Most of us have exprienced falling in line in a queue. Most of us decided to quit, most of us say "WTF?", and some were ended up nothing but to wait for their turn.This is the usual scenario when we try to get our National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) clearance. NBI clearance is the most pertinent document whenever we are trying to seek for the job, apply for visa, passport, or anything. In short
Well this is basically going to be an ode to shopping online. And it is not just because of queues, but achy feet, not having to dig through bins and bins of special offers, being able to compare several shops and products to each other at the same time – especially through price comparison websites – you can compare features too. The time saved in not having to travel into town, the excitemen

We’ve a little supermarket just beside us which we pop into quite often.
Now, you’d think that if you’ve only one item to get then it would take less time to get it than it would when you’ve a whole trolley to get. Except that it never works out like that.
Sure, you might have people in front of you but even if you remove that factor it still takes almost as long to get one item as it does to get most of a trolley load. Today for instance, I was just behind one old guy who’d maybe a half dozen items yet it took nearly 10 minutes to process those as he ran off to get something else while he was waiting then asked the checkout operator to get something for him which took her ages and, of course, he had to hunt for his money when she finally got through all the items.
If I’d been in the longer queue, I’d have been away quicker!
New airport X-ray screening machines have been introduced at major UK airports and could pave the way for a relaxation in hand-luggage regulations. The machines, produced by the Smiths Group, incorporate an Advanced Threat Identification X-ray facility which will be able to automatically detect explosives and liquid. The system provides more clear images of bag contents.
If harmful liquids or explosives are detected, a green light will appear on the screen in front of the security monitoring operator. The machines have already made an appearance at Heathrow’s new Terminal 5 with a further 11 machines installed at the west London airport.
The machines should enable passengers to pass through airport security a lot quicker and more will be rolled out at Heathrow in the coming months.
BAA hope to have the new machines at all seven of its UK airports, including Gatwick, Stansted and Glasgow.

The new Brazilian Defence minister has just declared that never-ending queues at the airports are the price you pay for safety.
Hold on. If the queues represent any price at all, it has to be the price of incompetence. Because 10 months of queues at the Brazilian airports have brought no safety whatsoever. So much so that president Lula declared yesterday - to the dismay of tourism authorities, I suppose, that every time he takes a plane in Brazil he puts his trust in God. The former Defence minister had already declared that the solution to the air crisis in Brazil involved “a lot of faith and a lot of praying”.
Are you still keen on a trip to Brazil?

In one of the article Introduction
to Linked Stacks, I said that representing data structures such as
Stacks and Queues as arrays had one major problem that it can’t have more
than a predefined number of elements. To overcome this we used linked lists
to represent stacks. In this article we’ll use linked lists to represent
queues.
Below are some graphics that illustrate the addition and retrieval of elements
to and from the linked queue.
FIG.: Addition of data to the linked queue
FIG.: Retrieval of elements from the linked
queue
I don’t think there is anything more that needs to be discussed, so let’s
have a look at the example program:
// -- Linked Queues --
// C++ Example Program to
// illustrate the representation
// of queues as linked lists
#include<iostream.h>
// node class, this will
// represent the nodes or elements
// of the linked queues
class node

public:
int info;
node *link;
};

Well it looks like Victoria Beckham is set to have a reality show flop in LA. The American audience don,t understand the British humour, apparently. We could have told her that. The problem is hamming it up when in reality that is the way you really behave. Its so hard being so fabulous, just pisses people off.We suggest she starts to understand the rules in LA for all Wannabes by having a night out at The Foundation Room, House of Blues, Sunset. A private room at the top for anyone who can get on the list or make friends with Kevin Morrow, the General Manager But beware Posh because even if you make the list, you could still end up with egg on your face.The door is guarded by big security men with handfuls of different coloured rubber wrist bands and if your name does not appear on the list, no matter who you say you are, entrance is forbidden.We could give Posh a recommendation to Kevin or she could look for our Man Nigel. Once you make it in to The Foubdation Room it is lots of fun.
Queue is a linear data structure in which data can be added to one end and
retrieved from the other. Just like the queue of the real world, the data that
goes first into the queue is the first one to be retrieved. That is why queues
are sometimes called as First-In-First-Out data structure.
In case of queues, we saw that data is inserted both from one end but in case
of Queues; data is added to one end (known as REAR) and retrieved from the other
end (known as FRONT).
The data first added is the first one to be retrieved while in case of queues
the data last added is the first one to be retrieved.
A few points regarding Queues:
Queues: It is a linear data structure; linked lists and
arrays can represent it. Although representing queues with arrays have its
shortcomings but due to simplicity, we will be representing queues with
arrays in this article.
Rear: A variable stores the index number in the array
at which the new data will be added (in the queue).
Front: It is a variable
We’ve heard of people queuing for the most wanted gadgets a day earlier but it looks as though the US Apple gadget geeks are taking this ritual a bit further by pitching their tents as we speak…four days early to get a slice of the Apple iPhone action!

British Airports Authority has pledged to cut waiting times at its airports to no more than 5 minutes for 95% of passengers. BAA will spend 40 million pounds to reduce queues at its seven UK airports. More security staff will be recruited to operate 22 new security lanes. However I did spot in the press release that “reduced congestion and better airport facilities would only cost a few pounds more per passenger.” Are you happy to pay more to queue for a few minutes less?
I don’t think I’ve ever had to wait more than 10 minutes, However I generally travel off peak days and times. What is the longest it has taken you to get through security?
If you are planning to travel New Zealand during the new year period of early January be prepared to be patient on our roads. Although New Zealand offers in contrast to Europe and US, a relatively traffic free road experience, the early January period is the exception. As mentioned previously, this is the time that New Zealanders take holidays resulting in long queue of traffic in and out of the popular summer "hot spots". Reports of traffic queued 5 to 10 kms heading back into Auckland are common on the weekends as Aucklanders head home to work. Beware of parking wardens that small towns employ during the holiday period to police and liberally issue parking tickets to the unsuspecting tourist.
Towns like Wanaka and Queenstown are among the South Islands busiest holiday spots. The Southern Lakes district receives an enormous amount of visitors during this period. Here you will find parking impossible and long queues at the petrol stations. The areas roads are thick with cars towing
