The New York Jets have announced that they have signed punter Jeremy Kapinos to the practice squad.
Kapinos (6-1, 235, Penn State), originally signed with the Jets as a rookie free agent July 2 before being waived Aug. 2. Kapinos punted at Penn State for four seasons, averaging 41.8 yards per punt with a career long of 78 yards. The Springfield, VA, native, was a finalist for the 2006 Ray Guy Award (the nation’s top punter) and was a third team All-America selection by the Associated Press. His 247 punts and 10,326 yards are tops in Penn State history.

The New York Jets have announced that they have signed undrafted free agent punter Jeremy Kapinos of Penn State and free agent center Charles Missant.
Kapinos made the 2006 AP All-American Third Team. A four-year starter, Kapinos’ 41.8 career average is tied for second in PSU annals. A finalist for the 2006 Ray Guy Award, he is the school’s career leader in punts (247) and punt yardage, with 10,326 yards.
Missant was originally signed by the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent in April of 2005 and has participated in Jets’ training camp in both 2005 and 2006. In 2006 he was allocated by the Jets to the Frankfurt Galaxy of NFL Europa where he won a World Bowl championship. In 2007, he joined Frankfurt for a second season and helped the Galaxy to their second consecutive World Bowl appearance.

Cozad's attorney has haid that his client is "frightened, apprehensive and concerned".Cozad has now been charged with attempted murder and could be sentenced 48 years behind bars if convicted.
