Earlier I wrote about a class I designed to combat large heap fragmentation issues with memory streams. I've updated the class to correct a bug I recently discovered in the read routine. I've also published the entire solution with additional unit tests. MemoryStreams are darn handy little buggers for caching away results from serialization and file copy operations. However, there's a dark side in that MemoryStreams can create additional memory pressure, particularly when stream sizes grow in excess of about 85K. At that point, the .NET runtime allocates from the large memory heap. This heap does not compact like the small memory heap and can lead to fragmentation. Even though this large work was received very well the one thing that held it back from being sold was the cool greens. The scene in the Southern Flinders were at the time very fresh with new growth; it still wasn't what the viewer really wanted. I have now revised this and made the changes to add warmth to the scene. Still a 'green season' but not so many cool colours that it originally had and have to admit that I like the revised version better myself.Well tomorrow is the day my husband and I will be leaving for our holiday, hence no post for awhile on this blog. Hey guys, I think that now is the right time for me to talk about a few new blogging projects that I have been secretly working on. Of course I need a bit of reasoning to back this up, hence a: Prologue It all started about 2 weeks ago, I had decided to conduct a survey for PrimeScape in order to get some solid feedback for site and content improvements. Overall the feedback was very useful. It reconfirmed my thoughts about the site; being that I write some good stuff which is worth a few visits but I am still a long way off of writing some major gold. Something that really stood out in the survey responses was that one person said that there was too much variety in the site’s content. This has been a problem that I have been weary of for some time now. So after a few hours dwelling on how I could constructively use the feedback to improve the site, I came out with the following outcome.
