Report: Progress, Shortcomings in Iraqi Security Forces
Strides have been made in building Iraq's security forces and increasing their responsibility, but more progress is needed, according to a new congressional report released today. The report, "Stand Up and Be Counted: The Continuing Challenge of Building the Iraqi Security Forces," follows an investigation by the House Armed Services Committee's Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee. It reports that the $19 billion the United States has invested over the past four years to organize, train and equip Iraq's military and police forces "has yielded mixed results." "Despite making significant progress in generating a sizeable national force, the Iraqi security forces have not developed as fast as the coalition planned and, as a result, are not yet ready to take full responsibility for their nation's security," the report states. The report also notes various states of readiness within the Iraqi forces. It recognizes that "some units are willing and capable of engaging the enemy" whi

      katie's shortcomings
I know you're probably shocked to find out that I have shortcomings. well, wait. see I'm not so sure this particular issue is a shortcoming. though recent events have led me to believe that it very well might be. I've flossed three times today and still, I am no clearer. go figure. I always leave my keys in the car. not in the ignition, dumb ass. in the glove compartment or on the floor under my seat and I never lock it. I learned this from my father. his car has never been boosted. personally, I think it's smart. I never have to look for my keys. I always know where they are. if someone wants in, there's no need to break a window. simply open the door and knock yaself out. what pisses me off is when some schmuck does decide to bust in and doesn't have the god damned courtesy to shut the door. that's just rude. here I went to all this trouble to leave the car open and you don't have the decency to shut it? that's just dicky. I'm almost positive that the reason my car has neve

Arsenals Shortcomings Only Need Minor Surgery
I’m 23, i started supporting Arsenal sometime in the late 80’s i can’t remember exactly when. I can certainly remember a couple of games in the Championship winning season of 88/89. Particularly a 5-0 thrashing of Norwich. Unfortunately i can’t remember that last gasp second from Mickey Thomas at Anfield, probably because i wasn’t allowed to stay up and watch it, only being 5 at the time. I went to my first game in 1992, Ian Wright scored in a 1-0 win. I saw alot of 1-0 wins for a time. I remember the Double Cup win in ‘93, the European Cup Winners Cup win in ‘94, the amazing events of ‘95 with Grahams sacking and the semi-final against Sampdoria. Bergkamps arrival and Riochs sacking. And then the Wenger years. Its been an amazing time to be an Arsenal fan. I’ve been incredibly lucky to have arrived on the scene in such a way, the only thing that could have been better is to have been a bit older in ‘89. However that would h

Serious shortcomings in respect for fundamental workers' rights in several EU member states
Yes, I think we might now about the bad circumstances for the trade unionists in some countries "far away". But also in Europe there is a disrespect for fundamental workers' rights in several EU member states. A new ITUC report issued today on the European Union reveals serious shortcomings in respect for fundamental workers' rights in several EU member states. Long-Term Shortcomings?
I want to start my own company. It is bound to happen. I can't live my life admiring entrepreneurs (no matter how successful or unsuccessful). I have an independent mind, I never really listen to anyone, I don't do well walking the path that was built by someone else's dreams.  I need to ...
