The popular Bumbo Baby Seats are getting a recall as they are potentially dangerous for children, over one million of the seats will be recalled which have been made by Bumbo International of South Africa. The Consumer Product Safety Commission said that the reason for this voluntary recall is due to the fact that if the seat is placed on a table, chair or countertop, children could arch their backs then flip out of the Bumbo seat and could cause serious head injuries if they hit the floor.
The CPSC says has said that they have received 28 reports of children falling out of the seats and hurting themselves, In fact three children sustained skull fractures when the seat had been placed on tables.
The seats that were sold from August 2003 through October 2007 and were sold by Babies R Us, Kmart, Sears, Target, Toys R Us, Wal-Mart, USA Babies and many others, and cost $40.

Kong Maxx Ladder Stands Sold at Gander Mountain Recalled Due to Fall Hazard

"It caught me off guard," Kesler said Monday. "I didn't know who it was at first."He (Boulerice) introduced himself and asked me how I felt. I was taken back." Needless to say, Boulerice was put on waivers by the Flyers today, despite his apologies to Kesler for the brutal cross check to the jaw. Hell, why pay a goon his salary for 25 games that he isn't going to play? Odds are, Boulerice will not be claimed and will not see anymore NHL icetime this year, or maybe ever. That will please a lot of goon skeptics I'm sure. The Canucks have recalled Alex Edler today and he will play tonight against the Sharks. I guess that puts little Mike Weaver in the press box doesn't it? Or maybe Krajicek is out.Matt Cooke, who was a healthy scratch last game will play tonight.Oh yeah, and the Canucks will win 3-2 tonight. Not sure how much of the game I can watch tonight, as it is hectic at work. T Tags: Boulerice+put+on+waivers Edler+recalled

Key Chains Recalled by Dollar General Due to Risk of Lead Exposure
(Thu, 04 Oct 2007 16:30:00 GMT) The key chains contain high levels of lead. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects.
On Saturday, in New Jersey, 21 million pounds of ground beef were recalled due to about a dozen cases of E.Coli reported.
E.Coli is an intestinal illness that for most adults can be treated within a week or so, but can be more serious (even fatal) for the young, the elderly, or those with compromised immune systems. At the Topps Meat Processing Plant several cases of E.coli were being reported and the plant has since stopped the grinding process for ground beef.
The Topps Meat Plant is now under investigation and several cases of E.Coli are still pending evaluation. To see what items are affected, visit the site.

California state health officials warned people today not to eat tofu products from a South San Francisco company because the food may be tainted with a dangerous bacteria.
The company, Quong Hop and Co. , has recalled all varieties of its Soy Deli brand tofu with a date code of Dec. 17, 2007, as well as three other brands.
San Francisco Gate September 25, 2007
The lists keeps growing and growing. This from the The New York Times:"Amid a fresh wave of toy recalls yesterday, a consumer advocacy group said it had found hazardous levels of lead in many toys made out of vinyl plastic, potentially expanding the scope of testing and recalls of contaminated toys. A random testing of more than 50 plastic toys found high lead content in 11 of them, according to Mike Schade, a campaigner for the Center for Health, Environment and Justice, which helped organize the testing. Ten were made out of polyvinyl chloride, also referred to as PVC or vinyl. Three contained “extremely high” lead levels — a Go Diego Go backpack, a Superfly monkey and a pair of Circo Lulu boots."Product safety laws are pretty useless when we now import just about everything sold here from China where few if any laws exist.
