Do You Use Trackbacks As Part of Your Link Building Campaign?
By Kerrin Hardy We all know that your blog’s ranking in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages) is dependent on both on-page and off-page SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) techniques. The on-page techniques include things like the use of the H1 tag and keyword density. Each search engine’s closely guarded ranking algorithm places a different weight on [...]

Backlinks e Trackbacks no Blogger (Parte 5)

Why Trackbacks are Useful For Blogs
This week we're going to look at trackbacks - what they are, how they work, why they're important to blog traffic and how to get more. After you've read this article you'll know just about everything you need to know about the subject. What are trackbacks? The concept of trackbacks is a bit hard to explain so we'll use an example. Let's say you see a great blog post on another person's blog

      I Miss Your Trackbacks.
Seriously. I’m missing them. For some time, there’s been some kind of glitch in the WordPress world, and many of us haven’t been seeing our trackbacks (links from other blogs when people link to our pages) in our stats. Sniff. Sniff. SNIFF. In the help forums available here at WordPress for WordPress users, it’s been a topic of discussion and the consensus seems to be that it’s some kind of Google snafu. (Snafu being a terribly technical word that’s so technical even all your techie people out there won’t understand it… just me… ’cause I am theee most technical person on a WordPress.com blog.) The end result though, is that trackbacks from all of you wonderful people who may have linked to a fracas page, are sporadic at best and that means I don’t always know if you’re linking to me and if there’s something at your blog I should see or respond to. I think I may try Technorati, and see if I can call up

How to manually install Haloscan comments and trackbacks (for customized templates)
Haloscan provide an excellent commenting and trackback service for bloggers. While Blogger blogs are supported by this system, the installation wizard will not work for customized templates, even those which have a few lines of Javascript included! Haloscan commenting and trackbacks do work in customized templates, but you will need to install the nescessary code manually. Unfortunately, Haloscan do not provide any support (yet) for manual installation of commenting and trackbacks in Blogger templates. So here is a tutorial of how you can manually install Haloscan's commenting and trackback features in your own Blogger templates. Please note: this is a tutorial for installing both Haloscan commenting and trackback functions in your Blogger template. If you wish to only install Haloscan trackbacks (as I have done in this blog), please take a look at this post instead. Here is a tried and tested method for installing Haloscan commenting and trackback features in your blog. Explain Trackbacks with BlogCFC to Me
I have always had trackbacks disabled on my blog.  just didn't seem worth the spam hassle, and honestly I didn't really understand how to do it so why bother?  Well a friend is pushing me to enable them and so I thought I would give it a try, but now I want to actually trackback a post for someone else and I have no clue.  I have tried many different things, but nothing seems to actually show my trackback on their blog.  I think I am missing something fundamental.  Can someone set me strait?  If I want to do a trackback to someone else's blog how do I do that?  I know people can do it to mine since I got those in the past when I had it turned on.

      understanding the concept of trackbacks
ok, so i’m usually really good at understanding the latest technology concepts, why is is that i don’t get the concept of a trackback in a blog???? so here’s me testing this live. STEP 1: I’m surfing around, and I find something really interesting on someone’s website, and I want to write about it in my own blog. STEP 2: I go to my own blog right here and write something like I’m doing now: “hey! you guys should read this great post called “Numbers Declining” on my friend’s blog: http://www.derekandsonja.ca/blog/?p=32“. Note: The URL I’m giving here is the post’s unique link, also known as a permalink. STEP 3: Before I submit this post (I leave the window open), in a separate window, I go back to my friend’s site, find that post, and click on the “Trackback” link that resides right under each individual post. The Trackback URL is different from the post’s permalink URL listed above, ge

How to install Haloscan trackbacks in Blogger templates
Unfortunately, Blogger chose not to include trackbacks in their new interface which can make it difficult for bloggers who want to cross reference their posts with other blogs. But luckily, there is a work-around as I mentioned in a previous post: installing Haloscan trackbacks in your blogger template.Haloscan offer a commenting and trackback system which you can easily install in Blogger templates using their installation wizard. However, if you use this option, you also lose the ability to make and show comments made using Blogger's comment interface. For many of you, this may not be a problem, in which case go ahead and use Haloscan's installation wizard, which is the easiest method by far of installing trackbacks to your blogspot blog. You can even watch a video tutorial of this method here. However, I prefer to keep Blogger's comment system and instead only use Haloscan's trackback function in my posts. There is some support for this in Haloscans forums and help files, but I'

What are Trackbacks? How do I use them?
Trackbacks are a way of telling another blogger that you have found their post useful, and have made a post of your own which continues the discussion. So, rather than include a comment in the other's blog, you can include an excerpt of your own post with a link to the whole thing. This way people can read your own perspective on the subject. So, how do I use trackbacks?Well, in order for a trackback to work, both blogs must have the trackback feature installed. You can usually tell when another blog has the trackback feature enabled, as there will be a link beneath their post (usually near the "comments" section) which says "Blog this" or "Trackback URL".To send a trackback, you will need to use the post's designated trackback URL, otherwise your trackback will not be sent and won't feature in the trackbacks section. When you want to send a trackback notification to someone's post, you'll usually do this by inserting their trackback URL somewhere in your posting page which will sen

      Dofollow Trackbacks Plugin
DoFollow is the latest way to spread link love to your readers and it is indeed growing rapidly. At first, I haven ‘t given much attention to the dofollow movement since eventhough you have spam blockers like Akisment installed, people can still spam your posts by leaving meaningful comments just to get backlinks. I am against this. This is why I have created the Dofollow Trackbacks plugin to share your link love only with the people who has found your post valuable enough to link it on their blog. more info and download.... Get Traffic with Trackbacks
There are a lot of good reasons why you should link to other posts that you find helpful or that you get your information from. Linking is a big part of being a blogger, so help others by linking to their posts! You help your readers too, when you link to relevant posts. That way they can read on and learn more. But wait, that’s not all! When you link to another person’s post inside your post, it creates a link back to you, or a trackback (can also be called a pingback). Up until I read Kevin’s helpful post, I did not really understand what trackbacks were, but now I’m taking full advantage of them! Some others who blogged about trackbacks were Stephen Welton, Dylan Kingsberry, and Leroy Brown. They’re all getting in on the pros of trackbacks! If you don’t know what a trackback/pingback is, it is basically when you are writing a post, you link to another person’s post in yours. Then on their post page, if they haven’t turned trackbacks of

      Trackbacks in New Blogger.
Trackbacks are not implemented by Blogger which uses backlinks instead. See Pinging Simplified. Backlinks appear beneath your blog posts when someone mentions the permalink of your post on their blog. Permalinks are permanent links/URLs of your posts. For more information on permalinks see Linking to Another Article. To implement Trackbacks in Blogger you have to use another tool..........

      Trackbacks
We are sorry to say that due to some tiny minded prat thinking it's fun to post over 200 trackback to drug sites, we have removed the trackback option from the blog. Sorry to all those legitimate users of the trackback option, but those tiny minded wasters have spoiled it for everyone else!

The Linkback system - like Trackbacks, but better
“The whole idea behind the Linkback system is to get a nice, high-level view of what sites are linking to you, and to display them to the website visitors with little blurbs, just like Trackbacks.” - but Trackbacks suffer from spamming and compatibility issues. The Linkback system works way better. Has automatic Digg buttons too! read more | digg story general general
