...damn it, and I can't show you them! Yesterday I drew three of what I hope will be seen as the best cartoon gags I've ever drawn. Well, OK - one was a bit of a 'filler'. They have been sent off to PE - so fingers crossed. The good news (for you lot) is that it looks like the previous gags I sent have been ignored, so I might just post one of them here tomorrow. A bit strange all this. I'm still drawing at the same rate I was before - I'm just not showing anyone (as yet - they will start to filter through soon). You'll just have to take my word for it. Things will become more cartoony soon, I promise. Meanwhile, here's an old gag that some of the newer visitors might not have seen, and some of the very old visitors might have forgotten about!

The clock showed 6 minutes 54 seconds when Tomas Rosicky put the 3rd round qualifying tie beyond doubt.  After this goal the game was put way beyond any doubt.  Any nerves were settled and the Arsenal faithful were in for an easy night.  It was a pity the players felt this way aswell.  Sparta put up little or no fight at all and it almost became a training game for the lads in red.  Arsenal played it around and at times became lethargic and allowed Sparta a rare venture forward.  Otherwise it was a simple exercise of keep ball with the odd flourish into the opposition box.  Unfortunately the players never moved out of first gear and a second goal didn’t really look on the cards. So, while I was at the beach this week, I finally finished "Peopleware - Productive Projects and Teams" by Tom DeMarco and Timothy Lister. As I read through the book, I kept having these moments where I thought that the two authors were walking with me through my days at work. There were some major themes that were threaded throughout the book, and I think we all need to keep them in mind. I need you guys to think about the stuff that I can’t think about. I’m currently working on a tool that will hopefully make some of my/our pastoral meetings and coaching-type gatherings more productive. Up until now, when I meet together with other pastors, (especially those from our local church plants), I don’t feel like we are making the best use of our time and talents to deal with the issues that really need attention. For the most part, we say things like, “So, how’s it going?”, and we get responses like, “Oh, it’s all right.” Occasionally we deal with an issue up front and sometimes the needs that are requiring attention go un-addressed.
