In this second of a series of four articles, I will explore what is required to change people’s behaviour using the theory of planned behaviour with regard to serving customers, as an example. This article explores normative beliefs and subjective norms.

In case you have been living in a cave with no MTV, VH1 or teenagers, I will share with you the fact that “skeevy” is not a desirable adjective. Although it is often used to describe unwholesome persons, transactions or locations, I will be using it today in the context of food. The foods listed below, for whatever reason, give me the creeps. This is not food snobbery, as many of them are actually fairly healthy; I just hate them and avoid them at all costs because their very presence has the same effect on me as fingernails rubbing on corduroy.
It isn’t just a question of not liking them, either; I dislike linguine with clam sauce, escargot, and venison, and would rather not have any, thanks, but I can them it to be polite. I can also sit across the table from you while you eat them, if I must. These foods really just creep me out, and while I have eaten each of them at least once in my life, I also spend inordinate amounts of time calculating how to avoid eating t
From left, Scott Demler, Muhammad Wilkerson, Eric Reynolds and Isaiah JacksonBy Mike GibsonBy the results of a recently completed poll on another Temple-related website, the "football recruiting" season soundly defeated the "men's basketball" and "women's basketball" season as the one of most interest to Owl fans.No wonder.Al Golden isn't just changing the perceptions inside Edberg-Olson Hall. He's also changing perceptions on the outside. Not just in the area around the campus but in the city, state and the nation.Even one Michigan writer, previewing the Temple at Western Michigan game a week or so ago, said, "Western Michigan can't lose (to Temple) _ at least not until next year, when the Owls will be favored to win the MAC East."Note he didn't say "should be" or "could be."He said "will be."Being favored and actually doing the deed are two different things, but the perception has indeed changed. It is the reality that Al Golden must work on this offseason. We can talk about the re
Subjectivity and Objectivity occur all the time when buyers are house hunting. I regularly used these two literary terms in graduate school, in my literature studies. I had to apply these terms to my literary research of novels, and essays. I had to determine which characters or heroes represented subjectivity and which, objectivity, and I had to prove my findings.
How to be subjective and object in when house hunting:
Every time we view a structure, or a lot that we like, we get emotional, and desirous of having that property. We view things subjectively, from the “me now” perspective. We think we have to have that. Much of what we buy is an emotional and therefore, a subjective experience. I remember when I was a school teacher, I often graded the kids subjectively, not just objectively. I did this because each student to me, to my viewpoint, is not a number, a rating, a grade, but instead, a human being with a unique way of learning and viewing the world. There
Currency Trading Success - Be Objective NOT Subjective or Lose Your Equity Quickly
If you want to make money from forex trading and achieve currency trading success you need to make sure your forex trading strategy is objective as possible and keeps subjectivity out. Many traders make the mistake of including to much subjectivity in their trading plan and lose; lets look at why this can be fatal.
Why Subjectivity will ensure you lose. Many traders need to make a lot of subjective judgements about their trading signals before executing them – The problem is, the subjectivity that they have in their judgements sees their emotions come into play and they lose.
Let’s look at an example. Elliot wave and cycles are supposed to objective yet you have to spot the set ups and make subjective judgements. This means that you can be tempted to over ride signals, take signals you shouldn’t and generally let your emotions dictate your forex trading strategy. The same goes for tho

MENTAL STATUS: "Uncomfortable". My dentist made me a temporary piece in my mouth for the tooth I had pulled. It's a cross between dentures and a retainer. Lovely. It makes my mouth sore and gives me headaches. The good news? I only have to wear it for 3 to 5 months, and I suppose things could be a lot worse. After reading Kristin Nelson's blog last night, I had renewed hope in my writing. She went on to post two "no" responses from different editors on a book (she obviously loved) that she'd submitted for a client. As depressing/frustrating/maddening something like that must be for that writer, it gave me (a newbie, non-agented writer) a lot of hope. This business IS very subjective. Sometimes I forget that just because you have an agent that loves your work, it doesn't mean an editor will love your work. Or even readers will love your work.Although I heard stories like that before, it's nice to have that reality check again. It actually gives me the confidence to start submitting a

This is why I miss college. You're expected to spend 15-18 hours a week in class, then you have some homework,
Oops....no issues with objectivity here...Jonah Goldberg, blogging at The Corner at NRO posted a link to an AP article regarding the approval of a $463.5 billion spending bill. From The Corner:"Here's the opening of an "objective" AP news story: WASHINGTON - The House passed a $463.5 billion spending bill Wednesday that covers about one-sixth of the federal budget as Democrats cleared away the financial mess they inherited from Republicans."I wouldn't imagine this would influence anyone adversely....it's in the news...it must be fact....
