. Los Angeles, on the other hand, has more than 100,000 properties on the market and Chicago more than 80,000.A new report by ZipRealty shows that big cities not only have higher inventories, but a trend towards price reductions. In eight of the top 10 U.S. cities with the biggest housing inventories, at least 40 percent of the homes that are listed have reduced their prices. Tales from Trails: Britain's End to End Walk
Photo by angryhaggis on FlickrOne site that has been taking up way too much of my time is Hiking Blogs, a directory of sorts for, well, hiking blogs. The site has a system for rating the quality of the blogs listed, and the current top 20 blogs can be found under the Top 20 category. I've been going through several of the blogs, starting with ones focusing on hiking in the United Kingdom.Although it technically isn't a blog, one of the websites that caught my interest is My Long Walk, about Daryl May's experience hiking from Land's End to John o'Groats in Britain. A 63 year old American, Mr. May grew up in Britain, and this was a chance for him to see how it had changed since his youth. He shares his thoughts in 56 journal entries, one for each day of his walk.Another good site about the End to End walk is Walking Land's End to John o'Groats with Mark Moxon. It includes a journal of the experience as well as tips and facts about the walk. For book lovers, When I Walk, I

      Trails of Light
Trails of moth circling around a sodium vapor lamp. I never expected to photograph these moths, I was interested in photographing the beam of light and set my camera on a 2.5 sec exposure. Interestingly the movements of the moth was captured by the camera, and gave rise to the trails.

      Mountain Bike Trails
By: James GunaseelanChoosing the right mountain bike trails can be quite a challenge especially if you are still a beginner. Note mountain biking is a physically demanding sport and you need to have the right amount of strength and stamina to conquer specific types of mountain bike trails. If you are still a beginner, do not overestimate your capacity to negotiate mountain bike trails. There is really no point risking some serious injuries when negotiating a mountain bike trail, so be very careful in choosing one. There are plenty of mountain bike trails that are suitable for beginners. Forget about those difficult trails that end up at the top of the mountain. You can tackle those types of trails later when you have gained enough experience in the field. To stay on the safe side, choose a trail that loops back to your starting point. Now, dont think that these types of trails are too easy or not challenging enough for you. There are plenty of looping trails that pose great challenges

Pixie stands for the ferrier and vet. She is very sound, even a child could ride her. Pixie clips, loads, bathes and is very easy to catch. She has 2007 coggins on her.

13 year old QH gelding, 14.2 hands, good on trails
Bubba is a 13 yr., 14.2 hand QH gelding who has been shown in Beginner walk trot and other huntseat classes by a child. He's a sweet boy but when we tried jumping with him he was a little spooky about it and didn't like it. His owner now owns a horse that loves to jump, but they can't keep two horses. Bubba is sound, no vices, great on the flat and on trails. Easy keeper, gets along well with other horses. Would perhaps be good at a camp or lesson horse as long as jumping wasn't involved. Will consider lease with option to purchase. Rides English and Western. Was shown at Rolling Hills Saddle Club and won numerous ribbons in the beginner ring for his 8 year old rider. Also shown for 2 years at Rivermont Farm shows.

      Mulu's Trek and Trails - Part 2
Ok, to finish off my writings on Mulu, here are the rest of the information with regards to trails and attraction spots. The Pinnacles:Mulu’s famous Pinnacles, which are a mid-way up the slopes of Gunung Api, consist a series of 45 meters high, razor-sharp limestone spikes that tower above the surrounding vegetation. The trek to view them is one of the most popular in the park, yet it is tough and challenging as the trail itself is very steep and requires a certain level of fitness. The Headhunter's Trail:The Headhunter's Trail is a great way of entering or leaving Gunung Mulu National Park. The trek is organised by travel operators. It combines upriver travel, jungle trekking and an overnight stay at an Iban longhouse. The trail itself follows the route taken by Kayan headhunting parties who paddled up the Melinau River to the Melinau Gorge. From there, they dragged their longboats through the forest for 3 km until they reached the banks of the Terikan River, where they launched hea

      Mulu's Trek and Trails - Part 1
Mulu has three adventure treks, all of which require a certain level of physical fitness. You need basic camping gear, as it is useful if you are planning to stay overnight in the jungle base camps. Trekkers must be accompanied by official park guides. Most tour operators can assist with travel arrangements for these treks and also can supply any necessary equipment and food.Deer Cave & Lang's Cave:You can reach the Deer Cave by following a three kilometers plankwalk path where you will pass through peat swamp, alluvial flats and limestone outcrops including some superb rainforest, jungle streams and an ancient Penan burial cave.Upon reaching the cave entrance, there is no doubt that you are about to enter the largest cave passage in the world. The cave is simply huge, over 2 kilometers in length and not less than 90 meters high and wide. The main chamber, which is partially lit by sunlight, is 174 meters wide and 122 meters high. Deer used to shelter at this cave and this explains wh
