Brooke Hogan checked in with fans on her MySpace shortly after her car accident on Sunday (May 25) in Clearwater, Florida. "I don't know if you've heard, but my friend and I got into a really bad car accident today ourselves," the 20-year-old writes.
WASHINGTON - Nighttime driving is three times deadlier than daytime driving, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported Monday, and teens bear the brunt of it. One big reason: lower seatbelt use. In the 16-20 age group, 68 percent of those killed in nighttime accidents weren't...

On our last flight we had three children under 6 and lots of people giving us those "oh no!" looks when we were trying to board. We had to carry the car seats for safety, and the games and DVD-players for entertainment. I'm not too proud to say I think I should have received a gold medal, just for surviving the hauling part!I would love to travel light, even with children, but this mama cares about safety, and when it comes to my children's safety - I'm not taking any shortcuts just for convenience. If you are getting ready to fly with children, you don't have to haul all the gear to the plane, like we did. Neither you have to take any safety shortcuts thanks to CARES ($75). CARES is a children's safety belt for airplane seats, and the best for parents: it fits in your pocket. The harness-type seat belt, which is really easy install directly to the airplane seat, can be used the entire flight, and it is the only FAA approved harness type safety device for kids. History has a way of repeating itself! Life and events goes around in a circle... some good and some not so good! But in the long run, it all pans out and we learn to work with where the chips fall. When the table turns --- we will all be back on track again . &nbs
I have a secret. i don’t have a cosmetics bag. Instead, it’s all over my bathroom counter and when I travel, I jam it into a random pouch on my suitcase. This is not a good system.
However, if I ever get my act together and get a cosmetics case, I’d get a cute one like this one from Eco-Centric. They are made out of reclaimed car seat belts and dyed with eco-friendly dyes.
You have your choice of orange, pink or brown and a large size and a small size. Prices vary depending on size and color, but they start at £16.00. You can order yours from Eco-centric.

Ian again take seatbelt for granted. I reminded him a few times about the commercial I showed him before, but he sort of play dumb with it.
So, I’ve decided to show him this one below. I showed him twice in a row, and by nearly the end of the end time he shouted no to the video. I think it is too much for his little mind.
And then… as a result of that, he really buckles in, every time! And he gets very scared if any of us don’t use our seatbelt. He would insist all of us use our belts!
In deed, the point of this seatbelt commercial is — even if you don’t value your own life, please respect others’ and don’t kill them with your ‘flying body’. Also, what if you don’t kill yourself, but suffer the rest of your life?
These super-stylish bags are made out of old seat belts, lined with hemp and printed with eco-friendly ink. The company who designs and sells them, Harvey’s (maker of the original seatbelt bag!) calls this line of bags “Treecycle.”
There are three versions, mini-messenger, tote zip, and large satchel. The cheapest version is $138.00 (not so cheap!), but the bags are super durable and long lasting.

Just when I thought the nanny state was going to totally take over the state the mandatory seatbelt bill was defeated.
The state Senate late this afternoon rejected mandatory seat belts for all ages, voting 16-8 against passage of House Bill 802.
The vote kept New Hampshire the only state in the country without such a requirement.
The bill had passed the House 153-140 on April 4.
This may show that the state government isn’t totally ready to regulate all aspects of our lives just yet. Maybe they will treat voters as adults after all. We finally won a battle.
But then there’s this:
The New Hampshire House today approved a ban on smoking in restaurants, cocktail lounges and some other public places, moving the bill to Gov. John Lynch, who is expected to sign it into law.
The vote today was 224-117, coming after a 216-135 vote rejecting a proposed amendment to allow separate “smoking rooms” in restaurant and lounges.
The bill also bans smoking in state-licensed public edu
New Hampshire is the only state in the union without a seatbelt law for adults. Our government has always treated us like adults. That could change today. If the bill passes today it will head to Gov. Lynch’s desk and he will…..uh, I don’t know what he will do. Nobody does.
On the eve of a major public policy vote at the State House, a state senator yesterday called on Gov. John Lynch to take a stand on legislation that would mandate the use of seatbelts for all drivers.
The governor’s spokesman said Lynch remains undecided and is “talking to lawmakers and a lot of other people” about it.
This man got elected without taking a side on any tough issues, that way nobody could be against his policies. We didn’t know what they were. This is the same reason we are going to have civil unions here.
I can’t believe New Hampshire voters couldn’t see through this.
So, I ask you Gov. Lynch, where do you stand on this issue? I just want to kno
In my Youtube account, under the ‘No Seatbelt’ video, there was a very sad comment, and I think it further re-inforces that we need to use seatbelts, and to ensure our love ones also use it.
This is the comment:
This breaks my heart. We were in a car accident June of last year. My 9 year old son was not wearing his seatbelt and I so saw his face in this commercial. He didn’t make it. I was not wearing my seatbelt either and I was thrown from the car. It could have been both of us. WEAR YOUR SEATBELT!!!
