Of course, most of my summers as a child growing up were spent with my grandparents and relatives over there as well. So it’s safe to say that Camiguin has always felt like home. This was part of the Shadhiliyya Hajj retreat. we experienced a wonderful night of khalwa (spiritual seclusion) with meditation, zikr and prayers guided by our beloved master we call Sidi. During the khalwa we did special supplication such as Dua al Jawharah (the Jewel Supplication) and chanting Divine names. I’ve already spoken about how much I really like Roaring Rivers and the surrounding area of Petersfield and Shrewsbury in Westmoreland Parish Jamaica. I think Roaring River is one of those special places where you can witness the real beauty of nature. Watching the mineral springs flow from underground and cascade over the rocks and the lush green vegetation that grows around it is a perfect scene for me and I just love to sit and admire the place.
On my second adventure to Roaring River cave I noticed these large sun shaped signs near the signs pointing to the River. The signs were shaped like a setting sun and I was intrigued by what they read. It said Sunset Heal Mountain Retreat and Healing Center. It just so happens that a friend was going through a cancer experience and I was interested to see what they offered at this place.
