One of the coolest things about the modeling industry is getting to travel all over for work. And Miranda Kerr has been hanging out in her native land of Australia for her latest modeling gig. She was spotted cuddling up to a puppy during a photo shoot earlier today, looking very sexy in a magenta dress with black flats. ...

A heartwarming story with a happy ending... Here's the story behind the link - And they called it puppy love | NEWS.com.au. A tiny Staffordshire cross dog has been saved from a compactor by Sydney garbo [that's garbage man to non-Aussies] Max Byrne after being dumped in a bin. Mr Byrne spotted the dog wriggling under garbage in the back of his Leichhardt Council truck and retrieved the female pup before she was crushed. A large proportion of online readers have said she should be called Greta - after screen legend Greta Garbo. Others suggestions have included Maxine (after Max the garbo), Lucky and simply Garbo. Mr Byrne visited the puppy at an Annandale vet yesterday and emotionally recounted how he found her in a park in Lilyfield Rd, Rozelle, just after 6.30am on Monday morning. &q
One of our most serious and all pervasive issues has been the matter of pretend play.My son would often pretend to be a dinosaur and he was a very good mimic. As soon as I commented or guessed, “are you being a Triceratops?” he would collapse in a huge meltdown. I assumed it was because my guess was wrong and therefore very annoying. I later learned that it wasn’t the ‘guess’ that was wrong, it was the trigger word ‘pretend.’ Much later still, I learned that the word ‘pretend’ was offensive. It was offensive because he wasn’t ‘pretending.’ As far as he was concerned, he ‘was’ whatever he was mimicking. He ‘became’ whatever he mimicked. A budding method actor.………It’s the new wallpaper to my day. It doesn’t really matter what the subject is, or what we might be talking about, everything is peppered with Chihuahua. I blame the friend, or more specifically, the mother of the friend that bought the dog. She has no idea what her new pet has
Sleek greyhounds, goofy, but loyal Labradors, regal Poodles, dedicated Dobermans--dogs are everywhere. New figures just released from a National Pet Owners Survey show pet ownership is currently at its highest level, with 63 percent of all U.S. households owning a pet which equates to more than 69 million households in the US. Don't believe it? Take a look around. Some areas like mine have more dogs than public school teachers or four year olds. What exactly are we doing with all these dogs? According to Purina's State of the American Pet Survey at least 95% of pet owners are giving their dogs a daily hug, 45% of us are taking them on vacation and a surprising 43% admit to celebrating their dog's birthday. I'd say some dogs have it pretty good. Not bad for a creature that was once the answer to the question, "Whats for dinner?"So where are all these dogs? One place is the dog parks. Dog parks consist of a fenced area where licensed dogs are allowed to roam off leash and socialize.
Ok, so there were no surprises in my favorite Top Chef guest judge poll: Anthony Bourdain received twice as many votes as second place finisher Alfred Portale. Did anyone catch Anthony on Monday night's No Reservations? His awesome trip to China reminded me of my own recent journey there. Yes, delicious affordable street food is abundant everywhere you go in Shanghai, and yes the Chinese are casually cruel to their food animals. To them it's about freshness not animal rights, and everywhere I looked in food stalls or the meat sections of grocery stores I had to turn away from the sight of fish in obvious distress in their overcrowded tanks, and of live cooped up turtles and eels and ducks and chickens. I ate very little meat while I was there. As always I am amazed at Anthony's ability to pop anything in his mouth and say yum. If someone said, "Here try these nice weasel testicles made with a bat's lung sauce", I have no doubt our intrepid Anthony would give the dish a fair critique
It was bound to happen. I just didn’t think it would happen so soon.
Girlie Girl has a boyfriend. Yes, she’s only 5 years old.
A group of kids from her school got together at Chuck E Cheese after her graduation ceremony. As expected, all the girls played together and so did all the boys. All except my daughter, she ran around with her boyfriend. Whenever I checked on her to make sure she had enough tokens, she would tell me that “Kai” already gave her some. I felt like she was on her first date!
The first time I ever liked a boy, I was 12 years old. He was in my homeroom class and sat right in front of me because his last name started with the letter before mine. I had a crush on him for 4 years but we were never more than friends. In fact, he ended up marrying one of my best friends!
Do you remember your first crush?
We’ve covered the way stereotypical behaviour of women is portrayed in adverts here before, so it’s only fair that we cover that of men. So here goes:
McCoy’s crisps “ridged, thick and unashamedly colossal” depiction of men in their latest advert as homophobic, junior gangsters, without an ounce of loyalty makes me proud to be a [...]
Amy was one of those extremely cute high school girls who was irresistible yet agonizingly out of reach to the "regular" guys in the crowd. You know the type. So beautiful that you get an upset stomach when you get close to her. A good upset stomach. But an upset stomach of the kind never felt if you are over the age of 18. It was a feeling of exclusion. Exclusion form the pretty girl club. A fear that a girl that beautiful could never have a second thought for any guy not on the proverbial football team. Interestingly, after years of feeling this exclusion, I find out she was just as scared as all the the guys and always wondered why the guys were scared of her. So a side note to current high schoolers.... that feeling does feel like a big deal because it is but don't let it make you retreat into the world of shyness. Just ask. If you never ask you will never know. And know this. The person you want to ask is as scared as you are. So just ask. OK...enough of the lecture.

Puppy love is a term used to refer to that particular feeling of love between young people, especially the adolescent ones. It is called puppy love because it's either the love they feel for each other is like that of the playfulness puppies show, or it resembles the affection that may be felt towards a puppy dog. Generally, older people see puppy love as an incomplete, immature, or 'false' love compared to 'true' love.According to Wikipedia; "during Elizabethan times, it was known as 'calf-love', as a traditional example is in the famous William Shakespeare play Romeo and Juliet"I wonder if there's such a thing as a fetus love.Tagged as: love, puppy
My pride and joy, the apple of my eye, my buddy, my love, my baby Sherlock turns one today. When I had first set my eyes on the tiny chocolate Labrador whelp, I noticed his coat was remarkably white. I named him Sherlock- the one with white locks. Dad calls him Sherry; to his trainer he is Sheru, while mom calls him by assorted endearments in used to address a darling child. Surprisingly, Sherlock responds to every call. (A few years back I had a Pom, Watson, who would start yelping wildly every time the phone rang. His name was inspired by that of Thomas Watson, assistant to Alexander Graham Bell. The duo had invented the telephone and Watson was the first person ever to hear a phone ring.)Though Sherlock is only a pre-teen going by Labrador life expectancy he is already the perfect gentleman. He'll kiss you if you extend your cheek in greeting and raise his front right paw in a handshake gesture when you're properly introduced to him. When we go for a walk he ambles along with hi
How sweet is this scene from Top Design? Here are Matt and his puppy love admirer, Samantha, aka "Hollywood" aka "Fabulous." He could have told her that "we're going to paint skulls and crossbones a la Erroll Flynn on your black headboard," and you get the sense she would have agreed to anything he came up with. And this darling little photo below is to die for. Ryan ordered up pink, pink, pink for his cute client, Madison. From her excited expression, I'd say he was spot on when he chose the feather boa.Too bad we didn't see more of our young clients, and that the interminable length of time Bravo took with the judging prevented us from seeing them more. Was anyone besides me interested in the kids' comments? We're watching the COMPETITION Bravo, not the judges, get that into your thick-skulled minds.
