Hubert Vo (D-Houston) in the race for Texas House District 149 has filed a fairly lackluster six-month financial report which includes some fairly interesting donors. Of the about $57,000 that Meyers raised, about 40 percent came from the usual right-wing sources: Bob “Swift Boat” Perry gave $10,000; Texans for Lawsuit Reform gave $10

But the Saudi government has done remarkably well in capturing or killing Al-Qaeda suspects in the past three years as evident in this latest security sweep reported by Agence France-Presse. Saudi security men initially shot first and asked questions later, resulting in many bloody exchanges. But their methods have been refined and the results are more arrests while plots are in the planning stages rather than reacting to an attack. Clearly the Saudi government has something to offer American military leaders in Iraq and Afghanistan to deal with Al-Qaeda cells, but

All Four Suspects In Taylor Murder Indicted
All four suspects in the murder of NFL player Sean Taylor have been indicted by a grand jury in Miami.  CNN reports that three adult suspects are under suicide watch and behind bars in Miami.  The fourth suspect, 17-year-old Eric Rivera Junior, has been named as the triggerman and is in the custody of Florida juvenile justice authorities.  Taylor, who played for the Washington Redskins, died last Tuesday after he was shot during a home-invasion burglary early Monday at his Miami-area home.  All four suspects have been charged with first-degree felony murder and armed burglary.  The three adult suspects are 20-year-old Venjah Hunt, 19-year-old Jason Mitchell and 18-year-old Charles Wardlow.  They appeared in court in Miami Tuesday via video conference, wearing green vests that defense attorneys called “suicide safety smocks.”  They were ordered held without bond.

Maybe that is an unfair generalization but you all know you're thinking it and just because I'm not Jason Whitlock doesn't mean I can't say it.The Miami-Dade County Police are saying that this was a burglary gone wrong which raises a strange thought in my head. What if the break in last week where a knife was left on the pillow of Taylor was not related to his murder? It seems like everyone who knew him believed this to be an act of retribution, and that Taylor had been singled out by these guys which is why they were in his house in the first place. But what if this is just a strange coincidence and these four Rhodes

      "Round Up The Usual Suspects"
Movie buffs will recognize this line from the classic film "Casablanca", when the corrupt Captain Renault uses these words to throw the Nazis off the trail, thus saving the life of Rick (Humphrey Bogart). I sometimes use this phrase in therapy to refer to the tendency of people to possess a small handful of relatively stable issues that repeatedly appear in a wide variety of different life events. Throughout your life you are likely to be faced with variations of same finite set of thematic obstacles in your life. They may include the belief that "happiness is always just out of my reach", "nothing really matters", "if people really knew me they wouldn't like me" and so on. These "usual suspects" are always lurking around the shadows of your life, and they often take the fall when things are not going well for you. Who are your usual suspects? When you come to appreciate their place in the wartime Casablanca of your personality then you will have gone a long way toward understan

Demnächst: Filmgedanken zu The Usual Suspects (Die üblichen Verdächtigen)
Bryan Singers (Produzent von «Dr. House», Regie bei X-Men 1–2!!!)

      THE USUAL SUSPECTS
Doug Thompson had a rundown of today's visit by Mr. Bush. We were impressed by the level of self-denial apparently involved in said visit. We were also impressed by the members of the NWA establishment on hand to offer their supplication to our esteemed leader. SPRINGDALE — President Bush visited with a select group of local leaders at the Whole Hog Cafe in Rogers today after touring a local company and touting small businesses. Bush sat down with Rogers Mayor Steve Womack, developer Bill Schwyhart and University of Arkansas Chancellor John White at the restaurant. Earlier today, the president toured Stribling Packaging of Rogers, led by company President Bill Stribling. Bush's trip to Northwest Arkansas today is meant to highlight his administration's economic policies in the days before a veto override attempt in Congress. The president noted at Stribling that "small business is the backbone of this country." However, we're not sure if Mr. Bush said anything terribly rele

      Israeli neo-Nazi suspects charged
Authorities in Israel have charged eight immigrants accused of belonging to a neo-Nazi gang, in a case which shocked the country. The group - all from the former Soviet Union - were charged with a range of offences, including aggravated assault and spreading racist material. They are suspected of attacking religious Jews and other immigrants and daubing Nazi swastikas in synagogues. The group's arrest sparked calls for changes to Israel's immigration laws. The youths, aged 16 to 19, were granted Israeli citizenship under the Law of Return because at least one of each of their grandparents is Jewish. Shimon Weiss, the lawyer for the alleged ringleader, named in Israeli media as Eli Boanitov, said his client denied the charges against him. A report quoting Mr Boanitov's sister suggested her brother had once worked as an electrician in the Israeli prime minister's office. The grandmother of one of the suspects is herself a H

      "The Usual Suspects" (1995)

2 Indonesian terror suspects helped launch attack on troops in Philippines
Two top Indonesian terror suspects were involved in deadly clashes between Muslim insurgents and army soldiers in the southern Philippines last week, the military chief said Sunday. The Philippine military's chief of staff, Gen. Hermogenes Esperon, said the two — Umar Patek and Dulmatin — provided unspecified help to Abu Sayyaf militants and other insurgents who killed 25 soldiers Thursday in a road ambush and subsequent fighting on the southern island of Jolo. Dulmatin goes by a single name. "We have a report that they (Patek and Dulmatin) were in the encounters," Esperon told reporters. He did not elaborate.Dulmatin and Patek have reportedly been given sanctuary in Jolo by Abu Sayyaf commanders Radulan Sahiron and Umbra Jumdail, whose forces, along with Moro National Liberation Front guerrillas, killed the 25 soldiers.Jumdail's son and a key Sahiron aide were among those killed in Thursday's clashes in the Maimbung township on Jolo, Esperon said.Indonesia News Blog: http://i

Troops Detain 19 Suspects, Seize Weapons in Iraq
Iraqi and coalition forces detained 19 suspects and captured weapons caches during recent operations in Iraq. Tips from two Iraqi residents near Dhour, south of Baghdad, helped coalition forces nab seven suspects yesterday, including an al Qaeda network leader, military officials said. The first tipster called soldiers of the 10th Mountain Division's 89th Cavalry Regiment and alerted them to a weapons cache. Soldiers responded, located the buried weapons, and had been digging up the cache for five minutes when they received another phone call. The second caller claimed he had the 2nd Brigade Combat Team's top high-value target and would deliver him to coalition custody. This tipster arranged a meeting place to hand the detainee over to Army Capt. Adam Sawyer, the Troop C commander.Soldiers hastily re-buried the cache and departed for the meeting place, where they took custody of the high-value detainee and two other suspects. During the exchange, some of the soldiers observed the cac

2 UK Bomb Suspects Looked Into U.S. Jobs
Every day I expect to see reports of car bombs going off in front of crowded clubs, schools or most any public place. I honestly have no idea how we have avoided it so far. As good as the FBI is it cant possibly monitor every car in the country. Plus toss in our stupid political correctness about not “profiling” any groups and it’s a damned miracle we haven’t had any. A couple of the doctors in Britain that were responsible for the bungled car bombs were looking to take jobs in America. Lets be honest who would normally suspect a doctor of something this horrific? Throw in our required “appreciation of diversity” and we might as well be inviting Al Qaeda into our homes. ~RJH MyWay News article link 2 UK Bomb Suspects Looked Into U.S. JobsJul 6, 5:51 PM (ET)By THOMAS WAGNERLONDON (AP) - The FBI said Friday that two suspects in the failed car bombings in Britain had made inquiries about working in the United States, and an Iraqi doctor arrested at the attack on Glasgow airport beca

      Vince McMahon - The Suspects
Now that we've seen the "death" of Vinnie Mac the big question on wrestling fans lips is the question of whodunnit. There are certainly no shortage of suspects. There are likely to be many twist and turns throughout this storyline that's for sure. If your a long time fan you may remember the last time WWE did a similar story was the Steve Austin hit and run, and that ended up been down to Rikishi who had nothing to do with the story. The twist however came when it was later revealed Triple H was behind it all. This shows that with a WWE storyline it really could've been anyone but here are the main suspects in no particular order.Bret HartGiven the real life personal issues between McMahon and "The Hitman" it would certainly make sense. Bret Hart was rumored to be appearing on Raw that night prior to the event which only added fuel to the fire that Hart could be responsible. My problem with Hart as the purpatrator is that his reason would be the double cross and the death of Owen Hart

Coalition forces killed 10 terrorists, detained 20 suspected terrorists and uncovered enemy weapons and bomb-making materials during operations targeting the al Qaeda in Iraq network yesterday and today.
