Cambodia’s real estate market sidelines the poor
An old hospital was razed to make way for Phnom Penh’s tallest building - a 42-story twin condominium tower. A garbage-strewn slum became prime real estate after police evicted its dwellers to a parched rice field outside the capital. Cambodia is experiencing a construction boom fueled by foreign investment, particularly by South Koreans, and buying and [...]

      Love Of The Sidelines
Some of my favorite notable designers include 3.1 Phillip Lim, Alber Elbaz for Lanvin, Alberta Ferretti, Alexander Wang, Balenciaga, Chanel, Christian Lacroix, Derek Lam, Elie Saab, Giambattista Valli, Miu Miu, Olivier Theyskens for Rochas and Viktor & Rolf.Whereas I can often be found to covet the creations of the above style-givers, I find myself lusting after Marc by Marc Jacobs, Sonia By Sonia Rykiel, See By Chloé and Paul & Joe Sister more so than each of their respective main clothing lines.Above is a Marc by Marc Jacobs black double-breasted wool felt coat from AW07. I have it in grey (you can just about make it out in my profile picture) and I adore the bracelet sleeves and oversized lapel. I love wearing it with a little dress and pumps, my favorite way of looking pretty

      Players watching by the sidelines
Today's volume was very light. I woke up just before noon and saw that in the top volume list, majority of the counters did not even hit 10k in their trading volume. I guess that a lot of people are sidelining the market.Quite a lot of counters dip today and the dip was quite significant. What was strange was that the dip was on very low volume and that showed that there were very few buyers to push back the price. It was only during the end which some of the counters recovered back some ground. I'm not that worried about the dip cos it was on low volume. The market's sentiment now hinges on the outcome of the Fed meeting so it's quite pointless to discuss anyting until the outcome is revealed. One may take a bet now and place a position in the market or just sideline and watch the show :)For the Straits Times Index, it formed a hanging man candlestick today which is bearish by nature but overall, it is still supported on the 100d MA.

Former NFL Coaches Now On College Sidelines
When NFL franchises pluck a head coach from the college ranks, it has been a practice that has seen mixed results. Jimmy Johnson and Barry Switzer won Super Bowls. Steve Spurrier? Not so much. Let's take a look and see how some coaches who went from college to the NFL and back to college again are faring in their second go 'round.- Butch Davis, North Carolina: Davis was a successful coach at the University of Miami, going 49-24 before getting hired by the Cleveland Browns. In four seasons there, Davis managed to take the team to one playoff appearance before resigning in the middle of the 2004 season. He has gone on to North Carolina and has compiled a 2-5 record in his first season.- Nick Saban, Alabama: After guiding LSU to the national championship, Saban went to Miami, going 15-17 befo

Buyers On The Sidelines Hurt Home Prices In Loudoun County
According to a Bank of America survey of agents, the Washington, DC area (including Loudoun County) was one of the 5 real estate markets (AZ/CA/FL/NV/DC) that saw the most significant price declines and greatest deterioration in traffic in September. Buyer traffic fell further below expectations in September as buyers returned to the sidelines after witnessing continued price declines and fearing even more. The survey found that: 74 percent of agents said that buyer activity was less than expected 71 percent said home prices decreased 70 percent said the time it took to sell a home increased These results tie in to the preliminary sales numbers we ran on 9/28, which showed Loudoun County home sales in September being at their lowest point since 2002. But there is good news - inventory in Loudoun County has remained relatively the same for several months now. This is in contrast to most markets in the US which have seen inventory increase putting even more downward pressure on p

Stock Market Timing - Watching From the Sidelines
Well last week's short position didn't work out so well as the $51.51 level in the PowerShares QQQ Trust (Nasdaq: QQQQ) was taken out by Monday's close of $52.00 (when I also closed my trade for a moderate loss). So what move from here? Nothing for me yet. Although my market timing indicators are bullish, since I don't have an established long position, I will wait for a better entry.Stock market timing signal = cautious bull †† Here is more information about my stock market timing signal.

      Heart ailment sidelines Kiss singer
Kiss lead singer and guitarist Paul Stanley had to bow out of a Southern California concert because of heart problems before the show, according to his Web site. Band-mates Gene Simmons, Tommy Thayer and Eric Singer played the Friday night gig at Soboba Casino, about 90 miles east of Los Angeles, as Stanley was taken to the hospital. "During sound check yesterday, my heart spontaneously jumped to 190 plus beats per minute where it stayed for over an hour necessitating paramedics to start an IV and give me a shot to momentarily stop my heart and get it into a normal pattern," Stanley said in the Saturday Web site posting. "Not knowing if this episode was life threatening made it even more exhausting," the statement continued. Phone and e-mail messages for Kiss manager Doc McGhee seeking comment about Stanley's condition were not immediately returned Saturday night. It was Kiss' first ever appearance as a trio, according to the band's Web site. As famous for their makeup, stage mayhem

      Silent Sidelines
Teamwork. Friendship. Fun. That's why Amanda loves soccer. She will probably not be going to college on a soccer scholarship, but I will support her desire to play as long as she continues to learn those values while she's at it. In her soccer league, they have one day each season that calls for "silent sidelines." The coaches, and (ahem) the parents are to be silent. Cheering when they

parenting from the sidelines never felt so good
For the past three weeks Mike has been on course for workwhich means that he is up with us in the morning as opposed to out the door at 5:30am.It's been GREAT for me! I sleep in (until 6am), have a leisurely shower, a chance to shave (if i want to. note to self: do it!), even get my make up and hair done; all without the whines of a toddler wanting a bottle and an ass change.Since Mike's been on course he offered to take on the morning responsibilities of getting Carter ready as well as pick up and drop off (I think he did it so that he can drive the better car). I've been loving the "vacation" from my usually so hectic mornings. Mike, not so much. From the day I returned to work and took on the responsibility of getting Carter up and ready as well as daycare pick up and drop off. Mike always had some dig:What are you complaining about, it's not like it's hard...You have to dress him, sit him at the table and then take him to daycare, how hard can it be?You're always complaining
