Barron's Ends The Party at Rediff
Back in May, I recommended buying Rediff.com (REDF) into earnings. Until last week, that recommendation was worth 62.5% as the stock shot up from $16 at the time of my post to $26. Over the weekend, Barrons called REDF and that sent the stock spiralling downward to $22. At current levels, and with so many stocks way above their 10 day moving averages, the market is looking for a correction and REDF could get weaker, so I recommend selling into the mini rally in the stock today. After all, you are still up over 30% in the name.-- Faisal LaljeeFull Disclosure: I do not own REDF but my position can change anytime without notice.

Rediff takes on Orkut and Youtube
Rediff India's 5th ranked site according to alexa has launched a new sharing and social networking  platform called iShare where we can share videos, photos, music as well as create a profile and interact with each other .In other words rediff has planned to take on Google's two wildly popular sites in India Orkut india's 2nd rank website and Youtube ranked 7th in India.Rediff has been criticized in the past for being slow moving despite being a site which is older than google  which has allowed many India centric websites to create niches and became more successful than Rediff itself an example being Shaadi.com. Now rediff seems to have woken up and this India centric  sharing is meant to capture basically viewership from Youtube .It is also trying to expand the market for internet by tying up with Zee Tv's Saa Ree Ga Maa the popular talent hunt show to allow people to upload videos via rediff ishare. This means that india's online video battle is going to hot up and means that R

Is Rediff.com a buy going into Earnings?
Rediff.com - India's top web portal looks attractive going into earnings. I believe India will be the 3rd largest market on the internet in the next 5 years, and being that REDF is India's version of Yahoo, it is one of the better international internet plays out there. While that does not help Rediff's earnings later this month (on May 16th), it is one of those risky stocks that could make you a quick 10%. Of course it could also lose you a quick 10% as well, but I find that unlikely. Given that the company had a couple of bad quarters with lower EPS, but keep in mind that it is sill growing revenues by 50%. That being said, the stock has some risk to it, so risk averse investors are better off staying away from it. If risk is your thing though, I would buy it ahead of earnings. -- Faisal LaljeeFull Disclosure: I do not own any REDF but my position can change anytime without notice.

Now it has started mocking against Islam. Rediff has a long way to go! The vicious agenda is condemnable. Over the past few days it has highlighted the comments who have opposed Sania Mirza. The disclaimer of rediff reads The views expressed here are strictly personal and rediff.com does not necessarily subscribe to them. But it can publish them on it main page as if it were its own huh?
