Pending Pinstripes is reporting that according to his father Bill, Alan's rehab is progressing, and he's thrown off the mound for the first time. He recently threw a 25-pitch bullpen session, only throwing fastballs, and did not report any discomfort.He will throw off the mound again on Wednesday, and he is working ongetting his mechanics back to where he wants them to be. Horne is probablystill a few weeks away from being all the way back, but it is encouraging to seethat he has not had any setbacks as of yet.

I know, it's all about developments recently. This time, as promised earlier this week, a bit of greenery (ok, so it's more browns, orange and yellows at this time of year). Queens Park, not looking its best, but even with a semi-drained lake and the leaves abandoning the trees you can still admire its beauty. The lake's islands break up the water superbly, and the way the banks lead you to the water's edge just can't be ignored. It will rise again, with new paths, bridges and buildings. There's a storm brewing about potential sponsorship of one the the planned schemes, but more of that later. Designers and engineers at Microsoft R&D centre in India have a new mandate for development of Windows 7, the next generation operating system from Microsoft Corporation, slated for release in 2009-10. This new operating system will have in-built features to address networking-related issues, virtualisation that helps create separate machines within a PC and various plug-ins for accessories for the new OS. The Senior Vice-President, Windows Core Operating System Division, Mr Jon DeVaan, said they have created the necessary platform for development work in India following a recent meeting of the Windows 7 group at Redmond, the Microsoft headquarters. New York Mets pitcher Pedro Martinez, who has been on the disabled list all season is starting to make some progress in his comeback. Martinez who is recovering from off season rotator cuff surgery, threw off the mound on Tuesday for the first time since the operation. Martinez who threw 31 pitches felt no discomfort in the effort. I looked at this painting and decided to rework it, making the sand cooler. It had been warmer, reflecting the very last of the sunset but I think it works better this way. It's about 48 ins tall.I'd like to do a night scene on a 40 inch square canvas - but will it be toooo dark and overpowering?
