      Hugo Claus Obituary
From The Telegraph :   Hugo Claus, who died on March 19 aged 78, was a versatile and prolific author best known for his sprawling, impressionistic, semi-autobiographical novel The Sorrow of Belgium (1983), in which he threw an unpitying spotlight on bourgeois Flemish society.   The novel explored life under the Nazi occupation through the eyes of a teenage boy, and exploded the myth of widespread resistance that provided Belgium with a thin comfort blanket after the war, exposing the extent of collaboration, hypocrisy, religious bigotry and wilful ignorance that had enabled the Nazis to dispose of some 40,000 Belgian Jews with barely a whisper of protest. Regarded as a landmark of post-war European literature, it won Claus several nominations for the Nobel prize for li

Obituary :: Cause of death (1991)
Line Up:John Tardy - vozJames Murphy - guitarraTrevor Peres - guitarraDavid Watkins - bajoDonald Tardy - bateriaTrack

Obituary :: Slowly we rot (1989)

Obituary of the late Mr. Common Sense
Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as: Knowing when to come in out of the rain; why the early bird gets the worm; life isn’t always fair; and maybe it was my fault. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don’t spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge.) His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6 -year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job tha

      Obituary - Live in Dublin
Obituary is one of the pioneering bands of the death metal genre. The band hailed from Tampa, Florida, founded as Xecutioner in 1985. Shortly before the release of their debut album, they changed their name to Obituary. They still remain an influential band of the Florida death metal movement that arose in the late 1980s. Their 1990 release Cause of Death is hailed as a seminal album in the genre, and vocalist John Tardy is recognized as one of the first vocalists to use an abnormally low growl (compared to the screechy growls used by predecessors Death and Possessed). The band disbanded in 1997, and reformed in 2003. During the hiatus, Donald Tardy played in Andrew W.K.'s touring band, going as far as to wear an Obituary shirt during W.K.'s appearance on Saturday Night Live, Allen West focused on his two projects, Lowbrow and Six Feet Under. Trevor Peres formed Catastrophic in 2001, which will continue to exist concurrently with the reformed Obituary. (Obituary - Wikipedia)Part 1Part

      Sherif El-Falali's obituary
This is for sure the first time of its kind that we find an obituary in a newspaper for someone who was convicted for espionage , Sherif El-Falali's family had decided to publish an obituary for him in the newspaper to announce his death and the date of the memorial service. The strange thing is the newspaper they chose at first as far as I know refused the rich family request ,it was Al-Ahram which despite its greed and hunger for money "few lines in a column equal to thousands in their obituary service" could n't publish the obituary of a spy Anyhow because of that refusal they decided to go to another newspaper , the controversial best selling independent newspaper "El-Dostor" in its weekly issue which this week is covering the El-Falali's case again revealing interesting  facts about his death concerning the forensic report I will not talk about the forensic report now but instead I will share with you the obituary because this is a rare thing ,

      Writing an obituary
Last night I got a call from my neighbor, Jack. He wanted me to come over with a pad of paper and a pen, telling me he had a task for me.When I arrived, he teared up and asked me if I'd write Hetty's obituary. No, Hetty has not yet died, she was napping when I arrived, but the hospice social worker had given Jack a pamphlet Tuesday that listed the symptoms of an actively dying person. Jack read it carefully, highlighting those symptoms that Hetty is experiencing (not interested in eating solids, only interested in drinking liquids, tired all the time, etc.). I think it was then that he finally understood and accepted that Hetty isn't going to get better and that she won't be here with us much longer. I think this is what prompted him to call me.You may wonder why he's asking me, his neighbor, to write his wife's obituary, rather than his son or daughter? Truthfully, I wondered the same thing. Jack simply said that he didn't want to burden his children with this task but, for his

Obituary - Australian Whaling Ship Captain
By Chris PashAndrew Gordon CruickshankBorn: October 8, 1925Died: May 5, 2006Gordon Cruickshank liked to sneak up on a sperm whale. He’d come in behind the pod, drift into position and line up his target, the one whale he wanted. The master and harpoon gunner of the chaser Cheynes III bagged one of the last whales caught in Australia. He was there at the end when Australia’s last whaling station, and the last in the English-speaking world, closed at Albany on November 21, 1978.The Cheynes III could drift without power for several miles and still have some steerage. Gordon liked to be as quiet as he could.“I’d shut everything off about 50 yards out, come right up behind them and get a shot just under the little flipper they have on their side.”A head shot was no good. It was an easy target, almost one-third of a sperm whale’s body length, but it was tough. A harpoon could bounce off.Recounting the technique in the pub, he would emphasis the point of the story with a sudden jab
