The Splinter supercar is going to be built from wood composites that will be use where ever is possible: body, chassis, and large percentages of the suspension components and wheels. The weight target of the Splinter wood supercar is 2500lbs. The Splinter wood supercars engine is also equipped with Twin Roots-type superchargers, 4 air-to-water intercoolers and is expected to develop 600 hp. The Splinter wood supercar is going to be powered by a Northstar V8 engine with aluminum block and heads, 32V DOHC reverse-flow cylinder heads and 4.6 liter displacement. Car makers spend millions of dollars creating new cars for us to enjoy, some cars really do need to be improved but we was shocked to hear that Kicherer the German tuner wanted to improve the Audi R8 supercar. However Kicherer have done the impossible and made this fantastic car even better. Kicherer did not bother to improve the mechanicals as this was already perfect, instead they worked on the aesthetics and handling of the Audi R8. You can clearly see a new front spoiler, this helps to reduce front lift, and a new spoiler to the rear improves downforce. The rims have gone form 19-inch to 20-inch lighter rims, but what is the most obvious change are the cars new springs, so now the Audio R8 sits just 15mm high at the front and 30mm at the rear. I was brought up with lots of independence by my working parents. As a young girl, I played with my brother and his friends - marbles, spinning tops, train sets, racing cars, remote control fast cars... everything else which some people termed as 'boys' stuff'. My dad was a fast car driver and he adored cars. Though we weren't wealthy, my dad had this habit of changing cars every 6-9 months and he just loved stylish sport cars. I supposed his passion for cars had influenced me in a mild way as I did enjoy fast cars too.This explains why I tend to give nice cars, fast cars and racing cars a second look. Here are some of the first pictures of the up and coming Lexus Supercar without its usual testing disguise. The car looks very similar to the LF-A showcar that Lexu unveiled at eth Detroit Motor Show in 2005. This rear-wheel-drive supercar will be powered by a front-mounted V10 and should develop around 500bhp. Audi R4 will be built off an all-new platform and will be a strict two-seater and will haveit’s larger sibling the R8, will have a mid-ship mounted engine. The R4 will be powered by a series of engines, but the top of them will be a V6 engine delivering arround 280-300hp.The same mid-mounted engine powers the Porsche Cayman and Boxster models, but they are not beeing considered competitors for the new R4. Maximum output for the 2.7-litre Boxster’s engine is 240 hp, makes the 0 to 60 mph sprint in 6.2 seconds and has a top speed of 159 mph. The Cayman is powered by a 2.7 liters engine developing an output of 245 bhp. It has a top speed of 160 mph and makes the 0 to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds.R4 will be build a new coupe from Seat, that will probably be one of the most expensive Seat ever ($39000). Currently powering the Q7 SUV, the oil-burner produces 322bhp and 760Nm of torque. How-ever, it is likely to be tuned further for the R8, pumping out more than 350bhp and 800Nm of torque.Hooked up to either the R8’s six-speed manual or six-speed R tronic transmissions, the four-wheel-drive supercar should be capable of going from 0-60mph in around five seconds, with a top speed of 160mph. The car magazine’s latest feature pits a photographer and MT journalist against the 3000-mile cross-country Pacific Crest Trail in Audi’s new supercar - the 2008 R8. Where are they posting these jobs by the way? I haven’t seen them on Craigslist yet. If they’d only called me, I probably could’ve made myself available. Probably. At the very least, I’m a fairly small fella. Had they agreed to take one or two less laptops, I probably could’ve squeezed into the toaster oven sized cubby behind the seats. If nothing else, the extra weight would’ve provided a dollop or two of extra traction during their harrowing escape from Oregon’s Crater Lake. Who could've ever imagined a Lexus supercar just 10 years ago when they were just breaking ground on US land? Lexus is already near-completion to its first supercar project, and we're anticipating it big time. We already got a few glimpses of it when Lexus revealed two variants of the LF-A Concept, and we are amazed. Bugatti’s total production of the sexy machine was limited to only 300 units & it has received over 140 orders for the car already. Autocar reports that British speed merchants McLaren are set to ulneash another of their own-branded supercars. The P11 ('cause an actual name would be way too mnemonic), the new whip is set to debut in 2010. Autocar is quick to point out that the P11 isn't designed to eclipse the previous gold standard (literally) in supercars: the BMW-powered, three-seat-abreast F1. The P11 will offer "just" 550 horsepower from its Mahle-sourced V8.
