Russians Beat Spaniards In Overtime in Toronto
It was a long day for Rafael Nadal in Toronto, after waiting for a few hours to play his singles match he had to play doubles as well along with Tommy Robredo but the Spaniards were not able to score a victory as a team in this occasion.
Igor Andreev and Nikolay Davydenko defeated Rafael Nadal and Tommy Robredo 3-6, 6-3, 10-7 at the Rogers Cup.
More than a year ago I asked the question, "Is time spent outside the office e-mailing from a Blackberry compensable under the Fair Labor Standards Act?" According to yesterday's New York Times, writers for ABC News are asking the same question. BlackBerrys blur the lines between work and play. A recent dispute at ABC News asked: at what point does checking e-mail after hours consti

Do not get me wrong, I am quite confident Barack Obama will become the Democratic nominee, but Hillary Clinton is at the very least making things quite interesting. As Obama continues to get super delegates and Democrats push for Clinton to withdraw her candidacy, she continues to prove she belongs in the race. I feel that too many people fail to understand the general premise of politics, especia
One article that caught my eye last week while I was out was a piece by Tracy Coenen, on her Fraud Files Blog, about a scam that was uncovered in the Wisconsin prison system. It seems that under the prison's overtime policy, the guards figured out that they could call of sick for their own shift, but then pick up the next shift and collect time-and-a-half for overtime.
It appears that the Wiscon
The Devils are alive after a 4-3 overtime win against the Rangers.John Madden banked the puck off a Ranger's skate nearly from behind the net. If Madden intentionally did what he did — he's a genius. If it was simply by chance, I'll still take it.Honestly, I didn't expect it would happen. But it did. And now, the "road" team has won all three games of the series. It's on to Game 4 Wednesday at Madison Square Garden.Excuse me for dropping my pessimism, if even just for a night. Here, now, are highlights from the game.
The Devils and Rangers are heading for overtime. In his incredible career, one of his most horrendous stats involves overtime.Since 1992, his first year in the playoffs, Brodeur has 10 wins and 19 losses in OT.Henrik Lundqvist, meanwhile, has only played in two OT games in his playoff career, and he's got 1 win and 1 loss.If you ask me, based on history, the Devils will not win this game.
~Snooper~San Fran Nanny Nancy Pelosi, the singularly most unpopular SOH in our nation's history is trying extra hard to alienate an ally in South America via blocking the vote to bring about the most needed free trade agreement with Colombia. I can only surmise that Colombia is off track to become a socialist state...must piss her off pretty badly.Judge Bob is doing his best to bring about an end to King Pork Boy's regime in Pennsylvania by exposing the charlatan's antics to the people of PA and the nation as a whole. No wonder Nancy is upset. While our Armed Services are killing our enemies, Jimmy Carter is doing his best to ease their pain by once again, befriending our enemies. What a maroon this guy is. Bobby Simmons signed a $47 million contract with the Milwaukee Bucks nearly three years ago. He earned a little chunk of that contract on Tuesday night as he scored 12 of his 24 points between the end of the fourth quarter and overtime to lead the Bucks to a 119-115 win against the New York [...]
Warren, Michigan ( ThaLunatic Daily ) -- Officer David Kanapsky of the Warren police department is at odds with his community and finds himself under the scrutiny of local media who have unraveled a 'tickets for overtime' scheme that some officers are using to cash in big on ticket writing. In a suburb of Warren Michigan there's a loophole in the system - A loophole Officer Kanapsky has found and has taken full advantage of to the tune of over $21,000 in paid overtime. When an officer writes a ticket in Warren and appears in court in his off-time, he's paid a minimum of 4 hours in additional overtime, according to acting Police Commissioner Jere Green.Officer Kanapsky writes a lot of tickets. Thousands and thousands of tickets each year. Many of them are written for stop sign violations.
Yesterday, for the umpteenth time squared by as many, India’s parliamentarians stalled proceedings in Parliament. Like always, they rushed with aggressive intent to the well of both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, shouted like drunk men in a seedy bar do over loud music, and made sure that no business could be conducted. Yesterday too, after decades of being in Parliament, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Somnath Chatterjee, got enlightenment, not quite like the Buddha, no not West Bengal’s Chief Minister, but the original one who had got it more than 2,500 years ago. Sitting in the Speaker’s chair, he at last saw what the whole nation, indeed the world, has been seeing for years with shame and disgust respectively. Indian politicians are the most ill behaved, irresponsible and

LeBron James basketball last night against the Memphis Grizzlies was in one word, spectacular. I think he was even surprised with how many points he scored in the Cavs 132-124 victory. LeBron James basketball afforded his team a season high of 51 points. Along with those points were 8 rebounds and 9 assists. By looking at those numbers you would think Cleveland dominated that game but in reality it went down to the wire that then led to an overtime victory.
It is safe to say that last night's showing of LeBron James basketball was something that people are going to be talking about for awhile. The Memphis fans that attended last night's game got to see something amazing. Can anyone say leading NBA scorer? What blows my mind is that this is not the first, second or third time that LeBron
With the bunched up standings in both conferences in the NHL this season, talk has been about so-called “artificial parity.” This is usually attributed to the frustrating overtime and shootout system that sees one point given to the loser in either post-regulation game situation, while the winner receives two.

The problems with classifying paralegals as non-exempt has begun. The city of Palo Alto has agreed to pay $335,000 to settle one of its paralegal's overtime claims.Casey O'Neill, a claims investigator and paralegal, will receive $51,107 in unpaid overtime, $51,107 in liquidated damages, $163,320 in attorneys' fees, $26,567 in costs and $42,900 in severance pay, according to a settlement finalized Oct. 18 in the Northern California branch of the U.S. District Court.O'Neill, who began work as a claims investigator and paralegal in 1993 and sued the city in August 2005, also tendered her resignation, effective June 1, 2008.In a complaint filed in July, O'Neill's attorneys argued that the city improperly classified her as an employee exempt from being paid overtime because her work did not include "executive, administrative or professional duties."O'Neill also said she worked at least 55 hours per week, while only being paid for 40 hours, between July 1993 and May 2005. Until then,
Today marks my 9th day in a row going in to my telemarketing job. Because I lost most of a day when Gamer Dude had a doctor’s appointment I only wound up accumulating 45.75 hours in my first overtime-eligible week (also because they didn’t tell me til Thursday that I could work over). I hope to do slightly better this week.
I am not a happy camper overall. Mr. Grumpy (my dad) has been nit-picking a lot the last couple of days and my tolerance is low based on my own fatigue and stress levels. An example can be seen in last evening.
I left for work before 11:30 and came home just before 7:30. GamerDude was on my computer, Miss Angst was at a friend’s house, Princess Nibbles was upstairs watching a movie so I heated myself up some leftovers and went into the back room to watch a little TV. Mr. Grumpy decided to stick his head in and ask me why I wasn’t studying.
Grrrrrrr
Anyway, my plan the next couple of days is to tackle a small stack of reading, do s

Oury Atlan, Thibaut Berland, Damien Ferrie haben ein wunderbares Stück Animation geschaffen, einen Tribut an Henson und die Muppets. THE PASTOR OF THE STREETJerimiah 3:15 states "And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, and they will feed you with knowledge and understanding".While the world of hip hop is flooded with flamboyant rap artist, platinum chains, and meaningless messages, there remains a remnant that refuses to conform to the ways of the world. Steadfast in his faith 21 year old Street Pastor has emerged as an urban missionary to those influenced by Hip Hop culture. With over twelve years of experience in the ministry the "young veteran" seeks to be a model and a messenger of the gospel's transforming power especially (but not exclusively) among the hip hop generations.Yaves Ellis AKA Street Pastor has been trailblazing the Christian Hip Hop scene for the past decade. Beginning at the age of nine.
Ryan Newman, driver of the #12 Penske Alltel Dodge finished Tuesday's race at MIS in 16th position. Newman's average finish for MIS before today's race was 16.7. Newman started in the 34th position and brought a bad handling car up to 16th. Newman's teammate Kurt Busch won the race after dominating and leading 92 laps. Newman managed to stay out long enough on green flag pits to lead a lap and gain 5 bonus points. Towards the end of the race Newman was getting a lot of work done on his car and dropped back to 21st, one lap down. Later, Matt Kensith spun Gordon (Gordon said it was his fault after the race) and Newman was the Lucky Dog. Newman restarted 20th on the lead lap. With 2 laps to go Gregg Biffle got loose and spun. This set up the Green, White Checkered finished which Newman managed to gain a couple of positions and finish 16th. This was not a good points day for Newman. His battle for 12th in points
So I stroll out of my air conditioned classroom and go down stairs to meet the next class and think " hey....photo-op!!" and they were thinking?? well look at the pick.Personally I imagine they were saying "Damn!!!....my teacher is a ____ing moron!!" or maybe " Hey genius...it's 97 degrees...think we might get a bit of that air-con?? Ya think??"Of course they put up with my dumb request and had a great class.
I am a big believer in gathering statistical information regarding my team's performance. This information is kept as my own little secret. Although the team know exactly what data I collect and measure, the information never leaves the team. Specifically, nobody higher in the food-chain has the option to see it or, in fact, know that it even exists. I do this for several reasons:

I was just going into the house when the phone was ringing. As I got to the phone it stop ringing. I looked at the caller ID and it was out of area call. More than likely a sales person that called. As I looked at the caller ID I saw my mom's number and one that I didn't recognize. I turn on are answering machine and mom said for me to call her some time today she wanted to talk to me. The time was 9:07. The other call was from my wife and she said she had to work overtime and said she would be late. She said to make the kids supper or take them out and she will call me later. The call came in at 11:21.I went into the kitchen to make a sandwich and get a beer. I was wondering where she called from because I didn't recognize the number. It wasn't her work number; I wasn't even sure what area it was in. I knew it wasn't from the city and she works in the city. I was a salesman and decided to stop home for lunch. As you may already know, the "intensives" session has started at our school. Students are on their winter vacation right now. What's the best way to enjoy your month off from studying? MORE STUDYING AND ACADEMIES!--"Thanks mom!"
I have students who are taking up to FIVE (that's right, FIVE) academies right now. Some of my students aged 12-13 are staying up to 2AM in the morning completing their homework and waking up at 6AM. It's absolutely insane if you ask me.
As for ourselves, we show up for work around 8:30AM and we get off at 7:55PM. That's teaching three classes that are three hours long. My classes are really enjoyable--the kids are keen and very fun to work with. However, standing and teaching nine hours a day, five times a week is starting to wear down our bodies. My "cankles" hurt (I don't have cankles; this is for all you Shallow Hal fans out there) after standing all day. Anyways, on the bright side we are making some extra money by working like slaves in a Nike shoe
