Well, Their you have it! The UAW has rejected the stipulations set by the Senate for the dollars needed to keep the "Legacy" American Auto Industry on life support. Since I started this blog in the summer, one of my themes has been taking food retailers and manufacturers to task about their ingredients.I have not directed my attention towards the obvious bad guys like McDonalds or Coca Cola because there are plenty of people already doing that. Instead I have targeted companies who market products as healthy when they are not. In one sense, these companies
Swadhyaya (Self Study):Ishwar gita while describing swadhyaya has stated that japa is swadhyaya. It includes both shrawan and manan (listening and contemplation). Mental japa is also of two types - without dh

My 7-year-old daughter came home from school one day, held up her middle finger, and asked me what it meant. I was so shocked that I could say only,"Shame on you," followed by, "If anyone does that to you, just say, "Shame on you" to that person.A few weeks later we were at the dinner table when my husband let out a huge belch. I reprimanded him by saying, "Shame on you."Imagine my husband's shock
Election day last Tuesday, November 4th was such a WONDERFUL day. History was made and now with Obama as president, MAYBE the US can get its act together. Maybe the US can focus on things that are important, like making healthcare available to everyone, fixing the crumbling infrastructure, take care of the homeless, STOP invading and bombing countries for oil, stop destroying the environment, etc.

I believe that the physical nature, and relative rarity of a letter means that it is less likely to get lost in the system. Writing letters straight to the managing [...]
Pink ribbon products are popping up all over the place, reminding us that Breast Cancer Awareness Month is here. One of the pink ribbon products you've probably seen in stores is Yoplait yogurt.

Jeremiah was a prophet who preached to a nation that was about to be overtaken by enemies. There's really no denying it -- T-Mobile's G1 and Sony Ericsson's XPERIA X1 are two of the hottest mobiles around right now, and as predicted, all sorts of sparks flew when the two sat down for a side-by-side photo session. In Howard County, Baltimore, the growing number of foreclosure filings has certainly started affecting the local economy. It seems that not one, but two comics written by the dreadful Warren Ellis, have been optioned for movie adaptations lately. When Guttenberg Mayor David Delle Donna resigned his position today, he ended a long, drawn-out process that should never have happened. His resignation is a good sign of how the justice process works (occasionally) in this country.Yet throughout this whole trial, one person, Javier Inclan, a former Hudson County clerk and a current adviser to Gov. Jon S. Corzine, who had close ties to Delle Donna while he was active in politics in Guttenberg, has gotten off without any kind of punishment. And it’s a travesty that he has, because truth be told, he had just as important a role in this case as anyone else did. And meanwhile, Corzine is praising Inclan for having the courage to testify in such a high-profile case.“The governor commends Javier for his effort and he believes it takes courag
Posted on April 28th, 2008 11:20 amThe New York Post isn’t known for its subtlety. Or its quality. Therefore, it wasn’t shocking to find the controversial, racy Miley Cyrus Vanity Fair photo adorning this newspaper’s front page this morning, headlined by: Miley’s Shame. The headline of the Post says it all. Here’s the front page of the paper…We do wonder, however, how long it took editors at this tabloid to decide that this quasi-naked photo of Cyrus deserved top billing over the Roger Clemens-Mindy McCready scandal. Let’s just say we’d be surprised if tomorrow’s front page story on The New York Post isn’t a shot of these two celebrities, accompanied by the headline: Roger’d That!
I had a client once who asked me if I thought shame was at the core of his emotional difficulties, and I apparently responded that "shame is at the core of all emotional difficulties." This is one of those lines that I immediately forgot I said until this client returned years later for a brief consultation and informed me that he never forgot that sentence. Whenever I witness intense negative emotions I assume that a core of shame is fueling its power. Shame seems to magnify whatever it touches. Shame turns anger into rage and resentment, anxiety into panic, sadness into suicide, organization and order into obsession, and instability into chaos. Shame keeps secrets, increases isolation, numbs the senses and promotes self-loathing. Shame is elusive, often denying its own presence.
Those old enough to remember World War II will never forget the gallant Filipino soldiers who stood shoulder to shoulder with their American comrades in the bitter fight on Bataan and then endured the horrible death march conducted by the Japanese troops. Apparently, Republican senators have no such memories as they fight bitterly against proposals [...]
In the wake of the massive loan failures of many banks worldwide due to bad mortgages and other risky loans I have been more skeptical of corporate self governance, let alone the governments ability to see beyond itself to address real issues that are obvious, before they become crisis. How many corporate executives really think that their risky high interest loans and credit cards are not ultimately harmful for most consumers?
Who among us right now doesn't hold those banks accountable to their own misery? I have little sympathy for them and have zero interest in bailing them out. I have only some sympathy for poor home buyers (first time home buyers new to the system and easily conned).
