I haven’t been posting personal stuff on here lately, so I felt like it was time for a little bit of that.
I went by the apartment that Wednesday: The Gathering takes place with my plastic box that holds a bunch of assorted dice and my deck boxes filled with cards under my arm and a twelve-pack of beer in my hand. I should have called around eleven when everyone who usually attends gets out of work, but I didn’t. I mentioned that I may attend tonight, but the turnout hasn’t been great lately. I haven’t been in the past couple weeks for various reasons. A couple regulars switched shifts, and you can also include myself in the schedule-type change.
I knocked on the door. I noticed the light in the kitchen wasn’t on, and one of the tenant’s vehicles wasn’t in the parking lot. I didn’t wait long for someone to answer. The door is usually opened within seconds. I went back down the stairs and went back home.

Today has not been a good day. I didn't get much sleep last night - I got to bed sometime after midnight and woke about 3.30am and just could not get back to sleep. Eventually, sometime after 4, I got up and put the TV on in the hope that I would at least drop off on the futon. Otis had a run around at the same time, since he was getting a little stroppy about being in his cage while I was in the living room. He took the opportunity to launch repeated assaults on my feet, which were snugly encased in bed socks. Unfortunately, one of his claws got snagged on the socks and he couldn't get free but wouldn't hold still enough for me to unhook him. I took the sock off and he promptly launched off around the room. I did get hold of him a couple of times but he kept wriggling free so at 5 in the morning I had a bunny going mental in the living room, trailing a sock behind him. Hi allThe other evening I was driving home from a friend’s house (yes I was shattered!) it was dark, wet and flecks of drizzle were trickling down the wing mirror. A car pulled up quickly behind me, nose up my behind, lights dazzling (brain obviously on vacation..thank you Mr Dazzle man) before screeching past and off into the night leaving me to ponder as to why such imbeciles inhabit the roads….Except on this occasion said Mr Dazzle had offered me more than a glimmer of inspiration. As soon as I got home I started to work on the image in my head. The image of a dazzling light reflected from distorted glass. Shattered shards streaking outwards. Butterfly on a Wheel, starring Gerard Butler, Pierce Brosnan and Maria Bello was rumoured to have had a name change. The film was renamed Shattered, which was unconfirmed until the release of the trailer.
The film is was a fantastic thriller with Pierce Brosnan brilliantly playing a baddie and stunning Maria Bello acting her heart out.
The film sees Butler and Bello playing a couple who have an extremely successful life. Brosnan, the baddie, knows everything there is to know about the two and spends the next 24 hours holding them at gun point and steadily ruining their life bit by bit.
Shattered (butterfly on a Wheel) hasn’t been released in the UK yet but hopefully the buzz around the film in the US will help the film’s wider release.
