As posted over at /Film, a two hour prequel for this upcoming season is currently in production.  To my knowledge, they’re filming in Africa at the moment, or at least were recently.  However, Robert Carlyle has confirmed to Premiere that the two hour prequel takes place in real time and the the end of [...]

      A Sounding Board
I realized today that much of what I do involves me in being a sounding board.  I am a sounding board for my buyer clients and my seller clients.  They both certainly have frustrations.   Thebuyer looks and looks for the home of their dreams.  Then they find it and decide to put their offer in.  There may be other offers going in at the same time.&

      6 Healthy-Sounding Foods That Really Aren't
Many foods have been heavily promoted as being healthy. But not all of them are. Here are some foods which are much less good for you than most people believe. Energy bars Energy bars usually contain protein and fiber, but they may also be loaded with calories. That’s fine if you occasionally make one a meal, but most people eat them as snacks. Granola Granola sounds healthy. But it’s often hi

Stephen King sounding a lot like John Kerry: what a chump!
He said: I don’t want to sound like an ad, a public service ad on TV, but the fact is if you can read, you can walk into a job later on. If you don’t, then you’ve got, the Army, Iraq, I don’t know, something like that. It’s, it’s not as bright. So, that’s my [...]

Yanks Sounding Like A Beaten Bunch
From Bob Klapisch:More and more, the Yankees’ season is taking on the colorless hue of an 85-win finish, not good enough for October, not bad enough to be catastrophic. The players are either too young or too old, hardly anyone in their prime. Senior management won’t dare use the taboo “R” word, not as it tries to keep 4 million fans pouring through the turnstiles, but the veterans will privately tell you otherwise: for all the hype of a monster year, the Bombers are already on a long, flat road to nowhere.“You can just see, everyone here is trying to figure out what the [heck] is going on,” is what one of the clubhouse elders was saying. The words weren’t meant as criticism, just an observation about a franchise that’s suddenly lost its compass.Another veteran said, “Wit

Famous-Sounding Words Make Your Head Feel Light (Revisited)
funny album coverTo be blunt, a major part of blogging is reading other blogs. There isn't one blogger out there who doesn't read another blog. It doesn't even end there, bloggers read dozens of blogs. DOZENS! I know, its crazy, I have no idea why we do it, but we do. I see a lot of things on my bloggy adventures, some are quite stupid, others are great, and most of them are pretty cool. I recommend all of you to go out and read mulitple great blogs, you do learn a lot. I'll recommend some readings from time to time, but today I want to recommend some remix I've found on some great music blogs (through hypem or elbo.ws).If you've stuck with PrettyMuchAmazing! thus far, you are well aware of my insatiable fascination with remixes. There are so many sounds and vibes out there, it's crazy. Remixes are my holy grail, they come before covers, mashups, even the original track itself. Here are a handful of remixes that I've found to be quite amazing.Spoon - Don't You Evah (Diplo Remi

Guitar Chord Lesson: Learn To Play Nice Sounding Guitar Chords In D
By: Peter EdvinssonA guitar is an amazing instrument. Sometimes hard to play but with easy nice sounding guitar chord secrets everywhere. Let's explore some easy but nice guitar chords. Our first guitar chord will be Dmaj7. It is played in this way for example:Dmaj: 0/4 2/3 2/2 2/1An explanation of the notation. The first number indicates which fret to press down. The number after the slash which string. 2/3 means, press down the second fret on the third string. If you lift up your fingers from this chord you will get a very easy guitar chord to play indeed! We can call it an Em7. It will look this way:Em7: 0/4 0/3 0/2 0/1This little chord progression makes a nice little intro to a song in D-major. If we write down a little guitar chord sequense it might look like this:Dmaj7 / / / Em7 / / / Dmaj7 / / / Em7 / / /We will now spice the second chord a bit by playing a Gm6. It looks like this:Gm6: 0/4 3/3 3/2 0/1We can use this guitar chord in an intro with the same function as the one above

How To Sell Your Services Without Sounding Pushy
Selling your services successfully without sounding pushy is a skill that divides the successful marketing person from the not successful one.Even on the internet it is possible to “sound” pushy when trying to sell as much products or services as possible. A website jam packed with blinking banners and no real information is a sure fire way to put people off, and move on to the next website. (more…) advertising, marketer, selling services online

Yucky Sounding Sandwich was an Elvis Favorite
No wonder Elvis started to gain weight. One of his favorite sandwiches doesn’t sound that great to me, plus it has more than 9,000 calories. It’s dubbed the Fool’s Gold Loaf. Supposedly, Presley loved this combination that sounds sick to me: peanut butter, jelly and bacon. It’s served at a Colorado restaurant called the Colorado Mine Company that’s located in Denver. Either it’s true, or it’s a very clever marketing scheme. Story goes that he actually flew to Denver with Lisa Marie just to get one. On his private jet, of course. The restaurant owner made a special welcome and brought them 22 sandwiches. They never even had to get out of the plane (but I think it would’ve been more fun to). Supposedly the trip cost over $15k and who knows how many pounds. Some call for as few as 2 tablespoons of butter, while others call for much more. I’m not sure what kind of jelly to use. There is a recipe book that’s just full of Elvi&rsquo

      sounding odd
This morning went well at Lanark I think.  I eventually got something to say (thanks for all your suggestions and support!) and was working with all the powerpoint, video and sound.  I have to say it is such a big space that when you stand behind the speakers it sounds very odd!  I hope the rest of the monitors arrive soon to give some more fill!  As a result I’m not sure how I sounded which is kind of strange when you’re preaching. People were really welcoming and I had met some before when I was guest preacher at the joint Holy Week services when I preached about Mary of Bethany and Judas (it’s in my BOX if you want to read it). I’m at my dad’s churches next week… and the texts are about Mary and Martha!  Looking forward to that!

      Sounding off
Now that the old Grand Trunk Western Railroad will be a train horn abatement area from 87th and Kedzie to 103rd Street just north of Mount Greenwood (joining an abatement area on the old Baltimore and Ohio Railroad from 87th to 99th along Maplewood near Beverly), area residents will be able to sleep a little easier. Both abatement areas have been created at the request of the Village of Evergreen Park. Is there a need for the city to request such an abatement for both lines as they continue through Mount Greenwood and Beverly?

[2001] Avenged Sevenfold - Sounding The Seventh Trumpet (Mp3 Download)
Review by Jason D. Taylor @ allmusic.com Avenged Sevenfold has crafted a tremendous variation of metalcore, inflecting the traditional metal sound with outrageous bursts of hardcore fury and mesmerizing wails more likely found in the European vein of death metal. These elements together create an amazing but lethal crush on the listener, leaving one breathless after such feats. Sounding

How to write without sounding self serving
Michael writes :How can I write my title without sounding self serving? This question comes up often. David Eason, asks, "What is the best way to identify a problem and solution in a title without pointing fingers at competitors' equivalent products and without sounding like a press release for your own product?" Simply put, do not mention your company or product in the title. It is also better to focus on benefits in titles rather than problems. For example, if you were selling high speed video processors that are 25 percent faster than the competition, you might want to say something like this: "Accelerating Video Processing: The Case for Next Generation Video Chips" This would be preferable to some problem title, like "The Downside to Current Video Processors" or a company focused title, like "XYZ Chip's New Speed Processor Accelerates Video" By focusing on benefits, you actually draw your reader in.

      "Re-sounding the Rain"
Copenhagen 5-piece Cinnober has just released a new EP called Re-Sound and all 3 tracks of it are available as free downloads from the band's webpage (now wake up people - this is exactly the right way to promote your music, if you want it to be heard!). Those of you who are already familiar with the band won't be disappointed, because the songs are just as jazz inspired, pleasant-sounding and beautiful as always, although the brilliant title track flirt heavily with a more rocking sound. The rest of you, who have never heard of Cinnober, should hurry up and get to know this really fine Danish band! Finally I owe to mention that the photo was taken by Morten Melhede!+ Re-Sound+ Fate Is Out (To Get Me)Oscillating Brushhead is a one-man musical (and part time) project by German DJ Cord, but unlike other DJ's he's (thankfully) not experimenting with Electronica, Dance etc. Instead Cord seems to have "healthy" love for the Shoegaze genre and for several years he has been writing songs
