I haven't updated everyone on our snowball lately, and since we did pay off the two Wells Fargo cards this month, it has grown. I am truly amazed at how fast it has grown and how much it is helping to pay down our debt. Currently, the snowball is at $1560!!!! How amazing is that?!? The snowball is actually larger than my after tax monthly salary. That speaks to two things: (1) My pay kind of sucks

I've been inspired to participate in Throwback Thursday (is it Thursday already?...this snow has me all jumbled) because our previous home in Michigan was actually on T.V. last night via our ex-neighbors.So, its not actually the house that is famous but our Wife Swapping ex-neighbors. It was fun to see that tree we planted sprout (just a little), tour the old neighborhood when Tuesday ran away from home, and get a sneak peak into our neighbors lives for 60 minutes. Here is AJ two years ago (in February) outside our previous house. It was his first snowman and boy was he proud.
The big picture opens with an icicle-sparkling trolling camera sequence of lush red warm Santa's village, elves busy at work on the toys, dancing and happy, praising Santa, "I love you more than my own head," "I love you more than track lighting." This sequence brings back memories of childhood holiday specials then enlarges them into a 3D world that you could almost step into. And the fresh silly humor brings yet another rich dimension to the experience. Then we're introduced to the lonely snowman who has no friends and therefore can't even speak. He just plays his flute, until, oops, he drops it and decides to replace it with one from the nearby elf toy factory. This immediately prompts a breach in Santa security and initiates a winter wonderland war at times (intentionally) mocking the l

We wrap up our week of music from Children’s Christmas shows with this old favorite.
Down to the village,
With a broomstick in his hand,
Running here and there all
Around the square saying,
Catch me if you can.
He led them down the streets of town
Right to the traffic cop.
And he only paused a moment when
He heard him holler “Stop!”
For Frosty the snow man
Had to hurry on his way,
But he waved goodbye saying,
“Don’t you cry,
I’ll be back again some day.”
Thumpetty thump thump,
Thumpety thump thump,
Look at Frosty go.
Thumpetty thump thump,
Thumpety thump thump,
Over the hills of snow.

I thought it was a great idea so I sent her brother out as well, which is how we ended up with a killer snowman scene in our front yard. (Yes the neighbors will love us). Not wanting to overload you with photos last night I posted Coffeekids then and now, I give you BabyGirls. We dedicate it to the ExBoyfriend. My 16 year old still builds snowmen....Dedicated to the special guy in her life... hee hee
Metastatic liver cancer takes a patient… like the sun takes a snowman…:
if it freezes, the snowman does not melt, stays the same, yet will never get bigger.
if it gets warmer a bit, the snowman melts a bit
on a hot sunny day: the snowman melts a lot…
Last few days, it seems like fathers cancer [...]

Treasuers Holiday Show
opens on Thursday, December 14th at the Gallery at 85 Main Street in Centerbrook, CT. Many of the galllery's resident artists are contributing small paintings to decorate a "Giving Tree" and sales of the small works will benefit a Women's and Children's Shelter in Hartford, CT. It looks like the opening is going to be a well attended and successful event orchestrated by owner and artist Gylnnis Sorrentino. If you are in the area and would like to attend, please email me and I will have your name added to the guest list. The evening promises to be filled with holiday cheer, delicious food and drink, and the very best art on the Connecticut shoreline. The resident artists, including myself will be there, and we would love to meet you and talk with you about
The holiday sweaters are out in full force at work. This outfit didn't start out as a protest, but I'm certainly glad I look more autumnal than Christmassy. For once I'm not wearing much vintage! The belt is the only piece. I'm not entirely happy with the white tshirt under the vest; I'll have to find a better bottom layer before I rewear this look. IT'S CHRISTMAS #16The Cocteau Twins did a great version of 'Frosty The Snowman' which was released in 1992. It was originally on the various artists compilation 'Volume 5'. Here it is today as my christmas choice.Cocteau Twins - Frosty The Snowman
This Christmas I noticed a snow globe at my parent's house in Oklahoma. It's a snowman warming his hands over a campfire. This is disturbing, isn't it? Would it be wrong to call such a snowman slightly suicidal?I found some other such snowmen online, pictures posted below.
