PETALING JAYA: What was supposed to be a nice traditional treatment ended up being a horrifying event for Liew Yooi Hean. Instead of getting a soothing cupping therapy, the 28-year-old salesman ended up suffering from painful burns, which left marks all over his back. Last Sunday, he went to a local massage parlour in Puchong here to get the treatment, but midway through the session he experienced an extreme burning sensation. “For 20 minutes I was left alone in the therapy room with my back on extreme heat,” he said. The therapy involved placing heated glass cups on the back. People believe that the treatment helps remove wind from the body. “I noticed blisters all over my back and there was water and blood oozing out,” he added. Young people who mix energy drinks with alcohol are twice as likely to end up harmed than those who just drink alcohol, a study says. I received my calling into ministry at the age of twelve and really didn’t know what I was called to exactly, just that God had something special for me to do. As I served in youth ministry I truly loved that and enjoyed our kids so much. But it was in worship ministry that I felt my truest sense of calling confirmed. When I lead worship I feel a great peace and joy that THIS is what God created me to do. As I direct others to focus on God I know that “yes, this is what I was made for”.
