About a month ago we reported that Capitol 1524 changed their signage to Rock Paper Scissors (RPS Life). Today, they made the news official on their blog. From here on out, Capitol 1524 is now known as RPS. When you log onto capitol1524.com, it says to visit rpslife.com.With that said, we'll be looking forward to when they move into their new digs come this summer around the Pike/Pine neighborhood of Capitol Hill. Looks like the new group of owners who took over Capitol 1524 back in October of 2007 will be renaming the store Rock Paper Scissors. Only speculation, but a good guess based on the following. The current web address, rpslife.com, forwards to the stores blog. So, I'm pretty sure they'll be rebranding the store and name. Secondly, the application of the RPS logo went up on the windows. I have use this techniques a few times before but I guess somehow I've forgotten to blog about it until one of my blog reader asked me about one of my work. So, I've decided to use this technique again in my latest layout titled "Sweet Girl" in my baby gallery.Here are the steps in using the scissors distressing technique.1. Use a pair of scissors and drag or slide it across the edge of your paper. (Tips: Be bold and do not worry about tearing or cutting your paper)2. After you've finished all the four edges of your paper, this is what it will look like. You can absolutely use your paper as it is now or you can add some depths to it with the next step. 3. I suppose this movie qualifies as a dark comedy. I first heard about Scissors For Lefty late last year when a song or two from the bands new album was floating around the web. It kinda went silent then from the San Fran band, and now the news is back and fresh regarding their new album. The second album from Scissors For Lefty is due out June 12 and is titled Underhanded Romance.
Like their debut disc, the album is full of upbeat indie rock jams, highlighted by the first song, which I really can’t get out of my head, “Nickles & Dimes.” It’s a great tune that brings to mind the likes of Arctic Monkeys and Franz Ferdinand. And SFL certainly are not shy about their influences, and fit comfortably alongside that group of Brit bands. But of course, they are from the states. Also the band is now a five piece, three of those pieces being a part of the Garza family (two brothers & one uncle). Have a sample from the upcoming album from Scissors For Lefty.

So I figure winter and spring were playing and winter won cuz Spring flew away and winter took back over! It was 84 degrees last Monday and now, it’s cold and miserable…. BLARG!
My cousin got married over the weekend in Logan Lake, BC (that’s in Canada for those that haven’t quite figured this whole Canamerican thing out yet). We were supposed to attend, but due to crap we couldn’t. Apparently we missed out on some good yummies and Tony getting to meet a lot of my family; but hopefully we can attend another cousins wedding on 7/7/7.
Ethan is doing much better! His bum is almost completely back to normal, and back to it’s lily white softness, instead of the beet red rashiness.
The cats (well Chilly & Silly) received baths on Monday to fight off fleas and other buggies… Tony wanted to hit up Dubby too, but changed his mind after he picked her up, turned on the water and the hissing and fighting ensued. Chilly did okay for a lil scrappe

Recently, whilst waiting in the Dentist's reception area, I was trying to distract my children so that they did not become too nervous. I started racking my brain for games I could play with them and to my surprise Scissors, Paper, Stone proved a big hit. My children now ask to play it regularly.
If you are interested, the rules are as follows:
Each player must hold one hand behind their back
One person counts out loud "1, 2, 3"
On the count of 3 each player must reveal their hand in the form of scissors, paper or stone
The winner of each round is determined as follows: scissors cut paper, paper wraps stone, stone blunts scissors
If you want to keep score, each win is allotted one point.
It is a great game because even very young children can play. Have fun!

If you have to work with the scissors and have trouble with straight cuts, you might find useful a pair of laser scissors. And even though it won’t cut the paper with a laser beam, it is pretty cool.
