American Legion Defends Religious Symbols on Veterans' MemorialsWASHINGTON (AP) -- This Memorial Day weekend, religious liberty groups are uniting with the American Legion to defend veterans memorials that include religious symbols.The Alliance Defense Fund's Joseph Infranco says memorials that feature a cross or star of David honor "the faith and courage of veterans who paid the ultimate price to protect our freedoms."The ADF and the Liberty Legal Institute are offering free legal help to government entities that are threatened with lawsuits over such memorials.Former American Legion National Commander Thomas Bock says taxpayers shouldn't have to pay legal fees to groups whose lawsuits strip religious symbols from veterans memorials.Infranco says Congress should pass a bill that bars the awarding of attorneys fees when the plaintiffs' only claim to harm is that they felt offended by viewing religious symbols. Due to the inherent nature of Atheism as a school of thought that does not have a rigid and hierarchical structure akin to other religions, graphical representations of the philosophy will not gain overnight popularity.     This is the American Atheists logo side-by-side with hybrid logo with its European counterpart. I went to work without my best friend yesterday. I didn't notice until I was in the car and half way there, but then I was aware of the piece missing for the rest of the day. Yesterday morning, I forgot to put on the ring GBF gave me. It was the first thing I picked up and put on after my shower today, and the weight of the ring is comforting. Another thread about recommended body shape on Vogue Patterns made me look at my Vogue patterns. I'm currently working on my first Vogue. I didn't realize that Vogue did this. My pattern has an orange circle and in another square, an hourglass or egg timer symbol. What do these mean? I looked on their site, but didn't see anything that explains this. Thanks!
