Years ago you wouldnt dare drive anywhere without a spare tire. Back in the 50s when I first started to drive you needed a couple of sets of tires on hand. Summer tires and winter tires and, if you got 25,000 miles out of them you were lucky. Back in the early years of the automobile if you could get 50 miles without a flat tire it was a mile stone. Cars had spare tires and rims on both sides of t
“Fast flux” refers to the practice of hosting malicious services on a large number of compromised computers, while using highly dynamic DNS resource records to direct traffic between those “bot net drones”.

I was amazed to read the other day that thousands of people in the UK are producing their own biodiesel fuel for their cars. The incredible thing is that they are using waste vegetable oil, which would have been thrown out anyway, and it is costing only 15p per litre, as opposed to at least 1.25 UK pounds sterling that 'normal' fuel costs! If you have to buy the oil, then it will go up to 45p a li
How many times have you been asked online to provide your personal information, such as your name, number and e-mail address? If you are like me, thousands of times, almost everyday. Each time you do it too, you have this aching feeling in your stomach, because you know you are about to get about a thousand spam e-mails now.So, what are you supposed to do? Give them a fake e-mail address? Perhaps, but what if they require verification. You know, they send you an e-mail and you have to open it up and click on some link. What are you supposed to do then?I'll tell you what I do, I go to a little website called 10 Minute Mail. The name says it all, they give you an e-mail address that is literally only good for 10 minutes. If you need additional time, there is a link that resets the timer. Aft
I’m amazed at the number of fashion experts who come on TV saying how cheap clothing is these days and that it’s so cheap you can simply buy something for one season and simply throw it away. This is simply terrible advice. On one hand buying fairly traded fashion items made from organic cotton is [...]
Oh our Mother the Earth,
oh our Father the Sky,
Your children are we, and with tired backs
We bring you the gifts that you love.
Then weave for us a garment of brightness.
May the wrap be the bright light of morning;
May the fringes be the falling rain;
May the borders be the standing rainbow.
Thus weave for us a garment [...]
.PEOPLE THROW AWAY SANITARY PADS, I THROW AWAY UNDERWEARS!I'm not too sure how many girls/women that are menstruating did this, but I'm pretty sure I did this quite often in my secondary school days.This is a clean underwear, sorry but I have nothing more interesting of a panty with stain to show you, so let's just make do with tat & start using imagination.I started menstruating when I was 12 yrs old. All this talk of home organization and you'd think I was pretty amazing with the boxes and bins but you know I have those things I just can't bear to throw away. Normally if I don't use something within six months it's history but there are a few dark corners of the house where things are stashed--JUST in case. You never know . . . because if the world ends tomorrow and there's famine throughout the land I'm gonna need those Taco Bell sauce packets.1. Old sheets and towels. We got a set of each for our wedding and I believe if you were to search my linen closet you'd still find them there, nicely folded and waiting for the call to serve. I've replaced the sets several times in the last 15 years but I can't get rid of the old sets--once in a while I'll rip one up for cleaning rags or so

I’m very bummed out because I lost $50 yesterday. I was in the Toronto airport coming back to California when I bought some ice wine for my colleagues in the duty free shop. I contemplated for a long time whether I should make the purchase because the ice wines were pretty expensive but I reckon that it’s the holidays and I should be nice to people who’ve helped me at work all year! So, cash in hand to give to the cashier and off the bottle goes into my hand carry.
When I got to Las Vegas where my connecting flight was, I was told that I needed to go to another terminals where I had to go through the security gate! Since I had a lot of time, this didn’t bother me one bit even though I had to find the shuttle (it wasn’t that easy since there were no signs), wait 15 minutes and then get to the main terminal where my next flight was. After the usual huge lineup at the security checkpoint, I was flagged by the officer going through the gates because they

Last Night's Garbage"Each day the United States throws awayenough trash to fill 63,000 garbage trucks."—The Cass County Solid Waste Management DistrictIt all began on July 16, 2007, when one man decided he'd had enough. "You can't walk down a single street in New York City without the sight and smell of trash, rubbish, yesterday's news, and last night's garbage," he may have said to himself. "Everyone tosses things away: the fashionable, the leisure class, the chronically thirsty. What we need is the documentarist, a troubadour, perhaps, who can help us regard what we waste and reconsider what we discard in a whole new light. We will never look at last night's garbage in the same way."
By: Beth YoungIt's easy to fall into a routine that allows your family and marriage to run smoothly. Routines are good and help you to meet the many demands on your life. However, it's important that your "routine" includes intimate time with your spouse.Intimate time doesn't just equate to sex, it equates to intimate discussions about where your life is now, where you hope it will go and a few dreams thrown in along the way. Ongoing intimacy keeps a relationship strong and improves the physical aspect of your marriage as well.Intimate times means there are no other demands to distract you from your sweetheart. If you have kids, it means you need to get out at least once a week on a date so you can have these types of conversations. While you're talking about getting away, don't forget to have an annual get away for a weekend. These marital retreats allow you to be more relaxed and not worry about child invaders in the bedroom, telephone calls, spilled milk, or a myriad of other d
When something that you own breaks down you either fix it or throw it away. And not many people actually fix anything anymore. With our society entrenched in throwing things away for the quick and easy fix there is no wonder that lives are often thrown away too. Luckily there are people who will try and help those who have been thrown out by society. Be it a homeless shelter volunteer, someone who works with drug rehabs or someone who tends to the infirmed. While the rest of society has given people up for things to be thrown away there are those who are ready to help.My life has been fortunate but what if yours hasn't or someone you know is going through a tough time, you can get help that you are looking for. One place that you can start your search is online. Finding people who can help and available services and learning about problems and how best to help is just another thing that the Internet can do. Search and educate yourself online to the possibilities and potential of servi
Right now my house is in the midst (mess?) of a renovation project. We are updating our bathroom which recently sprung a leak due to an array of broken and rusty pipes. We are also converting our dining room to a dual purpose “home office-guest bed room” combination in anticipation of the arriving baby.
We figure spending about $10,000 now will extend the useful life of this house for another 7-10 years before we have to bite the bullet and upgrade to a bigger house. We did some research late last year and the result was not good. For a modestly bigger house in a slightly better neighborhood, we essentially have to double our current mortgage. To us, one extra bed room does not worth $150,000.
With any renovation project, I have to look for stuff that I have not used for years. This makes me realize how important it is to throw away old junks and organize things that I am keeping. I cannot tell you how many times I have to run out to my local hardware store or Home
This great keynote at TED from Jeff Han, consulting research scientist for NYU’s Department of Computer Science, shows a great new way of interacting with technology. This breakthrough touch screen offer many possibilities when it comes to our interaction and interface with computers……throw away you keyboards and stretch those fingers.
OK, I have known for a while that the morals and ethics of our societyare going down the drain quite gradually. But I just got done reading astory on CNN that only validated how society has degenerated. It wasabout a piece of trash that recently mugged an 101 year old woman.101 years old. Teddy Roosevelt was president when she was born.She was a schoolgirl during WWI, lived through the Great Depression,WWII, and so much more. And now, near the end of her life, somenasty slime mugged her....for $33 dollars?!?! The same man issuspected in a mugging of an 85 year old woman in the same NewYork City borough of Queens; he got away with a whopping $32 dollarsin that case. The 101 year old lady was able to withstand 3 punches toher face before being pushed down on the ground. (A video surveillancecamera in the apartment building captured the attack on tape.) Whileshe did end up in the hospital for 3 days, the lady did state that hadshe been younger, she would gone after him. Good for her, that
