      Condo on Siesta Key
Our client wanted some better photos of her Peppertree condo that we are marketing. So we had our photographer go out there and do a reshoot. They turned out great in my opinion. Below are a couple of the new photos. What do you think? I am amazed at some of the grainy, dark and horrible photos that real estate agents use to market their properties. In a market like this you really need to

Take a siesta to reduce your blood pressure
www.dailyindia.comA new study has found that expecting an afternoon nap could reduce blood pressure, consequently cutting down the risk of heart attacks.Researchers at the Liverpool John Moores University in Liverpool, U.K., have discovered that the time just before one falls asleep in the afternoon is the most beneficial in reducing blood pressure and lessening the risk of cardiovascular diseases.Afternoon naps, or siestas are typically short naps or rest periods of no more than an hour that are taken in the afternoon. While earlier studies on siestas have found that this practice may slightly increase the risk of heart attack, the new study has shown an inverse relationship between siesta taking and fatal heart attacks. According to the researchers, change in blood pressure is the key factor linking afternoon naps to cardiovascular function. Some researchers hypothesize that the lower blood pressure reduces strain on the heart and decreases the risk of a fatal heart attack. The current

      The art of the siesta
If you are anything like me you are probably prone to the afternoon slump. You know, that overwhelming lethargic feeling that sets right after lunch. This postprandial dip as it is known, occurs after eating, when your blood sugar levels take a nose dive causing your body temperature to drop and leaving you feeling sleepy. Here in Spain the siesta is a cultural icon. As any full-blooded Spanish person will tell you there is a right way and a wrong way to take a siesta. Firstly, it should never last more than an hour. Ideally, you should be clocking in at somewhere between fifteen and forty minutes. If you oversleep a siesta you will wake up feeling disoriented and will most likely have problems falling asleep later on that night. The magic time of the day to take a siesta seems to be betwe

      Siesta
Twenty eight degrees in the shade before the kid's summer vacation has even begun. Pretty hot for Sweden. We have long days in the summer up in Scandinavia, maybe we ought to start taking siestas to cope with these high temperatures.

Picasso Siesta, Les Moissonneurs with Picasso Bug
click picture to enlargeOur friendly Picasso Bug is seen again interrupting a pleasant siesta. He won't understand why he won't be welcome if the field workers wake up. Original scratchboard etching inspired by the 1919 pencil drawing of the Master. The Picasso Bug is an actual insect that lives in Africa. His colorful form and unique name inspired this series. The original 1919 work of the Master was a pencil drawing and I have taken the opportunity to explore the textures and my colors, the bug and the wheat in the background as a way to express the series.Pablo Picasso's Les Moissonneurs (the Harvesters) , indicative of Picasso's new direction, is a near reduction to pure contour used to create volume. The thickness of the hands and the sleepy quality of the figures cause one to think of weighty, unmoving, ancient statuary. Even with the balance and finish in this drawing, the work is recognized as a study for a painting at the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA), called Sleeping Peasan

      Taking your Siesta during Breaks
Photo Courtesy of Pete Tillack Getting any form of sleep or shuteye even for just an hour will already have an impact towards how a person can be able to go through a day. Some may call it an act of laziness while others may attribute it towards the lack of sleep owing to the preferred lifestyle that a person would be living. But in all, siestas would be something that people would regularly want to enjoy, especially in the afternoons and regardless if they are working or not. Siestas should not be typified to long sleeping breaks to which people need to recharge their bodies of energy needed. Some would consider siestas only if they would have the time for it. Housewives or people who would find themselves in the wall of their homes can enjoy such at any time of their preference. For people at work however, the need to take such siestas is limited towards allowed breaks such as lunch breaks. Other than this, they have to find some ways to keep themselves up and about.  Further Rea
