If you’ve ever had the misfortune of having a water cylinder freeze and burst, you know first-hand about what a devastating shock it can have on your home. The damaged channel itself is actually relatively lesser, but the dent caused by the leaking water operation through your stockade and ceiling can mean a major reconstruction project, requiring replacing drywall, ceilings and perhaps even fur

There are many available types of pipe for the pipefitting trades. I've worked with all of them. From black steel to blue brute underground piping, you name it and I've installed it at one time or another around the Los Angeles area. While you may think if you have seen one type of pipe then you have seen them all, think again. The wrong pipe installed in the wrong location can spell financial and structural disaster in just a few short months. Black Steel - the standby for sprinkler and gas lines. This type of pipe is available in varying wall thickness, called "schedule". The standard thickness for black steel pipe is schedule 40, which is more than enough steel to allow for machine threading. Black Steel piping can never be used for water supply lines; it is used primarily for gas lines

Plumbers, steam fitters, and fire sprinkler fitters use a variety of pipe types for various conditions. Some can be threaded while others cannot. Some can be used in supply lines while others are restricted by law. This article will discuss the various pipe-types used by pipefitters.

Hey AtA!Commodore64 here to report on a finding of mine that is pretty unfair. And since I'm up against a giant of an ISP, there seems to be a partial monopoly of sorts, and seemingly few options, since my whole building is wired with TW Cable. This is where the pen is supposed to become mightier than the sword. Mightier than even the giant that is Time Warner and it's plethora of constituents, conglomerates, divisions, sectors, departments, acquisitions and branches. This is why I must rant and vent and do whatever I know how to do to make sure that, at the very least, other people ahead of me will know what they are getting into as they get into it, rather than after they're knee deep. And this is the perfect forum to do it in. A geeky, giggidy AskTheAdmin forum for sharing new ideas and

Yahoo! Pipes is one of the coolest apps on the web for messing around with data. You can use it to splice together feeds, filter them, pull photos from Flickr and do a whole lot more. Manufacturing of Polypropylene Pipes:- Polypropylene Pipes (PP) pipes are manufactured by extrusion in the same way as PE pipes. Particularly in the case of PP pipes there are several different molecular structures available on the market. In the simplest case the molecular chain is built up of one and the same repeating unit often the same as the monomer shown within the brackets). The polymer is then called homo-polymer. If instead the molecular chain is built up of two different repeating units( A and B) the polymers is called co-polymer. In the case of PP the homo-polymer, often designated to PP-h, the repeating unit A is the monomer propylene. In PP co-polymers, designated to PP-c, the unit B is the monomer ethylene. Dependent on how the repeating units A and B are arranged in the mol

NEW YORK - Why are our Internet lines in danger of jamming up?One way of looking at it is this: Internet service providers have been serving us an all-you-can-eat buffet for years. That has worked great, because they've had more food than they knew what to do with and we've enjoyed the simplicity of a flat price and our pick of the dishes. But every year, our appetites have been growing. Some of us have turned into real gluttons, taking advantage of the pricing to eat 10 times as much as the majority of customers. The food is running out, and diners are starting to get in each other's way at the table. Now, Internet service providers are starting to limit the availability of dishes that are popular with the big eaters (controlling traffic). They're also considering telling us to stick to two

While I do not wish this to be misconstrued as an endorsement of Rudy Giuliani for President of the United States, I do believe that it is very important for people to know when someone like Dr. Daniel Pipes is advising a candidate. Daniel Pipes is one of the few experts around that truly understands the threat of Islam, so having him act as adviser could never be a bad thing for any future U.S. President. Now, if someone would just have the good sense to take on Robert Spencer as an adviser, then I would most likely endorse them.
Via the The New York Times:
Rudolph W. Giuliani’s approach to foreign policy shares with other Republican presidential candidates an aggressive posture toward terrorism, a commitment to strengthening the military and disdain for the United Nations.
But in developing his views, Mr. Giuliani is consulting with, among others, a particularly hawkish group of advisers and neoconservative thinkers.
Their positions have been criticized by Democrats a
There are several ways to combine multiple feeds into one and publish the aggregated feed.
In this post I am going to discuss two ways to do that and list out advantages and disadvantages associated with each.
The two very popular tools which allow you to aggregate feeds are:
Yahoo Pipes
Feedburner Network
Here is a video which demonstrates how to combine multiple RSS feeds into one using Yahoo Pipes and then subscribe to the combined feed:
Feedburner Network allows you to create a network of blogs using the RSS feeds for those blogs. It is a very effective tool to create a blog group based on certain themes. This blog is part of two Feedburner networks: India Technology Bloggers and Blogaloreans. If you have a Feedburner account (if you don’t you can create it free), you can create a network or search for a network and join it:

SQL Server 2000 supported named pipe backup device. SQL Server 2005 does not support named pipe backup device, however SQL Server 2005 supports disk and tape devices.
I receive following question many times, I have answered this question earlier on this blog. I will still answer it again.
What is my preferred method of backup?
We use SAN with RAID 10 configuration. Some industry experts suggested we are overprotecting our database backup. Well, Better safe than sorrow.

GAUTAM Gambhir's unbeaten 85 steered India to a seven-wicket win in the first one-day international with Scotland overnight. Chasing a revised target of 209 in 46 overs under the Duckworth-Lewis method, India finished on 3-212 as it warmed-up for a seven-match, one-day series with England, starting next week. Scotland's score was largely due to a stand of 82 between former England player Gavin Hamilton and Neil McCallum, with a handy 37 off 34 balls from Craig Wright boosting the total. India's reply got off to a slow start with 15 runs from the first seven overs but Robin Uthappa made 55 off 62 balls. His exit was the cue for Gambhir to up his tempo and he completed his half-century off 76 balls. Reuters

This handy dandy tip reposted from ApartmentTherapy.comBaking soda and vinegar are always in the kitchen and produce a remarkable chemical reaction that will clear out whatever's in the way when used with hot water and a plunger. This really works, the only caveat being that you have to do it more often than with commercial drain cleaners. But you'll save yourself from using the highly toxic Drain-O stuff that really doesn't do a perfect job AND contaminates your home. Of course, the best thing to unclog a drain is a plumbing snake, but that's for another day.The basic directions are...1. Get as much water out of the area as possible2. Pour 1/2 cup of baking soda down the drain3. Follow with 1 cup of HOT white vinegar4. Wait 10 minutes or until it stops bubbling and wash with boiling water5. Use a plunger if necessaryGeneral consensus seems to be that the vinegar and baking soda can be left in for any length of time, and that the hot water really makes a difference.

On February 7th, 2007 search engine Yahoo has initiated the public release of its new web application named Yahoo Pipe, a RSS feed based application builder. The Pipe is already hot and on every website marketing professional’s lips.

This simple tool will certainly invite innovative and creative uses of data around the world to do neat things like match Flickr photos with New York Times stories and search eBay with no ads (my favorite so far).
The editing interface is full of modules which allow you to import, manipulate, or output data. Arguably the most convenient feature is the ability to clone existing pipes to improve them and make them your own. The entire system and community seem to be progressing nicely, as new modules are being added each week.
Can’t wait to see even more mashups come from Yahoo! Pipes — especially ones that can be used by an average internet surfer. I definitely see a lot of potential in Pipes and look forward to making my own.
As I mentioned previously Yahoo! Pipes has a great deal of potential. The more you use the service the more you begin to see what can be done with it. Probably the most obvious use that jumps to mind (in fact its mentioned in the official description for the service) is mixing several feeds into one. While I wouldn't necessarily do this to many of my "must read" feeds, it certainly does make managing some of my less important ones easier.
The first mashup I created was designed to take a series of comic strips and mix them down into one feed. Besides simply showing the comics I wanted I also wanted to remove any of the "news" posts that tend to get mixed in. In this post I wanted to talk a bit about how I created the mashup and filter that accomplished this.

While Pipes certainly sounds powerful it's safe to say that the service is still in a beta-ish state. There's plenty of functionality, don't get me wrong, but every time I've had a stroke of inspiration I've found the service woefully lacking. It's not really enough to mash a couple feeds together, you really want the ability to quantify and label your results - right now Pipes really only lets you list them.
Despite being in its infancy, though, Pipes has a great deal of potential. In its current form Pipes can be used to combine multiple feeds, search m

Daniel Pipes, columnist, scholar of Middle Eastern history, counter-terrorism expert, founder of both the Middle East Forum (publishing the Middle East Quarterly) and Campus Watch, an author of 14 books, is well known in the US and the blogosphere, where he maintains his own weblog. Though not against Muslims, Pipes has been critical of radical Islam and its incompatibility with democratic values. On April 4, 2006, Dr Pipes was invited by Ken Livingstone, left-wing mayor of London, to attend a conference on the subject of the "Clash of Civilizations". Popularized by Samuel Huntington in 1993 and again in a book of the same name in 1996, the notion of a clash of civilizations has become a popular means of explaining and perceiving the modern world, particularly after 9/11.
House control in range for Democrats-Reuters poll
Democrats are getting very close to that magic number of 15," pollster John Zogby said. "Republicans are really on the ropes."
Doesn't seem like real big news here, now does it. Basically Zogby is telling us what we already know.
Democrats are ahead in races for 12 of 15 key Republican-held seats in the U.S. House one week before the Nov. 7 elections, placing them within striking range of winning control of the chamber, according to Reuters/Zogby polls released on Wednesday.
Five Democrats had comfortable double-digit leads in the battle for the Congress, with just one Republican, Michele Bachmann in Minnesota, holding a double-digit advantage.
The most interesting thing to me is that John Zogby (who is usually a cheerleader for the Democrats) is not predicting the 25-30 race bloodbath that many other pundits are. Maybe John's overzealous predictions of a 2004 Democratic wave is keeping him a bit underwhelmed.

While RSS end-user adoption has been relatively slow, marketers have jumped at the chance to use this new internet channel increase their online sales. If you're new to the world of RSS --- RSS is a simple technology that allows you to deliver your online content directly to your subscribers, other websites and the search engines. It helps you improve your content delivery, as well as increase your online traffic and reach, and even conduct business intelligence more easily. RSS content is delivered through so-called RSS feeds, which are just simple files that carry your online content. Each of these simple files contains multiple "stories" that you may want to deliver to your audiences, called "content items". A content item can be anything … an article, a blog post, a whole newsletter issue, a sales letter and so on. But there is more to RSS than simply getting your content out. There is rarely a dull moment in this home building adventure. So, we had to dug into the drywall, cut the pipe, and patch the spot before the cabinets could go in. Here, Jim is burning the midnight oil trying to patch this up as best as he can. No
