Air France is holding talks about a joint venture that could see some of its short-haul flights switched to rail and increase competition for continental Europe's mainly state-owned high-speed train operators. The move could mark the beginning of a decline in short-haul air travel on routes such as ParisFrankfurt, which now enjoy good high-speed rail links. The precise routes taken by the fearless explorers are not known. The migrations were many and were spread over centuries of time. Also the small companies of adventurers and scouts and the larger companies of immigrants came by different routes. The route through Java to the Fiji Islands and eastward is marked by stranded remnants of Polynesians at Futuna (Erronan) in the New Hebrides, at Rennel in the Solomons, and at the Ontong Java (Lord Howe Islands. The Polynesian settlement at Nukuor in the Caroline Islands may mark a northern route by which immigrants came through the Marshall Islands, Gilbert Islands, and Ellice Islands to Samoa and perhaps to Hawaii. It is possible that some adventurous companies came by a yet more northern route through the Marianas Islands or the Carolines directly to Hawaii. After immigrants had become established in such places as Samoa and Tahiti, these centers probably were used as bases for exploration of islands in their vicinity. When the Polynesians

If you are travelling into Marbella and don’t want to hire a car, the public transport links here are pretty good with a reliable and extensive bus services. There is a new high speed train service currently under construction which will be based under the new runway at Malaga Airport and run from there along the Costa del Sol as far as Estepona, but estimated completion of this is currently in 2009. So until then hiring a car, taxis or the bus services are your only option.
Marbella Bus Station is located slightly north of Marbella in Avenida Trapiche which is just 100 metres north of the bypass that runs behind Marbella. To get to it you have to cross the bypass which runs from west to east behind Urbanisation El Cenit, and you will find it just to the left of the big roundabout. There is a taxi rank just outside the Marbella bus station and it is about a 20 minute walk to the centre of Marbella and 30 minutes down to the sea front by crossing the road bridge next to the bus s

17 October 2007 (TravelVideo.TV) - There was a brief mention about new designated tourists routes in Angkor Wat earlier, and this article provides more information about the proposed tourist routes. Cambodian tourism has always had the problem of having too many visitors, which is causing the temples a lot of stress as even Siem Reap town struggles to keep up with the tourist bandwidth. Visitors to Angkor may soon have to follow designated circuit routes, designed to stave attention off Angkor Wat and bring tourists to the other temples in Angkor.
Incidentally, there are already two circuit routes in Angkor, the Grand Circuit and the Minor Circuit, which take either an eastward or westward circular route around the temples. These routes are still rather long and I don’t think they can be done in a day. What I’d really like to see is smaller, thematic routes through Angkor, organised by period or ruler, that would give the Angkor tourists a chance to appreciate the Khmer tem
The Post Office loves acronyms. That's why Qualified Address has products with CASS, LACSLink, and DPV in their names. Other products and services that you might hear connected with the USPS are NCOA, PAVE, and MASS. Even 'ZIP' in ZIP Code is an acronym for "Zoning Improvement Plan." It can seem like the post office has its own language sometimes. Some of these acronyms are more interesting and confusing than others. One of the questions we get a lot is, "What is LACSLink?" 'LACS' is an acronym for "Locatable Address Conversion System." A "Locatable Address" has reference to a 9-1-1 system. It means that addresses are named and numbered in such a way that shortens response times to emergencies. In many areas of the country, rural route addresses have been used to deliver mail in the past. The airline is dropping less profitable routes and paring stakes in other companies to focus on air travel."Japan Air still has a way to go," said Mitsushige Akino of Ichiyoshi Investment Management. As an asset class, real estate tends to play second fiddle to stocks and bonds. Apart from their homes, average Canadians are likely underexposed to bricks and mortar. The classic route to real estate riches is to buy a second home, perhaps a condo or triplex apartment, rent it out and get your tenants to pay the mortgage on it. But this is not a highly diversified approach. It can be a problem finding good tenants, collecting rents and keeping properties maintained.
July 23 (Bloomberg) -- Air China Ltd., the nation's largest international carrier, will add routes and staff as the 2008 Olympic Games fuel demand for travel to its hub, Beijing. It was reported in today’s Tampa Tribune that the Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority is proposing significant cutbacks to deal with an over $4 million budget loss from property tax cuts.
Both downtown InTown Trolley routes are affected.
The Route 98 downtown to Hyde Park route is slated for total elimination.
The Route 96 route is proposed to operate only during peak hours (6-9am and 3-6pm). It does a north/south loop from Harbour Island to Marion Transit Center serving parking, hotels, library, TBPAC, Convention Center, government center, courthouses, and more.
Now is the time to provide input if you feel these cuts will negatively impact your business. There may also be an effort to secure private sector funding if enough interest can be generated. Please call Karen Kress, Director of Transportation and Planning, at 813-221-3686 with your thoughts.

Since I’ve been talking about Chicago the last few days (refer to the last 4 or so entries down), I may as well make PublicRoutes.com known. PublicRoutes.com is a website that provides free street directions as well as traffic and weather updates. This service comes in handy for those who live in big cities such as Chicago, San Francisco, and New York City. Planning a trip to Chicago or live there? View the Chicago neighborhood map. There you will be able to get efficient directions whether you’re driving, walking, or taking the bus, subway or train! I think this site is a good idea for those who want the news right then and there without having to listen to the radio. Just thought I’d share!
US Airways has created a couple new routes that will cover parts of the country not before offered by this airline. They have begun to offer discount fares to the Northwest from the Southeast. The new discount route to the Northwest departs from Charlotte and goes to Portland. They hope that this new airline route will give travelers more flexibility and flight availability to the Pacific Northwest. As of now, they are offering tickets between these two cities for as low as 165 for a one way. These cheap tickets can be found online at their homepage. To get the best deals on tickets you must buy 21 days in advance and travel by September 3, 2007. Many Charlotte residents should be interested in leaving the summer heat for the cooler Pacific Northwest.
In keeping with the run of sites I've been posting here as they've gone live I thought I'd add a couple more - Urbis (made live earlier this year) and Routes Online (beta made live last month).
Urbis
We have worked with Urbis, Manchester for some time now and were recently asked to re-design the site to tie in with the new print and branding materials. Located at the heart of Manchester, Urbis
Chinese and U.S. Government negotiators have reached an agreement to increase the number of passenger flights between the two countries, including the award of an additional non-stop flight from the U.S. to China by August. The pact also calls for adding 13 new flights through 2012, up from three by 2010, and lifts some restrictions on cargo flights.
I didn't know about this website about public routes until just recently. My, we really need it with going somewhere far from where we live, especially if we have to drive to my sister's place in Illinois. Because, oh, the last time we went somewhere like when we took our baby Hannah to a Surgeon Doctor. We almost got lost, we had trouble finding our way. So I hope it won't happen again, now that we have this new way to get driving directions. We can go anywhere and not have to worry so much about getting lost or ending up somewhere else. Unlike the last time, we almost wound up going out of State. That's the uncertainty of not having a good direction provider website. So, hopefully with this new all around; online directions through any mode of trasport, we will find our way sooner and accurately.
A good while ago I mentioned on this blog the website of the ANTT (a Brazilian government body) with information on Brazilian bus companies and the routes they operate. A very useful page though quite hard to explore - I’ve mentioned several times that top-notch information is not seen in Brazil as a priority when it comes to helping tourists.
Today I want to mention an equally interesting resource, the page of Socicam. If you get over the inital shock (the design of the site is dead ugly) you will be rewarded with some useful information. Socicam is a company that runs several bus stations in Brazil and its site contains information on the bus routes operating from those stations. This is the list of bus stations run by Socicam: Angra dos Reis (Rio de Janeiro), Aracajú (Sergipe), Fortaleza (Ceará), Guarujá (São Paulo), Mogi das Cruzes (São Paulo), Niteroi (Rio de Janeiro), Poços de Caldas (Minas Gerais), Ribeirão Preto (São Paulo), RÃo de Janeiro, São Carlos (São Paul
I was a guest at Shop Talk on ANC this afternoon. The topic today was visita iglesia and Pia Hontiveros asked me to suggest some routes for Holy Thursday. Many people have been asking why seven churches. That custom of visiting seven churches on Holy Thursday is said to originate from the early Christian practice of visiting the seven great basilicas in Rome.As I mentioned in the show a while ago, we should try to visit heritage churches so that we get a glimpse of Philippine culture while we pray. These centuries-old churches form an inherent part of our national identity, and we must thus endeavor to preserve them for future generations of Filipinos. If you remember, we came out with a petition to the CBCP to stop the further defacing of Philippine heritage churches late last year.Anyway, I'm posting my suggestions here for day trips around and near Metro Manila. You can also check out my destination index if you have a particular province which you want to visit or if you want to r
It’s a question asked every year by thousands of people ‘ ‘How do I get rid of Acne Scars’’ The best answer, of course, is to catch the acne early and eliminate or at least minimize the damage. If it’s too late for that, however, then the answers to that ‘How do I get rid of Acne Scars’’ question get a little bit better and the prospects a little more hopeful every year as techniques and drugs improve. There are lots of avenues to explore. The route you take will be influenced by the severity of the scarring, how much you can afford, and the end result you want to achieve. Depending on your particular circumstances, there can be at least 8 ways to seriously consider. These 8 fall into two broad categories: Specialist treatment of some sort, most likely by a dermatologist; orNon-surgical treatment, which includes creams, UV sun lamps and a large number of home and non-traditional remedies. If you’re considering the surgical route, remember that you cannot undertake any
The current "Best Building" poll we're running has got me thinking about a number of Crewe issues. From new developments and planning to the much-maligned road system and more. One thing that has amused me for a while is the numerous routes into Crewe, and that can be a good and bad thing. On the one hand it spreads the traffic load. It gives locals and visitors choice, never having to approach the town via the same road. On the down side there's the lack of identity, a general misconception about boundaries, key areas (where is the town centre?) and how certain parts of the town joins up. Today's snap is one of three favourite images of mine (I'll post the others over the next few days). It's the Earle Street approach into town, up and over the bridge towards the roundabout and on to the Municipal Square area that has recently been transformed. This photo shows the hustle and bustle of traffic, the pedestrians that walk in from housing areas like Hungerford Road, and also those w
