Onda have taken the wraps off their new VX777 Portable Media Player which appears to be a revision of their VX767 PMP that, whilst aesthetically indistinguishable from its stable mate – which, when a PMP looks this good, is no bad thing – is billed as offering integrated WiFi and internet radio capabilities and which may (or may not) also sport touchscreen functionality.
Energy Sistem (not a typo on our part) have released the latest in their line of PMPs in the form of the new Energy 2021 Duo which, apart from offering all the media file compatibility and functionality one would expect from a PMP these days also comes with dual headphone/output sockets allowing two people to engage with the device – hence the device’s ‘Duo’ status.

iriver's W7 portable media player gets reviewedYeah, we had our fun just toying with the W7 at iriver's CES booth earlier this year, but the lucky souls at Pocketables were able to secure one long enough to write up a full-blown review. Straight out of the packaging, critics found the design to be attractive enough, albeit a tad chunky; particularly with this device, we'd say opinions on sexiness will vary widely depending on what floats your boat. Odd-I has just launched its new portable media player known as the P480, and this device looks pretty much the same as the T43. What you get is a different story altogether though, with Windows CE running as the operating system of choice. Features include DMB for portable TV, GPS to know where you are and where you're going, an SD memory card slot for expansion options, an electronic dictionary, and a choice between 30GB and 60GB models. Toshiba will be releasing the latest in the V Series, the 40GB V401 and 80GB V801. These latest versions include a new 4-inch, 24-bit color, 480 x 272 pixel display with built-in brightness sensor for automatic adjustment to local lighting conditions. They also support WM DRM10 and WMA 9 along with an improved 1Seg tuner and EPG for plenty of digital TV viewing and recording. The V Series are 24-mm thickness and a battery capable of 28/10/8 hours of playback audio/video/1Seg TV, respectively. Epson P-3000 portable media player: "Epson is more famous for making printers than portable media players, but that did not stop them from unveiling the Epson P-3000. This hard drive-based portable media player comes with 40GB worth of storage space and plays H.264 format videos on its 4' display. While the P-3000 gets three hours of playback time for video, it performs at double the length for audio - nothing impressive to be sure, as the disparity between video and audio playback time is usually much more than that. Forking out $499 for it seems pretty steep - I think most people would prefer to stick to their 80GB iPod Videos despite the smaller screen size.
