My toes are not quite ready for these shoes, but how cute are they nonetheless? I still want ‘em. And, I’d rather buy them now before spring hits because when warm weather hits, no one will be the wiser. Girls will ask, “Where did you get those?” My answer: “Hmmm … Not sure, someone gave [...]

Just my two cents–I agree with the judges. I think Simon Cowell was right on and though I’m pulling for David Cook, as ge seems to have talent and brains, the thinking-man’s rocker. But David Archuleta stomped him and the others. Sayesha Mercado sings beautifully and really has stage presence, but she [...]
This post is mainly for those of us in the eastern Great Lakes and the North East the past few days where the weather has been well “Perfect.” (I used the term “nearly” to describe the night I was at the Rochester Red Wings Baseball game on Friday night and took a lot of flack [...]
How can I possibly be expected to handle work on a day like today? The weather is finally beautiful out this week and it is very difficult to get much of anything done. Willard and the others are almost ready to start the process of getting outdoors for the spring. Check back tomorrow to [...]

What?
I look as smooth as a new baby’s bottom?
Oh, stop now. I’m blushing!
You, too, are looking [...]

Did you hear the one about the Wisconsin family who woke up one April 12th morning to snow flurries?
And then the mom stabbed herself in the eye with one of the toothpicks she was using to prop them open in the hopes that she was only having a nightmare and that the longest winter [...]
I have a case of spring fever like I've never had before. This winter was the second most snowfall in recorded history here in New Hampshire. We had a total of 117.1 inches of snow in the state capital of Concord, NH. The top five snowiest winters on record were:1. 122.0 inches 1873/742. 117.1 inches 2007/083. 115.0 inches 1872/734. 112.4 inches 1995/965. 111.0 inches 1886/87That's a very impressive snow total especially considering all the talk these days about "global warming". Don't ask me my opinion because I'll be going off for days on the subject. Anyway, people here in New Hampshire are dying to get out and enjoy our yards once all this snow finally melts. Last week I thought we were all set and then this week it snowed a couple more times. It's pretty impressive to think that 117.1

Boy, do I have a case of spring fever, especially since the weather is at a perfect 72 degrees in Kansas City today - much warmer than it has been in MONTHS! Of course I had to go to work today, but it was still nice to know spring has officially arrived. (Sadly I think the forecast for this weekend is snow - welcome to the Midwest!)In the latter half of the day, I attended an IABC luncheon/seminar about social media. The speaker was informative and topical, but what really struck me during the event was all the pregnant ladies attending - I swear there were five others plus me. With about 10 eight-top tables, I'm estimating 80 attendees, so 1/15 at the event were expecting. Isn't that crazy? With fashion these days, it's harder to tell if someone is pregnant or not, but I am fairly confi
With the time change behind us already this year, spring has arrived in Branson. Rising temperatures and longer days we will soon have blooming dogwoods, redbuds, wildflowers, and forsythia. Spring in Branson has always been an exciting time and this year is no exception. Here are a few special events that are happening in addition [...]
I feel like a fair weather blogger, in reverse. When the weather is crappy and I'll I want to do is hunker down on my couch with a cup of coffee and my laptop I find safe haven in the blogosphere. But on days like today, 80 degrees and blue skies, the last thing I want to do is slave over a computer writing pithy or verbose posts about... Well, I have no idea what about. That's the point. My
I'm getting antsy. I want to plant flowers. I want to go browse through the garden centers. I think we'll put in petunias along the front wall again. They always do well and add nice color. But, before we do that, we need to edge the grass.I also want a bleeding heart (to go with my bleeding thumb LOL!) Seriously though, isn't this pretty? We're also going to get some tulip and daffodils in the fall for planting.
Dear Useless Men,I'm so confused. Just exactly which of the following is the true meaning of "spring fever"? 1) the dang cold bug that everyone gets in the spring 2) the crazed sex acts of wild animals and prom goers 3) the urgency to take down the dusty curtains and wash them, the windows and the window sills...carefully picking out the dead fly wings from the rag 4) the desire to plant things in the dirt, check on the things previously planted and pretend you are warm enough without your coat while doing so or is there another definition? please help me! you think it's bad being useless, try being confused! ms. CreekDear Ms. Creek, The answer is none of the above. And if you think it’s bad being useless, you don’t know useless. It’s really rather easy being useless. It’s much easier than being confused. Allow me to massage that confusion into a tech shop ashtray. Everything I made in tech shop became an ashtray. I don’t know why. In fact, I feel bad that my mo
It's warmer here today and I'm thrilled (we had the windows open yesterday!) but I'm dying for it to be genuinely spring. I can feel myself getting mad as a hatter, even as I type. I need warmth! And sunshine! And fresh air! I'm compensating by planning wildly for the wondrousness that shall be the new house. (The living room is definitely going to be Tiffany blue.)I'm also crocheting like a madwoman. That yarn that I posted a couple of days ago is rug yarn, so it's getting made up into a little round multicolored rug that will be perfect in the office. I'm also trying to find more in pink and white and red to make a rug for the kitchen. I think for that I might actually end up using fabric strips because it will just be easier.Le sister left this morning, much to my dismay. I mean, she HAD to leave (she starts the new job on Monday) but why couldn't she just live out here and be fabulous with me? Apparently I'm rather hyper when my sisters are around, though, so I'm sure the
I got it bad, y'all. Every time I go outside these days, I start smiling like the Kool Ade Man and thinking of happy shit. It's funny how sunny days and 70 degree weather affects my mood so much.
Apparently, my hormones didn't get the memo that I'm a grown-ass man, cause I've been breaking my neck checking out every sexy woman that works in the general vicinity of my job. I blame this on the
And the latest issue of Adorn isn't helping much! Inspired by them, I want to go on an apron making spree. Maybe this pattern (The full-length one in the middle with pockets!) in this fabric? Or this. Or this. Or one of these.le sigh. Must. Not. Click. "purchase now."
