According to Capcom, their little redesign of Resident Evil 5 had nothing to do with claims it was a little bit racist. It's a common question among people who so badly want a newer looking website, but don't want to lose the great search engine visibility that they are seeing. How much is too much, and if it drops will it ever come back?Unfortunately there is no guarantee that anyone can make you as to whether your rankings will go up, down, or remain the same. Change is the only constant in this rapidly changing business scenario and nothing manifests it better than the Internet. If that wasn’t enough, a truly revolutionary
The most static thing in this world is the term “change”. Why do I say so? That’s because things around us are changing constantly and thus, change is constant. With this note, let me continue with today’s article.

A number of reasons drove me to redesign the site, in part due to frustration with the existing one and inspiration to try something different.
My main frustrations were due to the fact I was posting a wide range of material whose messages I felt were getting mixed up.
One of the criticism's people had of my blog was that it jumped around between high (detailed overviews of UK Gov. G2G sysetm

Nintendo put the kibosh on recent rumors about a new DS design at E3 this week, stopping just short of calling Enterbrain head Hirokazu Hamamura a crazy person.I like you just the way you areNintendo will be unleashing plenty of announcements at this year's E3 conference, but a new DS design won't be one of them. The company issued a stern denial today regarding the DS redesign rumors that started circulating after Enterbrain chief Hirokazu Hamamura cited insider's info about the peripheral's future."We cannot comment on the specifics of what will be announced at E3, but at the very least there won't be anything like what Mr. Hamamura suggested, so would like to clearly deny this. We're having a hard time understanding what kind of evidence [Mr. Hamamura] had for saying this," said Nintendo

The BBC News website is extremely popular, so it's not surprising that yesterday's BBC Internet blog post about it's redesign attracted over 1000 comments - this must be a record? The News Website Editor, Steve Herrmann, explains the changes in terms of doing some research and asking people what they wanted changing (and heard what it appears they wanted to hear):But it was also clear from the feedback we got that there were others who thought the site design could do with a bit of a revamp – something we’d been thinking about doing for a while. The specific changes he focuses on are:the changed width - because 95% of screens are widermore open design - to make it easier to scannew masthead - which is about cross-site brandingbigger images - from user feedback and 'the power of pictures

If you run a website, chances are you often wonder whether it is the right time to do a total redesign of the layout of your website. Here are some points to consider:Are you thinking of a redesign just for the sake of it? If you answered yes to that question, it is not yet the right time to do a redesign. Remember, a design serves a specific purpose. If you are not sure whether to do an overhaul of your site, keep in mind that your current design might have a specific purpose that you might not know about. You will lose that function if you do a redesign. On the other hand, if your website has had the same website design since 1990, perhaps it is high time to do a redesign. The last thing you would ever want to happen to your site is when visitors leave your site without taking a look at y

Last week, after writing an article about 8 Web Design Mistakes That Developers Make, I took inventory of the old design, and decided it was time for a redesign (despite the fact that the old design only lasted two months). So this article not only ushers in the new design, but also answers the question: Why even redesign a blog in the first place? So here are 8 good reasons for anyone to redesign their blog.1. Things Have Gotten MessyBlogs evolve over time and although your layout and navigation seem intuitive to you, you've also been looking at it every day. Furthermore, you've probably added new sections and ideas along the way, finding ways to fit the content in a design that might not support it. Since a blog's core is its content, sometimes you need to clean up your existing design

I'm curently focused to redesign my blog layout. The previous version didn't look good thou, I found it difficult to maintain the very right sidebar to stay fixed. So, with the help from friends, I decided to create completely new Blogger Classic themes. I didn't develop the template CSS code from the default Blogger Classic template this time. I prefer three columns and minimize the use of image replacement and of course...sorts of tiresome experiments with the CSS codes.I think this would be better than the last I had, at least the two columns stay on their place nicely. But I'm kindda thinking to remove some unnecessary web elements if the loading get worst than before :( (and I have to) You can take a look to the beta version and could you please tell me what you think about this new d
So today we launched a new website design with one purpose in mind: to deliver more content in more ways. This meant expanding the site's width, creating more "linkage" throughout the site, and preparing room for even more content and features in the future. We also sharpened some weaker elements throughout. And of course, it was a perfect opportunity to rewrite the site in valid XHTML/CSS.

Returning visitors will notice that we have redesigned the blog. We had to upgrade to the new blogger template and it seemed like a good opportunity to redesign - I've personally never been happy with how the old blog appeared in Internet Explorer. You'll also notice that I got rid of the chat box - unfortunately one user left obscene messages, so it had to go.As usual, we'd really appreciate any feedback on the change in design (or anything else) - email us or leave a comment!
It seems that ever generous Mr. Cow in association with the nice people at Weborithm are offering to anybody who can persuade them enough - an entire blog redesign worth $449. How nice eh?
To be honest, I don’t need a blog redesign - considering I haven’t designed it in the first place. I’m happy as it is, but I am trying to generate some awareness (or something along those lines) of the offer - fair competition and all that!
Basically to win, all you have to do is blog about how great you and your blog are and why you deserve a new blog redesign. I suppose the “Because I’m Worth It” catchphrase can come into some moderate use here!
I suppose I better blog about how great I am! Warning, I don’t intend on holding back on being modest - well maybe a little! I was never any good at bragging - I’m not saying I don’t brag…I’m just saying I’m no good at it!
So why do I deserve a blog redesign?

What do all web browsers have in common? They look for certain consistencies across websites. These consistencies are in core elements that make navigation and utilization efficient and allows them to find information quickly In this post, Richard Hill suggests a number of ways that you can re-design your website in order to achieve improved usability and layout without starting from scratch. Here are his key suggestions.. Simple Navigation Navigation that is clear and consistent. Probably the worst issue is 'lost visitors' – those who are in a maze and don't know where they are in the site. The site should always allow users to easily return to the home page and preferably get to any page with a single click. Studies have shown that users want to find things quickly, and this means that they prefer menus with intuitive ranking, organization and multiple choices to many layers of simplified menus. The menu links should be placed in a consistent position on every page. Cla

I will not be posting an article Monday, because on Tuesday morning I will be hosting my first blog carnival. The 88th Festival of Frugality will be jam packed with some great frugal advice.
Second, for a while now I have been working on a redesign of the site. I hoped to release it this weekend, but caught an ugly cold that kept me down.

The small amount of tweaking I started on the site has turned into a redesign. I’m doin’ my best with it. It’s still unfinished, but it looks ok in IE. Firefox doesn’t agree. Ugh. I’m tempted to just slap a banner on it that says “Site viewed best in Internet Explorer”, but I just can’t [...]
I was getting tired of the old look. Here's a new look that's a nod to the Web 2.0 designs of late but without the "beta" emblems and rounded corners. I already get points for a silly name. What's interesting about this design is how much it accomplishes with so little. The CSS for the entire site is 40 lines. The banner graphics consist of just two 1K images. The images are thin vertical straight lines that are then repeated horizontally using a CSS repeat element. This makes the site very modem friendly without looking too plain.I'm also using Bloget in its standard mode without any template customizations. Again, I wanted to see just how far I could push the design using just CSS and standard HTML. I think it came out nicely.Bloget is coming along nicely. I've focused on usability in the upcoming release. Basically, if it annoyed me, I fixed it. I've also added some navigation aids in the administration section., started the long process of localization and streamlined the HTML
2008 Suzuki Hayabusa gets redesign, bigger engine, more powerThe unending contest between Suzuki and Kawasaki to see who can build the world's fastest streetbike continues, with Suzuki introducing an all-new Hayabusa for 2008. The bike's engine grows from 1299cc to 1340cc for '08, and a commensurate power jump is expected to let the new 'Busa equal or surpass the numbers put up by Kawasaki's hyper-performance machine, the Ninja ZX-14. Bikeland.org has hi-res pics and full features and specs on the '08 'Busa, which will be joined in showrooms by a naked edition dubbed the "B-King." The price for the the '08 Hayabusa's time-and-space-bending performance: $11,999. Suzuki's official site has the skinny on all the new '08s here.
UPDATE: Errr….last night I screwed up my new template, and it couldn’t seem to post comments. So I’ve resorted back to the old one. Don’t worry! I’m trying to fix it as we speak, just it may not get done today. Until then, just imagine it’s wonderous brilliance. The questions in this post still stand though.
It’s important to listen to your readers, I feel. After all, what is a blog without readers? I’m not talking about what to post or they should dictate to you what you should do about blogging, but reader feedback is essential.
Take the redesign of this blog. It was rather popular, but a few comments stuck out. The first was Celeste, who said it was too busy. She was right too, which is why I’ve spaced out the text a little more. It won’t fit on 800×600, but really, only technologically backwards people have their monitors that small these days. The second was from Claire, who checked this blog via PDA, and it
Almost finished re-jiggering the blog. Still a few tweeks to come over the next couple of days, but it’s late now and I’m tired.
