What should have been about a 6 1/2 hour spacewalk was cut down to 4 hours because one of the astronauts, Rick Mastacchio, found a hole in one of his gloves.  The hole did not extend through all of the layers in his glove, but to be safe NASA ordered him back into the airlock. Mission Control has says that he was not in danger, and that it was only a precaution to bring Mastacchio in.  The other astronaut, Clay Anderson, wrapped up what he was doing outside on the International Space Station and came in also.  Mastracchio said that he was “doing good,” and said that he was just “looking out the hatch, wishing I was out there.” Since glove damage was discovered las December it is a standard procedure for astronauts to inspect their gloves about every 30 minutes to make sure their is no damage.  Shortening this spacewalk didn’t cause too much of a set back because most of what was to be completed on this spacewalk was, except for getting some experiments

It’s a challenge to her to get around activation codes and serial numbers and registration code problems which is quite impressive in a way. As for guilt about doing that, she has none. If you mentioned to her that she was ripping off the author’s she’d just shrug and come out with some meaningless excuse that justifies nothing. She has no understanding of intellectual property rights at all. I do download some ‘demo’ stuff but I also buy software when I want a full working version. Whereas the friend of mine just doesn’t think like that. As far as she is concerned the ripped software or music or DVD is out in the public domain and it’s free from now on and that’s that. She does download a lot and it makes me wonder whether her ISP is keeping track of all of her download broadband usage. It wouldn’t

I wasn’t convinced that the ripping of the VOB files had actually got the complete files. Checked the length of the files on the DVD’s against the ripped versions and one was shy 15 minutes and the other 7 minutes. These were ripped using DVD Decrypter. I did rip one of the DVD’s with some other software the other day and converted that file to an MPG file. That was also short, though I don’t know whether it was the original ripping or the conversion process which lost some time. Back to basics I suppose, play around with some software and see if I can find a ripper that actually gets all of the data. Once that is accomplished try and get the VOB files converted to MPG if I’m going to use Windows Movie Maker, and ensure the conversion doesn’t lose anything. If I use Sony Vegas it is supposed to be able to read VOB files so there is no chance of a secondary process shortening files. We have some complex testing to be done which needs at least 2 server
