We didn’t have to call the folks at Junk in the Trunk, but we could have. Instead we stuffed our Ford Freestyle with 15 years worth of things we probably didn’t need to begin with and delivered the load to a local charity. (And soon the Freestyle will be gone too).
As we purged belongings [...]
ISLAMABAD (June 26 2008): The Ministry of Information Technology showed its dismal over load shedding and frequent unannounced power outages, which are affecting productivity and damaging the sensitive IT equipment heavily dependent on smooth power supply, reliable sources confide to this scribe here on Wednesday.

By: Adam Vaporizer: It would not be off the beam to say that vaporizer is nothing short of a healthy source of joie de vivre particularly for those who are in love with smoke, alcohol and any other intoxicating stuff. It gives one every reason to jump for joy. Simply it can be put forth that it is a wonderful device to inhale the natural essence of all the herbs without taking in even the iota of

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the U.S. economy shed 20,000 jobs in April 2008. The labor force now counts at 146 million people as employed.
Normally, a loss of jobs would foretell economic weakness and would be a good thing for mortgage rate shoppers. Today, though, traders had been expecting a larger loss of 70,000 jobs.
In other words, today's jobs report looks surprisingly strong.
The stock market is now rallying on optimism that "the worst is over" for the U.S. economy and evidence supporting the Federal Reserve's remarks that its rate cuts were starting to take hold.
The stock market's gains are the bond market's losses.
Mortgage rates are up today because the cash that is fueling the stock market is coming from the sale of all types of

One of the first recordings of candles in use lies in the Egyptian history books where it is said the Egyptians frequently used church candles made from beeswax, however mention is also made [...]

In a post from yesterday, I talked about how some economists are predicting a deteriorating U.S. economy will take a significant toll on employment (6% jobless rate; 2 million lost jobs). Today, Kelly Evans wrote a post in the Wall Street Journal’s Real Time Economics blog that discussed the findings of the latest Job [...]

While sister, Riya Sen has not quite made it big in the tinsel town. But sister Raima has managed to carvbe a niche for her in Bollywood. Raima's short but consequential role in Parineeta got her many accolades. Her role as the strong headed Bengali beauty in Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Limited gave her the critics nod. And now Raima Sen is determined to make it big in Bollywood. Here is an exclusive interview of Raima Sen with Hindustan Times. Will you be soon competing with your glamorous sister Riya? I have entered commercial cinema full throttle. Although Riya is my sister but we both belong to different genres. We both are doing quite different films. I will really have to buck up in order to compete with Riya who is very sexy and glamorous. She has breasts and hips truly measuring up to Bollywood standards. While I am clueless about fashion Riya is totally into it. She designs costumes for me Do you prefer the Plain Jane look? I want to look sexy. I will not mind shedding clothes
If you don’t know the Eskom story yet, here’s the short version. Eskom, South Africa’s power supplier, has recently started cutting the power, because they cannot generate enough power for the whole country, hence we’re experiencing a lot of power outages, also known as load shedding.
Yesterday, Eskom was so clever to cut their own power.
I suppose one of the most googled terms in South Africa is ‘load shedding schedule’. We’re all waiting in anticipation to see if the power does go out when scheduled. Sometimes it does, sometimes it stays on, and sometimes it goes out without being scheduled at all.
For this very reason I have become paranoid about saving all my work. My fingers are constantly hitting CTRL+S while I work.
I suppose its not a bad habit, but since CTRL+S has become such a strong habit that I try to ’save’ whilst packing lunch, or brushing my teeth, its probably not such a good thing. Its really getting to me now
I am really impressed with Kraft. This is a story more about Private-Label Cereal Maker Ralcorp but what I see is a great job by Kraft's CEO Irene Rosenfeld. She has done what many big conglomerates fail to do, focus on their core competency.
Irene Rosenfeld has launched a massive turnaround effort aimed at revitalizing sales of the company's brands and is shedding slow-growing divisions to better focus the portfolio of the world's second-largest food company.
Kraft said if the deal is conducted through a spin off, it expects shares
Light fixtures are something not many of us think about. But, the way we light a room can cause us to feel a certain way or enhance what we want to accomplish in that room. There are many types of light fixtures for all areas of the home and even outdoor lighting fixtures for landscaping designs.
Planning to remodel a room? Consider light fixtures as one element to change. For instance, bathroom
All gardens depend on light to allow them to flourish; but many gardeners plan their gardens not only so that the plants get enough light to allow them to grow, but so that each plant will b shown off to its best advantage. Well planned light and shadow can add mystery and enchantment to a garden, and the sense of mystery can be continued even after the sun has gone down with thoughtfully situated garden lights. Nothing can match the romance of a stroll along a subtly lit garden pathway beneath a summer moon. The Difficulties Of Garden Lighting But keeping a garden path lit in the dark of night can be can expensive proposition, if the lighting must be powered by standard electricity. And if your garden is any distance from your home, powering electric garden lights in the normal manner can pose its own set of challenges. So you'll not only have to figure out a way to get wiring to your garden lights; you'll have to pay for the electricity which runs through it to keep you garden illu

Depending on where you live, you may be going through the brunt of shedding season. The horse hair has been flying here in Pennsylvania for a few weeks now. Here are some of the tools I like to keep in my shedding arsenal. My personal favorite, Farnam's slick and easy grooming block. This thing is a life saver. It pulls the hair out of the horse, leaving behind a clean shiny summer hair coat.I use a shedding blade, not on the horse, but on the bottom side of my saddle pad to take off those clumps of winter hair.A fine curry for those sensitive areas like the legs and face. Even though a fine curry is gentle you must still use caution on those sensitive areas.I prefer a grooma curry to get out the hair and give the horse a nice comfortable massage. The prongs are long on this, therefore you can groom longer and get out more hair before you have to clean the hair out of it.The most important thing, is good old fashioned elbow grease. I plan to spend about an hour per grooming session

With the futures pointing higher this morning I am relieved to have made a few changes to my blog portfolio yesterday. If this is a rocking day in the markets I'm going to wish I were sitting on less cash, but I at least got rid of a good chunk of my bearish position. The changes I made yesterday were the following:Sold QID at a 1.9% loss at $56.08. I definitely want to consider my hedging alternatives going forward but QID is not how I want to do it. I do still hold QQQQ Apr 45 puts that I may sell tomorrow if we get a down day.I went long IWM at $77.50. I may be glad I have this today. I see this ETF as a nice way to capitalize on a bounce back in small caps.I went long PCU at $68. I like the longer term chart and see this one as a semi-longish swing trade. And that's about it. I went from 45% cash to 31% cash and my short position decreased from 23% to 6%. Going forward I like the idea of shorting a stock here as downside protection. I just need to put a little thought into
She had said to me, "You should not have to fight to ensure your child gets what is just a basic education." But I did. Every step forward was hard earned, and with every step forward, there were two steps backward. School officials treated my son like a problem child. They treated me like a problem parent. My son only had to be a few degrees out of standard. I only had to disagree with their
