So the movie website fir the new movie Righteous Kill with Robert De Niro and Al Pacino is not that great. It has a movie trailer and a movie synopses, and that is it by way of media - no movie downloads or extras. But the Righteous Kill site does have one pretty cool thing that I haven't seen on other movie websites I've visited - a link to Submit a Question to the filmmakers - and they will sup

So can it get better than two of the greatest actors (De Niro and Pacino) together as a pair of New York City detectives hunting down a serial killer who kills bad guys that evade the judicial system through koop holes? It sounds like a great movie but can it compare to classics like Heat? Maybe if the story is amazing and allows the actors to show off thier talent. In the movie they must confront

Hating the New Times is not a new concept for many people throughout Arizona. The alternative weekly’s coverage of controversial topics and targeting of politicians including their recent battles with Sheriff Arpaio have raised the ire of many over the years. However, over the years, people’s dislike for the paper has been tempered by its appeal to younger demographics and its “Best of” categories for places throughout the community. The feelings of ill-will for the weekly bubbled below the surface waiting for an opportunity to arise. Finally, people were able to kick their hatred into high gear following the public utterance of the “n” word by New Times co-owner Michael Lacey. It's sad watching Pacino and DeNiro together for the first time since "Heat" in some paint-by-numbers cop thriller. Both of these guys are heading into the twilights of their careers. Where are the great roles for them? Especially DeNiro who hasn't done an interesting movie in ten years.
No, this isn’t a picture of two old pals sharing some tunes. It’s the new collaboration of Robert De Niro and Al Pacino in the crime drama ‘Righteous Kill’.

They weren't brothers, but Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield (both born in 1940) were most definitely righteous, defining (and perhaps even inspiring) the term "blue-eyed soul" in the mid-'60s. Well we saw a few production images of De Niro and Pacino back in September and now the trailer is officially here. As this is an independent film, you will get that gritty/un-edited cinematic feel from the trailer, but anyone who knows anything about these two legends know that it ain’t their choice of cinematography that made their careers. I predict a classic when “Righteous Kill” hits theaters next year, watch the trailer after the break. (more…)

A few months ago, there was a great discussion on this blog about what readers have against personal finance bloggers. Recently, a reader added some extra dimensions to the topic. Here is what she had to say:

My pet peeves (and I am planning to post more thorough discussions of these issues in future posts) with the pf blogging world are:
*The dearth of bloggers with serious obstacles that they have or are overcoming.
Most bloggers I read seem to have hundreds of thousands saved, are earning many times over the national average, and seems to have few obstacles to financial success. My feeling is, how hard is it to succeed under those conditions?
I want to read about those who for whatever reasons don
Brian Dennehy is in negotiations to join newly added cast members John Leguizamo, Dan Futterman, Trilby Glover and professional skateboarder Rob Dyrdek in Righteous Kill, the Jon Avnet production which begins filming September 4th in Connecticut and New York.Leguizamo (right), who has appeared with Pacino and De Niro before in "Carlito’s Way" and "The Fan" respectfully, will play an NYPD cop who clashes with Pacino and De Niro’s detectives as they search for a vigilante serial killer.Dennehy (Assault on Precinct 13) takes on the role of their captain. Futterman (A Mighty Heart) and Glover (The Starter Wife) both play attorneys, and Dyrdek (MTV's "Rob and Big") a delinquent, who crosses paths with the detectives during their investigations. This is a great addition to the cast which already includes Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, 50 Cent, Carla Gugino and Donnie Wahlberg.

Last Monday night, Kathy attended a women’s Bible study at our church. I always like to encourage her to make the most of these kind of opportunities, although it does cut short the time we have together in the evening. As she rushed out the door, I settled down to play my latest favorite computer game, Port Royale 2.
Alas, it was not to be. First Daniel, then Rachel came to my negative attention for various infractions. I spent the bulk of the evening talking with them in turn, rebuking and correcting their foolishness and sin. I was very discouraged by the experience, and I assume that they were as well. It seemed like a classic lose/lose situation, where I lost time and energy and they didn’t gain from my long lecture, but instead our relationship was further strained.
On Monday I helped Rachel to make smoothies for some roofers across the street. She has been so eager to earn money for the camp she hopes to attend in August, and I wanted to help her. We made

The Seas - On this day G-d created fish, birds, and the great sea giants,[1] the Leviathan. As with all creatures He created the Leviathan male and female. I've got more reason to hate Edmunds than anyone at TTAC. After all, they recruited me away from both here, Jalopnik and a good day job, then 4.5 days later fired me for having an unpaid speeding ticket (55 mph in a 35 mph) and saying dirty words on my old movie review site. A month later, I was contacted by an Edmunds recruiter and asked if I was still in the job market, as they were hiring for an Associate Editor. The very same position I was canned from. Talk about piling it on. Another Edmunds employee (that I stayed friendly with) said one of the rumors floating around the office was that I was fired for a DUI. Which is not only totally false, but in this business a death sentence. So, I don't like them very much. However, there ain't nothing wrong with taking a
