A spokesperson for The Bahamas United Nations Office in New York told The Guardian that The Bahamas has a position that it would take during the vote, however, the spokesperson declined to state what that position would be.

In what should bring closure to what was an ugly episode during the Atlanta Falcons-Carolina Panthers game last week, Len Pasquarelli of ESPN reports that Falcons cornerback DeAngelo Hall will not be suspended but will be levied what is described as a “substantial” fine by the club for his actions during the Falcons-Panthers game last Sunday.
Sources close to the situation say that the fine will be less than an entire gamecheck, but will be in the low-100K range. Suspension, when discussing cars, refers to the use of front and rear springs to suspend a vehicle's "sprung" weight. The springs used on today's cars and trucks are constructed in a variety of types, shapes, sizes, rates, and capacities. Types include leaf springs, coil springs, air springs, and torsion bars. These are used in sets of four for each vehicle, or they may be paired off in various combinations and are attached by several different mounting techniques. Buccaneers cornerback and special teams standout Torrie Cox has appealed his four game suspension that was handed down on Tuesday. The agent for Cox, Peter Schaffer stated that “there were some serious issues of the due process violations.” Cox was suspended for violating the leagues substance abuse policy. The suspension is due to start on August 31st, meaning that he would be able to play in the teams preseason games, but would have to miss the first four games of the regular season.
Reports state that Cox’s violation has something to do with alcohol, and the league’s rules are less specific about alcohol, while they are very laid out when it comes to narcotics or drugs. That is where Schaffer may feel he has a case with the league when it comes to appealing the suspension. If the appeal process for Cox lingers into the season, he would still be able to play until a ruling has been handed down.

The NHL ruled today that Devils' goon Cam Janssen will recieve a 3-game suspension for his hit on Tomas Kaberle last night. After reviewing the clip, it's pretty obvious that the hit was late. It was a hell of a hit, but Janssen's timing was way off. It is expected that Kaberle will miss 1-2 weeks with a head injury, as it seemed that Janssen hit Kaberle's head, and the Leafs' defenceman hit his head on the boards as well.
