      P.Diddy Snags Leona Lewis’ Talents
Sean Combs only likes to work with the best of the best, so it’s no shocker that he wants Leona Lewis to collaborate with him on his upcoming album. Oh, and the fact that she’s drop dead gorgeous probably offers some nice eye candy to the Puffy Diddy Puff (or whatever he goes by now) He [...]

Planex DigiJuke NAS snags YouTube and BitTorrent video -- jams it down the Wii, Xbox 360, iPod... and throat of MPAAHere it is copyright bandits, the single biggest reason (besides silicone) to make a Hollywood studio notice you: the MZK-NAS02SG1T network attached storage device from Planex. The main selling point behind the ¥54,799 (about $524) 1TB Gigabit Ethernet block is the claim to 'universal access' for all your devices. That little trick comes courtesy of its DigiJuke browser for searching and tagging the BitTorrent and YouTube content you want downloaded in the appropriate PSP and iPod (MPEG-4), Wii (FLV), or TV (MPEG-2) format for in-home or on-the-go viewing. The NAS also streams audio and video to your iTunes laptops or desktops, DLNA TV, Xbox 360, or other compliant device in

      Obama snags Mississippi
He's gaining by the minute. Obama Wins Mississippi (via MSNBC) NBC News declared Barack Obama as the projected winner in the Mississippi primary on Tuesday, the latest in a string of racially polarized contests across the Deep South and a final tune-up before April's high-stakes race with Hillary Rodham Clinton in Pennsylvania. Obama was winning roughly 90 percent of the black vote but only about one-third of the white vote, extending a pattern that carried him to victory in earlier primaries in South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia and Louisiana. I think, considering what Hillary Clinton's surrogate said about Barack Obama, This is just payback. I mean, Hillary, I believe is trying to cause division in the Democrat Party. I think it's immature and shows much about her. Senator Ob

Writing Snags: What do you do?
Problems with writing have struck me again. This isn't as bad as it sounds, but here's an update anyway. The Lies of Venicia is on hold at the moment. I'm still writing it, but I'm needing to re-evaluate where I want it to go. I have two very different storylines going on and I've hit that point where I need a transitional period. I may try to add a fourth POV to the story, but that might extend the word count well beyond the 90,000ish word mark I was shooting for. I want it to be a relatively short, less-epic novel. I'll figure it out though, don't you worry.Asher is a short story I'm basically finished writing, but I mentioned having a problem with it. My girlfriend didn't get it. I'm thinking about either rewriting it or assuming that it is simply a 'she-doesn't-read-SF' problem, which means the story might still be good. I'm leaning somewhat in the latter direction, but again, if anyone reads a lot of SF that could read Asher and tell me their opinion I would

      Emilio Snags MLS MVP
D.C. United's Luciano Emilio won Major League Soccer's Most Valuable Player award, the league announced today. You've probably heard this by now--it was first reported by Steven Goff at Soccer Insider--but I'm on deadline at my dayjob on Thursdays and unfortunately do not have much time to tend to this blog. But the news itself is rather blah anyway, especially from a Red Bulls' perspective. Is Emilio more deserving than Juan Pablo Angel (who won the MVP vote on this Web site)? I don't know. Statistically, Emilio had (barely!) the better season--but he played in five games more than Angel. There shouldn't be a question that Angel was more valuable to his team, though. Obviously D.C. would have been a worse team without Emilio, but I think they still could have made the playoffs. The Red Bulls without Angel? I shudder to think about it. Angel did not only anchor this team, he carried it on his back. The dude is all class, too and seems really intelligent and well-spoken (and that

      Ubisoft snags Avatar publishing rights
Ubisoft has aquired the video game publishing rights to James Cameron’s Avatar, the first endeavor from the director since 1997’s Titanic. Avatar (the movie) is about the struggle of man torn between the alien culture he has come to embrace and the planet from which he hails, all amidst an oncoming of war. Insert spectacular special effects, courtesy of WETA and Cameron’s (usually) excellent directing skills and you have all the makings of a summer blockbuster. The game will launch alongside the movie in May of 2009. As of yet, there has been no definite mention on which platform(s) the game will arrive. However, Ubisoft’s multi-platform approach to releases speaks volumes. Unless, another one of those “brilliant” temporary exclusivity arrangements is the works. -David Patterson

      Twenty Major snags book deal
In Fact, Ah had to do a double take today when we were sent a press release from the Hodder Headline publishing house. April Fool's day is just over a week away and it was assumed that some were getting ahead of themselves. But no, it's true. Twenty has been given a deal that will see him placed on bookshelves up and down the country alongside literary greats such as Cecilia Ahern. In a way, it's no surprise that Ireland's most celebrated blogger has hit the big time. Anyone who writes consistently and with purpose will be successful, whether this means landing a book deal or simply having a following who look forward to reading the blog.Up until recently, very few people knew the person behind this nom de plume. His recent outing at the Irish Blog Awards meant that the public finally got a glipse of the face behind the blog. Many questioned his motivation for revealing himself. However, the spoken and unspoken rules of the night ensured that his photo remained unpublished. That was

Red tape snags football yet again!
Not a Crewe issue (this time) but something that could very easily affect Crewe Alexandra or any other football club. I'm talking FA red tape, men in grey suits hitting the small clubs (again) because "rules are rules" and all that.Bury have been booted out of the FA Cup for fielding a player not registered by the club to play in the famous old cup competition. It's one of those ludicrous situations, where Stephen Turnbull is allowed to go on loan from Hartlepool to Bury but the FA require an additional piece of paper saying that he can also play in the FA Cup. Obviously, this wasn't done. The poor old manager at Bury, Chris Casper, held his hands up and admitted that he'd forgotten. A simple error. Bury even admitted this to the FA. The result, IMO, a heavy-handed OTT reaction that has seen Bury kicked out and Chester (the side they beat in the last round) reinstated - all because Bury had a lad playing who wasn't properly registered.Ok, so rules are in place for a reason. But th

Some technical snags to look out in Catamaran design
Recommended that you purchase your high speed power boat from reputed charter or manufacturing company to avoid these techincal design snags.. 1. Badly made deck-to-hull joints. Leading the pack of serious faults is badly made deck-to-hull joints. So much so that I have a dedicated article dealing with this rather complex subject. When buying a new or used boat, it pays to research this issue carefully. Read the article and you'll find out why. 2. Sealed off hull compartments. Meaning that the new trend in boat building is to eliminate all access to areas of the internal hull. This often results in compartments between stringers and bulkheads that are sealed off by the cabin sole. If water leaks into these compartments, this can result in filling up with water and cause deteriorat
