In a perfect world, where the elements of earth, air, water and fire are in harmony, and justice, beauty and peace prevail, the Dalai Lama would probably have his own animated action series. In this world, we’ll have to make do with Nickelodeon’s “Avatar: The Last Airbender” in which a bald adolescent with a lisp, an infectious vulnerability and little more than a loincloth in the way of w

"Historically, if you see, people used to invest either in real estate or gold to hedge inflation. Only in recent times people are investing in shares, but real estate is a long-term investment and so it is the best bait for investment when inflation is higher," Hiranandani Construction's Managing Director Niranjan Hiranandani said.
The higher the inflation, the more the depreciation of rupee and

But the hypocrisy gets to me here — so I'll be one of like 10 "outlets" in the

Users of large files may often face the following problem especially when trying to copy files above 4gb into portable drives. Windows keep informing of you of a "Disk is full" or "Not enough space" error even though you clearly have sufficient space in the drive. The solution this problem is easy: FAT/FAT32, the default file system most portable hard disks are formatted with, do not support files
The BlackBerry Javelin which was a mobile smartphone under the “Rumour” list is in fact real and not fake, and the picture proves it here thanks to Engadget.

Despite the research from the Congressional Budget Office that shows that some 35% of those bailed out are more than likely to default anyway, some members of the Senate seem ready to charge on with this waste of taxpayers money at full speed.
It makes you wonder, who is this bailout really helping? Is it [...]
Even though the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) found that a stunning 35 percent of the loans refinanced through the bailout program will eventually default anyway. And banks will use the program to offload their "highest-risk loans" to the taxpayer. But, that’s apparently good enough for Congress.

As the tide of foreclosed properties continue to rise, lenders are finally realizing that they need to cut prices -- fast and low -- to move inventory to a skittish public and a tight credit market. But have they waited too long to do so? From a Wall Street Journal article:The number of foreclosed homes owned by lenders continues to rise despite signs that they are increasingly willing to slash

(Little Rock) - At last count, there were 76,000 people in the United States working as disc jockeys and announcers. But, The U.S. Department of Labor says the number of jobs for DJs is expected to decline through the year 2012.
This is due partly to the lack of growth in the number of stations plus now, more than ever, several stations may be operated from one central office or region which

So I peeked. I promised myself I wouldn't look until tomorrow, which I then reinterpreted as starting at 12:01, not when I wake up.At this point, Obama has kicked Clinton up and down North Carolina. Hillary may win Indiana, but it won't be by more than two points. She has no way to spin this whatsoever. It is, once again, over for her.Since I must find something interesting to report:Republicans have primaries too! Sure, McCain already has the delegates, but Indiana and North Carolina get to vote too. Here's the interesting nugget: McCain, who has won the nomination, gained 77% and 73% in those states. This means that something like 25% of Republican primary voters want to register protest votes against McCain. And who got the big numbers that were taken from McCain? Wistful blogger
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the U.S. economy shed 20,000 jobs in April 2008. The labor force now counts at 146 million people as employed.
Normally, a loss of jobs would foretell economic weakness and would be a good thing for mortgage rate shoppers. Today, though, traders had been expecting a larger loss of 70,000 jobs.
In other words, today's jobs report looks surprisingly strong.
The stock market is now rallying on optimism that "the worst is over" for the U.S. economy and evidence supporting the Federal Reserve's remarks that its rate cuts were starting to take hold.
The stock market's gains are the bond market's losses.
Mortgage rates are up today because the cash that is fueling the stock market is coming from the sale of all types of

Matt Di Angelo has been talking nine to the dozen about how wonderful it is to be recognised as Matt Di Angelo, suave star of Strictly Come Dancing, rather than Deano Wicks, his less dashing soap opera alter ego.
“EastEnders has been great for me, but it’s fantastic to have people coming up clapping me on the back and recognising me for myself,” he says.
A few moments later he is accosted by a starstruck fan, who wants an autograph.
As he signs, and she simpers, she asks him what his future career plans are.
He mutters: “Not sure yet. I’m just concentrating on Strictly Come Dancing at the minute.”
“Oh, are you in that?” comes the response. Ouch. Still, she must be about the only female in the country who doesn’t know that Matt Di Angelo is now more than “that bloke off EastEnders”.

Putin, Lukashenka Meet for Tête-à -tête in Minsk Presidents of Russia and Belarus agreed on Friday that Belarus will get a loan of $1.5 billion to pay higher price for Russia's natural gas. Kommersant's special correspondent Andrei Kolesnikov believes that can be viewed as news, considering the complete absence of political intrigue when not a word was said about the Russia-Belarus Union State. Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived to Minsk at 9:30 p.m. Moscow time on Thursday. Belarusian Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky met him. According to protocol, the PM was to take Putin to Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenka's residence for dinner, after which Lukashenka wanted to offer traditional Russian banya to Putin, as some sources said. Although the history of their long-term fruitful political and economic relations would rather suggest a blood bath instead. However, instead of the cultural program, Sidorsky took Putin to the airport building to talk, which was a g
It was an interesting 2007 season all over Motorsports for me and on any given week I had plenty to write about and what an elevator of a season its been.Open wheel racing in the United States doesn't really count for much anymore like it use too, for the IRL, I watched basically the entire season or at least as they say Tivo-ed it to watch when I had the time. They still had there fair share of action including one spectacle in racing, the Indianapolis 500. Even with all of the rain being off and on all day, the race was entertaining at times and seeing Dario Franchitti win it (yes, even on fuel mileage and the race being shortened due to rain), it was cool too.The championship battle all season long was nothing like I expected and with no Penske racing cars in the mix (like I predicted at the beginning of the season), but rather the battle came down to Andretti-Green Racing vs. the challenging Ganassi Racing team. In the end, it was one bad call on the Ganassi Racing side of it tha

THOUGH corporate deal making is filled with uncertainty, one thing that you can generally count on is that the lawyers always get paid.
Investment banks have received a lot of attention for their big lump-sum fees and year-end bonuses, but the legal profession has also been cashing in on the frenzy of mergers and acquisitions, at rates traditionally set at hundreds of dollars an hour.
For some firms, billable hours are just the beginning. As the boom rolled on, law firms specializing in mergers and acquisitions increasingly engaged in premium billing, charging fees in excess of their total hourly billings. Think of it as a tip for good work. Whether a client pays a premium depends upon its satisfaction with the result, the size and complexity of the transaction, and the nature and length of the attorney-client relationship.
But since the credit market began to tighten this summer, an event that brought new deals to a crawl and has upset several old ones, many lawyers have been wonderin

Salve, minha gente! Nosso tópico hoje é algo que a muitos alunos do nível intermediário causa problemas de uso: although, though, even though, in spite of e despite. Andei fuçando em vários livros e sites e achei uma explicação bem legal no Grammar in Use, do Raymond Murphy (Editora Cambridge), um livro que vale a pena ter em casa como referência.
1) Depois de although usamos um sujeito + verbo:
Although it rained a lot, we enjoyed our holiday. (Embora tenha chovido muito, nós aproveitamos nosso feriado)
I didn’t get the job although I had all the necessary qualifications. (Não consegui o emprego, embora eu tivesse todas as qualificações necessárias.)
2) Depois de in spite of ou despite (apesar de), usamos um substantivo, um pronome (this/that/what etc.) ou a forma do gerúndio –ing.
In spite of the rain, we enjoyed our holiday. (Apesar da chuva, aproveitamos nosso feriado.)
I didn’t get the job in spite of having all the necessary qualifications.
Exemplos:
- He still argues, though he knows he’s wrong.
- Although it rained, we had a great time.

By: stephensstewart It is a generally accepted medical fact that by adjusting the nutrients in your diet (such as sodium etc) that you can actually positively influence incidences of high blood pressure.Organisations throughout the world recently have been issuing guidelines about reducing levels of salt in our diet and it appears that the general target has been to try and cut in half our daily sodium intake from 3,500 milligrams per day to between 1,200 and 2,300 mg a day.The danger with this is that in our enthusiasm to cut back on our sodium which has a detrimental effect on high blood pressure, as a side effect we cut back on other nutrients such as magnesium, calcium and potassium which actually have a more beneficial effect on our blood pressure. So it would appear that the concept of eating a healthy well-balanced diet is what we should be aiming at and I know this may sound as a statement of the obvious but all that it requires is a little bit of careful forethought and plannin

That’s “Helo”, fingerspelling in hand language :).
I am not sure what making me into studying hand language today? Perhaps because one day I could use it for simple conversation with my “special” friends? So regretfully, I have not made friends with any of them yet in my life. In fact, I always see them in group especially in the art centers, bookshops, and sometimes the gym in KL. Their “silent” conversations always disrupted me from focusing on my stuff but instead on their gestures, body languages and hand movements.
Let’s study the “alphabets” here :). You need to know all following “alphabets” to do fingerspelling! Fingerspelling is useful in spelling your name or places to people

So it is November.... I am sorry but I cannot believe that it is the Holiday season already!! Little disturbing to be a business today. The news talked about how awful the shopping season was expected to be this year and said that merchants are extending the Christmas shopping season now to the day after Halloween. Sure enough, I went to Linds here on the island and they have all their Christmas stuff up!
As for Dan and I... we wait till December for Christmas gifts. There is just to much happening in a day for us to worry about shopping for Christmas. We simply look forward to time with Mary and Randy and their family at Thanksgiving and then our time together over the holidays. The "falderall" of the whole gift thing has been so totally overblown that it often takes away the sweetness of the holiday.
Dan and I have had a really busy week in the shop this week. It is actually our Thursday today. The shop is closed on Wednesday and Thursday and well it has just screws my mind up wh
I am not going to give you tips on how to make or write "Tips Articles" as i am not good in giving tips.. :)Well, i see a lot of bloggers who have tons of tips and tricks for their readers. And i do appreciate them as i need those. You see, when i am online, mostly of my time is spent reading posts of other bloggers. Well, of course i only read those posts with valuable informations. But i also love to read blogs about the everyday life of the author or blog owner. When i stumbled upon a great blog site while browsing Google, i will bookmark it and add it on my list f Noted Blogs so that i can visit it again as many times as i want.As you can see, my blog does not have a targeted niche. I mean, i will write anything i want here in any topic i like. For me this is much easier than having a niche on where i need to write articles related and relevant to what i am imposing to my readers. In having a freelance style of writing, i can easily write a post about "Cockroaches" without having a fe
Certain things in our life happen without any warning; and often we find that we did not have the time to be prepared to face that. Now if you are a senior citizen above 62 years of age or are approaching that age, you will surely know that you will retire from work soon. Retirement is going to happen sooner or later, so take all steps to ensure that you lead your retired life smoothly without any hassles. There are several financial schemes that are available these days for retired people to take care of their financial needs once they retire from service. When they retire from work, no one likes to ask for money from either their family or friends, but the truth of the matter is that one does need money. So when you have alternatives like taking a reverse mortgage loan, you do not need to seek help from anyone for this. A reverse mortgage is a loan that is given against the house that you own. Huston reverse mortgage is a financial plan that any senior citizen can take up after reti
Need An Expert Please !!! Should I Apply 4 A Credit Card Even Though ?!!!So here's the deal - Earlier this year (around March) I had applied for a credit card from my bank and was rejected (I had no credit). But I ended up having to get a small loan to get a new engine for my car that was around $1300. I payed it all off with no late payments and whatnot. So I'm hoping it brought my credit score up a bit.So I really would like to apply for a credit card again but I dont know if it's too soon. I know it effects my credit score so yeah - I dont really want to mess that up.Also, before my loan my credit score was 616. And my checkbook had been stolen a few years ago which caused me to overdraft (a few times :S - they ended up going to jail) So I'm wondering if that has anything to do with me being rejected or will have any effect on my reapplying. And PLEASE I dont want to hear the crap about why I shouldnt get a credit card. I'm not a total idiot. :) If you need anymore info just let
By: Forest Schellenberg Are you a woman who is looking to lose weight? Whether you are interested in losing weight to improve your physical appearance, your health, or both, you may be feeling a little bit hopeless. While many women are able to lose weight when they want to do so, others have a little bit harder time. If you are finding it difficult to lose weight, it may be because you are trying to go about losing weight all on your own. When it comes to weight loss, there are many women who find it easier, as well as less embarrassing, to doing their own weight loss program from home. While it is more than possible to exercise and workout by yourself, do you know that you don’t have to? In fact, many women who have a workout partner or a workout buddy find it easier to lose weight than going at it along. Two popular reasons as to why those who have a workout partner or a workout buddy see success is because of support and motivation. As nice as it is to hear that you should think ab

...Yes, people with other phenotypes would not be refused the job, regardless of what the ad might say. Yes, they would consider rewording the ad. But still, those are the job specifications as per what the customer wants, and we have to stay in business. Even if it means selling asbestos or other toxic, damaging elements into society (okay, so we didn't really get into this argument…) As the Corelone family would say, this is just business. www.debito.org/

Absolutely right ! ...;D I am happy because my PayPal account access limitation was lifted yesterday. That means I can withdraw my hard-earned money from PayPal into my VMI card. And then use it to pay off my credit card debts, car loan and home
Though model turned actress Yuvika Choudhary plays an important role in Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om, she has deliberately been kept under wraps.
The newcomer has featured in many television commercials with Bollywood’s top stars like Aamir Khan, Sanjay Dutt and Kunal Kapoor.
Our sources inform, “Yuvika has been totally sidelined in the promotions of Om Shanti Om. Neither is she seen in any of the on-going promos on television nor the two theatrical promos that are being shown in cinema halls across the globe. The debutante has also not been invited for any promotional activities the OSO team is doing together. The makers want to focus right now only on presenting Deepika Padukone.” (more…)
How come different languages have difference words for plural and singular. For example, is and are? The sentence doesn’t make a difference whether I say? “Is there any pieces of cake in the box?” or “Are there any pieces of cake in the box?” Either way I convey the message that I want some cake from the box. How does the Is or Are make a difference? And it’s not just English, it’s all languages.
My question to think about is that whoever or whatever group of people made the language, why did they make it unnecessarily complicated?
There was a book meme going around. Nobody tagged me -- which is fine, because I probably wouldn't have done it if they had (and by they I mean Suzanne and Des.) And I'm not going to tag anybody else. Total number of books owned: I have absolutely no idea, but I sold off the excess on Amazon for two years (and pretty much lived off of the money I made) but made hardly a dent.Last book bought: I'm so happy you asked, because I went to the book store tonight after I got out of bed and had Tsingtao and Spicy Tofu for breakfast. I went on a bit of a biblioconsumerist rampage: The Gum Thief by Douglas Coupland. I'm starting with this one. Why has it been so long since I've read any Coupland? He is the voice of my part of my generation. The Discomfort Zone by Jonathan FranzenShattered Dreams: My Life as a Polygamist's Wife by Irene SpencerThe Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls (I've already read this, but was filled with a longing to read it again.)Also, I bought a three pack of t
A few days ago, we posted an article regarding the unethical practice of replication of logos. While we received a large number of comments (both in favor and opposition, and some very critical of our views!), we have come to believe that our blog has an increased readership. The article seemed to spark off a few negative vibes, and hence we felt a sequel to the logo theft post was required.
As we have stated in our ‘About Us’ web page, “Logo Blog is dedicated to giving you unbiased, reliable and independent user based reviews and advice about Logos, and Logo Design Companies.” On a similar note, we talk about the latest happenings, industry trends and culture, skills, and many more issues related to logos, design, image branding and etc, promoting excellence in logo design in general.
The LogoBlog team never intended to offend anyone, and we would like to offer profound apologies if our views came out too strong. However, this should not change the fact that we still maintain
A logo is a visual character that solely represents a particular firm, entity, institution or brand, defining its nature and identity. However, since the evolution of logo as the ‘identity mark’ over the years, plenty of iconic designs have been stolen and reused illegally. At times, logo theft is troubling and sickening, as people have no regard for the original logo designs. By committing a logo theft and making it work for their own use, they violate the copyrights of the firm as well as the rights of their clientèle. Today, many firms are committing logo theft, just by altering the genuine logo. Thus the visual art appears to be too similar.
This unfortunate practice of logo theft has not been a recent trend; in fact logo theft has been taking place for quite some time now. Lately, the logo theft trouble bubbled up between Quark, a leading design software program manufacturer, and the Scottish Arts Council.
Quark’s new logo bears a striking resemblance to the logo of the Sc
Dear Don,
I received my order of pencils, and I am very happy with them. Of course, I really like the Rhodia. I would like to order a box of them when they come in.
I taught English classes to children at the junior high, senior high, and college levels for about thirty years. Every once in a while when shopping, I would come across some high quality pencils, I would buy a box and then display it proudly on my desk at school.
Whenever I had to sign a hall pass or tardy slip, I would reach for the box and pull one of the pencils out with such flair and drama, everyone in the class would turn their eyes to me to see what I was up to. Invariably, one of my students would ask what kind of pencil I had, and I would cup my hands together at my lips and project an echoing whisper out to the class, “Magic. It’s a magic pencil.”
Reactions were always varied, but whether it was a college class or seventh graders, I always got responses. Some were moans, some were smiles, b
88- When you look at the mountains, you think that they are standing still. But they are moving like clouds. Such is the artistry of God, who disposes of all things in perfect order. He is indeed fully aware of what you do. 27-The Ant, 88 The mountains’ features seem to make them the most stationary components of the earth’s surface. The idea of the unattainability of mountains led certain primitive mentalities to believe in polytheism and fancy that the mountains were the abode of divinities. The idea of mountain peaks being beyond man’s reach was an illusion, as was also their stationary aspect. The verse refers to this illusion and speaks of the motion of mountains like clouds. If the mountains that had a stationary aspect did move, it would follow that the earth itself also moved. The verse thus dismisses the idea of a fixed world entertained as a consequence of false perception, and informed the public of the time of the movement of mountains, likening them to clouds. This si
CHICAGO – While the environment is a bitterly divisive topic with people of all politics often worlds apart, there’s one thing we can all agree on: Our world is changing. As for the questions of by what, to what degree and what to do about it, we have dissertations of theories. What we need to impel real understanding and change, though, isn’t the opinion of the average Joe or Jane. We need expert testimony.Leonardo DiCaprio in “The 11th Hour”.Photo courtesy of IMDbThat’s what “The 11th Hour,” which opens on Aug. 24 in Chicago, delivers. Finally. The film’s power is its objective, authoritative and expert declarations. Its message isn’t delivered by a politician (though I still enjoyed “The Inconvenient Truth” and do buy into Al Gore’s good heart on the subject) and its story isn’t told by actors. Well, for the most part. My main criticism of this well-intentioned film is the selection of Leonardo DiCaprio as its mouthpiece. DiCaprio, whose good intentions ste

"Day of Judgement, God is callinggggggg" War Pigs by Black Sabbath-Crazy day. This really random thoughts. I noticed most of the fast food restaurants raised prices across the broad during the last few weeks. I was a dummy trying to figure out why. "Are they all working together?". Does there need to be an investigation? DUH - even thou very few people in this area work at the minimum wage - it went up at the end of July.-CNBC is showing clips from "300", "God Father" and "Rocky". What a combination!-I was cleaning out my desk yesterday and came across an article from mid 1999. I showed a chart of the top 50 internet companies for the next decade. Out of the 50, only 10 are still trading (guess - CSCO, AOL, YHOO, AMZN, EBAY - etc). Some were bought out but they is amazing.-CNBC is so funny. The futures have stabilized. Yes, I agree after looking at the charts. They have not gone down that much in the last 10 minutes. Give me a break!-Blood is the Streets. You got it love it.
Most mornings this is just going to be a random dumping of my brain as the coffee begins to kick in. A fun start to the morning as I had to get up early to be on a client call. Guess what the client did not show so I lose an hour of sleep for nothing.-For some reason , the volume in stock index future usually picks up around this time but other than the ES, things look slower than days gone by. A friend of mine who manages over 25 million in funds for people and is in the process of getting a lot more, bought leveraged EFTs at the close of the market on Friday using margin in the accounts for the first time ever. He is very happy today and we will see if he stays happy. He was a doom amd gloomer and sudden decided to turn very bullish as he states "longer term" on the market at the end of last week. He does this a lot by gut feel but has done very well over 20 plus years.-The markets look relatively stable this morning with the futures a little below fair value. I have a feeling
Dirty Projectors‘ Dave Longstreth was cleaning out his parents’ house when he found the empty cassette case to Black Flag’s Damaged. With some time on his hands (I’m guessing, based on how little there is to do after your parents go to bed at 8 p.m.) and a spare four-track, he re-produced Damaged from memory. This re-imagining will be Dirty Projectors’ next LP, titled Rise Above.

CHICAGO They do what you'd think bodies can't and love to bellow "hai!" to earn a sequence's well-deserved ovation. Of course, native Chicagoans and locals who have seen the sights don't think Navy Pier is nearly the big whoop tourists make it out to be. While "Cirque Shanghai" is a touristy show dead smack in the most touristy trap in Chicago, it's there for a reason and these painstaking performers earn their keep. The Chinese acrobats have somersaulted into Navy Pier to pay homage to the Han Dynasty from 2,000 years ago. Their distinctive manifestations were originally coined "Bai Xai" or "100 stunning acts" in reference to a wide range of proficiencies. The tightrope-walking tyke, for example, might earlier be seen with the cluster in the plate-spinning bit while the spider who scales slippery ribbons is also featured as a human pretzel. The stunts are all real, the danger is more than moderate and stage energy is vigorous for a show that runs 10 weeks. Each and
Fransico Rodriguez currently owes over $10,000 in child support for a 15 year-old-girl, but according to blood results and the girl’s mother the child is not his. At a court hearing, Rodriguez said, “It’s not right. I’m not the father.”
Rodriguez said he new nothing of the girl until four years ago when he received papers saying that he is the father. Since then he has DNA results and a statement from the mother that proves he is not the father.
However, the Florida court system is still trying to force him to pay child support on the girl of $305 per month, plus the $10,000 that is already owed. The reason is because he did not challenge this issue until after the deadline, but Rodriguez said he didn’t get the paperwork until after the deadline. Rodriguez said, “It’s like you’re drowning every day.”
After the deadline, which is set in the system to protect the children, the only way to contest, according to the C
