Neighbours is a cheesy daytime soap opera that is made and shown in Australia but is actually bigger here in the UK. It’s shown twice a day on BBC1, at 1.30pm and 5.30pm and has been for 10 years or so. That’s why there was shock here this week when an episode was shown which supposedly shows one of the young characters referring to another character as “Paul f**king Robinson“. Talk about choking over your cornflakes! It's a good job I don't eat them. Front page of the local rag this morning reveals the latest out-of-the-blue plan to MOVE Crewe station down to Basford Sidings. Indeed. The plan has been hatched by Network Rail this time as part of an ongoing investigation to carry out around £200m of re-signalling work. They could, according to Network Rail, build a new station down at Basford without disrupting the existing site, then add a smaller town centre station stop to connect the heart of Crewe to the new station. Personally, I think this could be a fantastic solution. Traffic would be taken away from the Nantwich Road area, the roundabout would see less chaos, you could get into the centre of Crewe by train and the new facility would be, in theory, the best of new builds (the current old site would require much work-around). However, we would also lose a lot of heritage. A lot of local people would be forced to catch a bus down to the new station.

So after watching the American Idol results last night I have a few things say. First of all, I am sad that Haley made it in over Sabrina. Sabrina has major talent and I totally had her pegged for top 12 from the beginning. Haley has a nice voice and she is pretty but her stage presence is just not there. I am thinking she’ll be the first one booted from top 12. Second, I am glad Brandon and Phil made it in. I was really worried about both of them. I’ve liked Brandon since his audition and well Phil is just funny and has a great personality. When he really opens his voice up WOW. I can’t wait to hear more from him. So happy Stephanie is there! Another one I was worried about mainly because she didn’t get that early exposure on the show and I wasn’t so sure how tight her fanbase was. Love her. I read the following with much sense of accomplishment. If they are feeling this much pressure form the blogosphere that means we are doing our jobs and rather well I would think. Of course they don't like being challenged by blogs, it upsets the protective heirarchy they have worked at establishing for many years to distance and protect themselves from ordinary people.
