For automakers hoping to cash in on rising fuel costs, the Toyota Prius is a good benchmark: The funky hatchback has sold more than half a million copies in the U.S. to date. So it’s no surprise that when our spy photographers caught Honda developing and testing its all-new small hybrid, a Prius was parked nearby. The Honda’s visual similarities to a Prius are marked when seen together. They

Something worth noting is the absence of Kia's new corporate grille that is found in the Forte and Lotze Innovation.

The 2009 Acura TSX was spotted and caught with a cell phone camera. As you can see in the picture, the car is more rounded and is larger than the previous model. When the BMW M3 sedan made its debut, we knew based on its two door counterpart,'s performance that it would be fast. But this is one bit of ground we didn't anticipate the V8 super-sedan would cover quite so quickly: Barely on the market already, the M3 Sedan is getting a facelift. These latest spy shots from Germany reveal the 2009 Mercedes E63 AMG in closer detail than ever. Benz’s next super-saloon, also depicted above in Autocar’s exclusive rendered image, will be powered by the company’s 6.2-litre V8 when it debuts at the Frankfurt Motor Show in autumn 2009 and should offer in excess of 550bhp. These spy shots show a completely undisguised version of the new Vauxhall Insignia hatchback. Expected to account for as much as 75 per cent of Insignia sales in Europe, the hatchback variant of Vauxhall’s Mondeo rival looks very similar to its saloon sibling. These shots show that the hatch can be differentiated only by its more angled D-pillar and some subtly different shutlines. Porsche's new baby has taken its first steps! This is a forthcoming little brother for the Cayenne SUV – which we've spied testing at the Nurburgring circuit in Germany for the first time.Based on platform architecture shared with Audi's Q5, the compact SUV is the next logical step in the expansion of Porsche's range. Buoyed by the success of the Cayenne, the smaller version will compete with BMW's X3 and Land Rover's Freelander, offering a sportier driving experience than both. As you can see from these spy shots of a prototype wearing a Cayenne body as a disguise, the new model is shorter and narrower. It will feature four-wheel drive and will share engines with the Q5, including a 3.2-litre V6 petrol and even the possibilty of diesel power for the first time too.The new model is expec
Under the camo is Chevy's all new Cobalt sedan, scheduled to debut as a 2010 model. Codenamed GMX071, the next-gen Cobalt will begin production at GM's Lordstown plant in July or August of next year. A coupe version will also be available. These pix reveal a contemporary new design direction for the Cobalt. The now-familiar two-tier Chevy grille dominates the front end, and the bodyside is delineated by a sharp boneline rising to the rear below a twisting concave surface that hints of current BMW 5-series. The trunk is well hidden, but the logical extension of the bodyside treatment suggests a raised central section and mild shoulders over rear wheel openings. But what's more important is what's under the skin: The new Cobalt is one of the first cars to come off GM's new global compact vehic
Some of the best spy photos we've seen yet of the new upcoming entry-level Ferrari (known internally as the F149) have cropped up on Ferrari enthusiast forum, FerrariChat. The photos, apparently taken by an unnamed member of a U.K.-based forum, show the F149 making its way through Maranello city streets still wearing some camouflage, but not nearly as much as in previous photos. Overall, the car has lost some of its 599GTB-like features (previous shots showed a car almost identical to the 599), though the long hood and shorter tail fairly well mimic Ferrari's flaghship V-12 entry. As mentioned by FerrariChat forum members, we too can see a little more of the previous generation 550/575 in this development mule (horse?).In any case, you can expect the F149 to finally make its d
Citroen's new supermini-MPV is loaded with style! The upcoming people carrier, which bosses at the French company are confident will go straight to the top of the class, was snapped this week virtually undisguised by our spies in France. And the distinctive high-mounted tail-lights which mark out the newcomer are clear to see in our picture. Rumoured to be badged Monospace, the MPV will be based on the same platform as the all-new C3 hatchback, which was revealed by Auto Express in Issue 1,008.The Monospace takes its styling cues from the C4 Picasso. The front end will feature large headlights, chunky bumpers and the trademark double-chevron grille, while at the rear the screen opens independently of the tailgate. A central instrument binnacle will dominate the dashboard, and expect interio
This next-generation Audi S4 could be the super-saloon that ends the German power wars. Our spies have caught the 2010 S4 undergoing high-speed testing at the Nurburgring and sources suggest that there’s a supercharged 3.0-litre V6 under the bonnet instead of the current model’s V8. Insiders tell us that Audi wants to reduce the weight and improve the fuel economy of its new S4, while offering performance that’s on a par with the current models.Meanwhile, it looks as though the range-topping RS4, likely to arrive in 2011, will retain its V8 in an effort to separate the appeal of the two variants. Audi sees the new S4 as a rival for the likes of BMW’s 335i while the next RS4 will take the fight to the M3. (Thanks to Autocar for News and Pictures).
The only sign that this mule isn't a run-of-the-mill Lincoln Navigator is dual exhaust coming out the passenger side of the Ford SUV, a fairly clear indication that Ford's new 4.4-liter diesel engine is lurking under the Navigator's hood. Eariler today an F-150 mule was also caught prowling around, also with the diesel on board.Details of the 4.4-liter V-8, which will also appear in many of the expected places such as the F-150, Super Duty, and E-Series large vans, were leaked earlier this month after a recent Ford dealer meeeting. The engine is closely related to the 3.6-liter turbodiesel installed in European Jaguars and Land Rovers and is being designed in-house to be built at the automaker's Chihuahua, Mexico engine plant.Compared to the current 5.4-liter V-8 found in many of Ford's la

Sent in by "KCM", I received two exclusive images of the production Chevy Beat/Daewoo Matiz out in the buffs. The eye candy here is the fact that, albeit showing only the front fascia, the prototype spotted is undisguised (not fully, but close). Due to go on sale in various markets by 2009, the upcoming subcompact car designed by the folks at GMDAT will retain nearly all the prominent cues of the
This is a mystery GM prototype snapped wearing Swedish registration plates – but although it’s a similar size to next year’s long-awaited replacement for the Saab 9-5, we believe that it’s a new Holden lurking under the disguise.According to registration details this car is a Holden, and the shape of the grille opening and the large circular badge clearly visible under the front disguise seem to back that up – it’s possible that this is a close-to-production prototype of Holden’s version of GM’s new large front-drive family of vehicles.According to the database attached to this particular licence plate, this car is 485cm long, 180cm wide and weighs 1650kg. It has a 260bhp engine (probably a V6 unit) driving an automatic gearbox and rolls on 245/45 R18 wheels. If it is a Hol
The wagon variant of the Cadillac CTS has been caught testing ahead of its likely debut at the Paris Show in October, where it will probably be shown with the new 250hp, 406lb ft 2.9-liter V-6 turbo-diesel that will be critical for CTS' success in the European market. The CTS wagon will be produced along side the sedan and coupe versions at the Lansing Grand River Assembly Plant in Michigan starting in the spring of 2009. Production volume is expected to be around 10,000-12,000 vehicles, with the majority destined for Europe. The CTS wagon has been the subject of huge debate within GM. Execs with a North American focus couldn't see the point of doing a wagon because volumes would be small; more global oriented execs realized a wagon had a lot more acceptance in Europe, and would help grow (w

GM's next MPV was photographed testing in the United States. The 7-seater Toyota Innova look alike might well be GM's answer to the forthcoming Tata Indiva and Mahindra Ingenio. According to the photographers, the car's development was done entirely in GM's South Korean facility.Built on GM's delta chassis, this car is slated for production in mid 2009. Due to the absence of any sort of protection up front, the shooters noticed an intercooler under the bonnet, which confirms its turbocharged-diesel heart. They also say that this car will be rebadged as Daewoos and Opels and sold in different markets. Is Lexus finally on track with it's supercar-rivalling LF-A?. Our spies caught this special racing prototype testing at the famous Nurburgring.Although a production version of the exciting 200mph two-seater is due until 2009, performance fans will get a glimpse of a competition version this year.Sources within the company claim that the V10-powered coupe is set to make its public debut in May's Nurburgring 24 hour endurance race.As you can see, the car has been tweaked to give it an edge on the circuit. At the front is a deeper front bumper with larger holes to aid high-speed cooling.Move around to the rear and you'll spot the tall carbon fibre rear wing and large triple exhausts above a F1-style diffuser. The Invicta is said to hint at the next-generation LaCrosse, which will be built off the second-generation Epsilon (Chevy Malibu/Pontiac G6/Saturn Aura/Saab 9-3) platform, but really, what showgoers will see Saturday is pretty much the real car. Its styling, says GM interior design chief Dave Lyon, will feature modern interpretations of the Buick portholes (or "ventiports" as they were called in the '50s) and the "sweepspear," the asymmetric v-shaped profile accent found on many of the brand's cars in the '50s and '60s.With the Invicta, Buick designers have taken last year's Riviera concept even further, Lyon says, making "a very aggressive, very chic four-door concept with a low roofline." These are the pictures that prove Saab is getting serious about the development of its new SUV. So say hello to the new 9-4X - which made its debut at the Detroit Auto Show as a biopower badged concept car.Codenamed GMT168, the Saab 9-4X will arrive in time for the 2010 model year. Sharing the platform with the upcoming Cadillac BRX, the Theta-Epsilon based Saab will be built in at the Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico. And unlike the 9-7X, this will be sold globally. Styling – as you can easily see – will be very close to that of the concept, and powerplants will include a range of petrol units, as well as a new 250bhp diesel. The 9-4X will also offer Saab’s XWD all-wheel-drive system.
Porsche engineers were out in full gear, with a parade of at least 5 prototypes, giving photographers more chances to take pictures of the Panamera. The entry-level powerplant will be...

Blackheath, England (ThaLunatic Daily) -- Micky Smith, a 47 year old accused of continually harassing neighbors and peeping at under-aged girls has been released from jail. Worse, he's been allowed to move right back in to the same duplex where he peeped before.Kayleigh White, a 16 year old girl, who lived next to a peeping tom who spied on her, has been forced to leave her home, thanks to an early release from British authorities who are allowing the pervert the right to move right back in.Micky Smith, who shared a duplex with White's family, removed bricks that separated the attics of the twin dwellings. This allowed Smith to crawl above Kayleigh's bedroom, where he drilled holes in the ceiling above her bed.Kayleigh first noticed something strange when she awoke to find plaster dus

The forthcoming Chevrolet Camaro has already been causing excitement in America, but what looks like a prototype of the high-performance ‘SS’ version has crossed the Atlantic for a testing session at the Nurburgring. The new muscle car goes on sale in the ‘States early next year but hasn’t been confirmed for sale in Europe. GM hasn’t announced any plans to engineer a right-hand drive version, but sources within GM UK say that British bosses are battling hard for us to get a version with the steering wheel reversed - something Ford hasn’t done with the current-generation Mustang. The standard Camaro will be available with both V6 and V8 powerplants, with the SS likely to get a 400bhp version of GM’s 6.0-litre ‘LS2’ V8 engine. The original Camaro SS was one of the first muscle
Ford’s extreme pickup, the F-150 Raptor, is becoming more real by the minute, presumably with the long-awaited Boss V-8 engine under the hood. Here are the latest spy shots of the monster truck that is expected to go on sale as a 2010 or 2011 model, restoring our faith in Ford for recognizing the need for specialty performance vehicles and for resurrecting plans for a Hemi-fighting V-8.The camo’d mule in an F-150 body was caught by photographers about the same time that Ford officials in Vegas—there for the automaker’s 2008 Dealer Show—were teasing their audience with video footage of a Raptor mule bombing across the desert at high speeds. Ford’s new marketing chief Jim Farley reportedly was downright giddy as a picture of the production grille was shown, with the Ford name stam
Don't be fooled by the disguise – this previous-generation Focus is the latest mule for the scorching new Focus RS, due next spring for around £25,000. Our spies caught the hot hatch putting in some blistering laps around a test track. And this shot proves that the RS is in for some serious aerodynamic treatment. The untidy masking at the front suggests Ford is planning to add a sizeable spoiler to help keep the RS sticking to the asphalt – and it’s the same story at the rear. Rigid, low suspension and beefy brakes provide sharp handling, while the 280bhp 2.5-litre turbo engine will deliver a 0-60mph time of around five seconds.
Our latest photos from the Nurburgring reveal the 2011 Vauxhall Astra going through high-speed testing at the famous German circuit. This disguised prototype is underpinned by General Motor’s new global Delta platform, which is also used as a base for the electric-hybrid Chevrolet Volt concept car. This commonality makes it very likely that the next-generation Astra will offer a version of the Chevrolet’s low-emissions E-Flex powertrain, possibly combined with the familiar 1.3 CDTi diesel engine. This could make it the greenest vehicle in its class, with Prius-beating CO2 emissions. As for conventional engines, like the one powering this test mule, we can also expect a range of new high-efficiency turbocharged petrol engines along with some familiar diesel powerplants from the rest of the
Nissan, you’re killing us. So far only the lucky few have driven the ever-so-hot 2009 Nissan GT-R that doesn’t go on sale in the U.S. until June—and now the Japanese automaker is teasing us with something better. Our test numbers have the GT-R scorching the asphalt from 0 to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds and passing the quarter-mile mark in 11.5 seconds at 124 mph. With numbers like that, the car obviously is in dire need of a higher-performance version.Indeed, one of our spy photographers has snapped what could be (we can only hope) a prototype for a GT-R Spec V as it was being unloaded from a truck at Nissan’s Nürburgring workshop. This does not appear to be an ordinary GT-R (not that ordinary should ever precede the noun GT-R), as the test car reveals subtle differences. We admit we expe
These are the first shots of Toyota’s new mid-sized MPV, the Verso, being put through its paces before launch next year. The current Verso has only been on sale since 2004, being a heavy facelift of the 2001 Corolla Verso. The forthcoming new car seems to have grown compared to the existing one, and it will share the same seven-seat layout that has become essential for mid-sized MPVs. It will also share its core architecture and running gear with the Auris hatchback.Other details are sketchy at present, but it’s believed the new Verso will go on sale during the first half of next year.
The Saturn Aura is about to become obsolete. GM's European wing has officially leaked photos of disguised Opel Insignias on test. Insignia replaces the Vectra, which is the Aura's donor car. The Insignia will be revealed at the London Motor Show on July 22.Insignia is the first car on GM's new global Epsilon platform, which provides replacements for the Chevy Malibu and Pontiac G6, Saab's 9-3 and 9-5, Cadillac BLS sedan/BLT wagon in Europe, a Korean-built car sold as a Suzuki, a Holden in Australia and the next-generation Buick LaCrosse."All of these cars will be radically different from each other but they will all use common engineering solutions," Bob Lutz told us at Geneva. "They're going to be so different in aesthetics and driving characteristics, so it's not one car dressed up in di
Our spies have lifted the lid on the next-generation BMW Z4 – and the big news is that it’s getting a folding metal roof for the first time! Look closely at these prototypes, and you’ll see that instead of a fabric affair, the new Z4 is following in the footsteps of its 3-Series Convertible big brother, plus its Mercedes SLK rival, with a retractable steel top. As our artist’s impression shows, the car will also get a more muscular look. And the convertible has another trick up its sleeve. BMW isn’t content with raining on the SLK’s parade, as it will seek to outgun the Porsche Boxster with a new range of powerful engines for the car. These are likely to include the twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre straight six-cylinder unit. There’s even the possibility that the Z4 will be availa
