Overpriced homes scare away more than buyers
In my business, there's a saying "listing is lasting." It means listing agents last in the business. There's truth in that and of course, exceptions. My point is that in a normal or strong market, Realtors want listings. But the Portland real estate market, like most of the U.S., is slow. Slow enough that Realtors, smart ones, are declining bad listings. At my recent office meeting, one agent fl

      Target's Bullseye Bodega = An Overpriced Wal-Mart
For my last day in New York City I decided to stop into Target's Bullseye Bodega to see what all the hype was about. Well, hype was all it was because I thought this bodega sucked a big one.The concept was interesting. Offer brand new designer lines from Target in four little shops around NYC and make them look like bodegas. Fun, right? Not to me. It was crowded as hell in there and the atmos

News Flash: Photoshop is Overpriced (which could be hurting Adobe’s profits)
In a recent poll here on Epic Edits, I asked How Much Would You Pay for Photoshop? It’s no surprise that the results indicate that Photoshop is priced way above a majority of the market willing to pay. This poll spawned from a previous Photoshop poll that told us 60% of Photoshop Users are Pirates! Many of the responses to that study mentioned the outrageous price Adobe charges for Photoshop and

2008 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500KR: The Most Ridiculously Overpriced Mustang Ever?
Way back when the Ford Shelby Mustang GT500KR was announced at the 2007 New York auto show, we speculated that it might cost $50,000—maybe $55,000, tops. Turns out we were very, very wrong. Ford today released pricing information for the 540-hp, supercharged ultra-Stang, and it will cost a whopping $79,995 plus a likely $1300 gas-guzzler tax when it goes on sale in May. That’s right folks, more than any production Mustang in history, and more than several Car and Driver favorites. What possible reasons could a person who ponies up eighty large for a Mustang—the same amount as three Mustang GTs—have for passing up so many indelible automotive delights? What thoughts might rush through their heads? A rundown, in order of price: BMW M3 ($55,875): “Sounds too good, not enough torque,

Real Estate Professionals Sometimes You Just Have To Withdraw Those Overpriced Listings!
Sometimes being a Real Estate Trainer can be quite frustrating, not that different from a real estate professional or a buyer or seller. For me, its painful to watch an agent take a listing for a year...to spend a years worth of marketing and still no sales contract and then come to me and ask why their listing hasn't sold. Once we go through the file..I notice..overpriced...no price reduction in sight..unsaleable..sometimes uncooperative....darn it...get smart and withdraw that listing! Since starting the second quarter...I have been watching our inventory..and I am shocked as to how few listings we have as a company..until I start talking with the associates and going through the MLS...The reality...seller's aren't realistic in their prices still but not to worry because I guarantee on

RegSweep Review - Is This Product Overpriced?
By Thomas Eliot As a registry cleaner, our testing has shown that RegSweep is a reliable, fast, and consistent registry repair program. It does perform in the way that the product's website says it will, and in our test, the utility scan did complete its test in under two minutes. It found an amazing number of errors (319), over and above our resident registry cleaner. As a registry repair tool, this utility certainly does rate among the most thorough of programs on the market. That said, RegSweep, in comparison with other programs in its class, is little more than a registry cleaner for the price. True, it does have a Backup control as well as a Startup Manager, and these features are to be expected on most top-of-the-line registry cleaners. But this is where RegSweep's extra features end.

      Overpriced pizza
About a week ago I met up with some of my former co-workers for a get together at the Round Table Pizza in Sunset Square in Bellingham. I've been to Round Table Pizza in the past in California and never really paid attention to the price of pizza there, because it was usually with my family. Anyhow, I ended up buying two x-large pizzas (King Arthur Supreme and the UltaMeat) and I spent over $55 on two x-large pizzas! WOW! They were good, but overpriced. Another gripe we had was how long it took to get our pizzas. One of my friends waited the longest, I believe it was about a half hour, and was not pleased.I thought it would be a fun place to go to, but they lack games and other fun stuff to do there, and the space itself is somewhat small. We might get a pizza to go from there down the roa

Overstocked And Overpriced - Charge It!
Headlong toward a recessionby Long Island Business News - 10/4/07 snip:If the national economy stumbles into a recession – and local economists are increasingly fearful it might – it could very well start right here. Overstocked with overpriced homes and suffering equally from chronic brain drain and dwindling job creation, Long Island may become the poster child for all that has suddenly gone wrong with the U.S. economy.Foreclosures become windfalls for storage firmsby Staten Island Live - 10/7/07 snip:A recent spike in foreclosure filings on Staten Island is helping self-storage facilities here thrive like never before, according to those who manage them. Many of the Island's 11 self-storage facilities are near capacity. Thousands of units are filled with furniture, appliances and decorations owned by people whose mortgages are in default -- and those in the industry are hoping it stays that way. Real Homes of Genius: Today we Salute you Cerritos. All 88 Los Angeles County Cities Overpriced.
What an interesting week. As Rome burns and the political syndicates offer every possible option of bailing out the rouge gamblers and maverick flippers, they fail once again to highlight the nucleus of this bubble. Forget that the Bush Administration is offering a bailout plan even after he said they would do nothing last week. Pay no attention to the Fed with their implied wink-wink posturing that they will lower rates. So what. Homes are so overpriced in nearly every metro area in the country that they can drop rates to 0 and it still won’t make sense to buy because prices are out of line with local household incomes. Would you like to buy a beat up Ford Pinto for $30,000 simply because the interest rate is 0 percent? Apparently this is happening with all these Real Homes of Genius we are seeing. You may think that we are grabbing at low hanging fruit. But these homes are priced from $300,000 to $500,000+ in lower to middle income areas. Last time I checked, $500,000 was

Vancouver among most overpriced real estate markets
Rome landed at No. 2 with a P/E of 50.51; it's a slow growth market, which remains very expensive. Representing North America in the world's top 10 were Los Angeles (5th place at 26.88) and Vancouver (6th at 26.81). For a list of America's most overpriced real estate markets. Many of the world's most expensive markets, such as London and New York, didn't make the top 10, and were beaten out by less expensive markets that had lower yields and smaller rates of appreciation.

      Are single hotel rooms overpriced?
I was doing some research this morning for my somewhere for the weekend feature, highlighting late availability offer in the UK and looking for accommodation in Italy for a family and I couldn’t help noticing the relatively high cost of single room in the UK and Italy. On many occasions a single room was almost the same price as a double or twin. What do you think is a fair price to pay for a single room.  I think if the room is a small single room is should be half the price of a double/twin room.  I know that in some hotels they have a policy of putting single guest in a double or twin room is one is available, whereas other establishments  will allocate you a single room even if a larger room is empty.

Vista Pricing in UK and is Vista really overpriced?
In the UK, Brits are angry that Windows Vista is far more expensive than in the U.S.. Windows Vista Home Premium, which carries an MSRP of $159 in the States, is £129.48 in the UK, coming out to $254.53. Microsoft offers no explanation for the huge gap, although most all products are more expensive in Britain than America, just not by so large a margin. For example, a $600 Mac Mini is $778.61 in England. Talking about pricing, Robert McLaws has done a study of basically every single version ever of Windows, and determined that based on inflation, Windows has gone down in price for the most part for more than a decade. Credit Card Insurance: Is It Overpriced? [Digg]
The answer to the question of whether credit insurance is overpriced depends whether you are looking at it as a whole or whether you are looking at it in terms of what other credit card issuers are charging. Even if your credit card issuer charges more than that of another issuer, you have to look at the benefits that are part of the package before
