I'm not going to ask what more could wrong... it's ok, I have coffee.
This morning I lay awake in bed, my mind reeling with everything that's been going on in the past month and most recently my husbands car blowing up last night and how much it's going to cost to have it towed to the mechanics and how much it will cost to fix and whether we can actually afford to buy a new (crucially needed) vehicle... we can't. And I hear crunching outside the window.I swear it so

Not Going to Care Too Much
On Monday morning, the sudden news of George on leave wrecked my entire plan. I wanted to spend my time concentrating on the design work for Faris and his website but I ended up spending the time on catching up with the assignments instead. It was the first time I took over from George to stand in front of the kids even though I was given quite a number of times earlier on. Training is not going as planned
I'm ashamed of the little effort I have been able to put in my triathlon training. I was planning to swim once a week, run 3 times a week and cycle during the weekends in combination with 3 strength-training sessions.  I'm publicly admitting that this has absolutely failed. I'm using the same excuse as I have seen so many times before and I thought I was immune for this: time and lots of work. E

I am NOT going to cut back on my cup of coffee
Many personal-finance sites and authors talk about the need to cut your day-to-day expenses so that you can boost your savings. Good simple advice, but some who propose concepts like the obligatory measure of eliminating your daily cup (or two or three) of coffee and investing what you would have spent on it - are going too far. Yes, if you save $3 a day, for $720 a year, you will have some number like $10,000 in 20 years saved. A lot of money no doubt. However, in life you got to live a bit, for which you need to spend a bit. In my view, life's daily little pleasures like my morning cup of coffee have an intangible value to me which far exceed the $3 or so I spend on it. Maybe it's the caffeine or the simple experience of taking the time out to get the coffee and the 5-10 minutes to catch

Fundraising by Kurdish "front organizations" in Europe is a major source of PKK cash; the Turkish government has been pressing central and western European countries to shutdown the "fronts" operating in their territory. Turkey has especially put pressure on its NATO allies.  The other big source of PKK money is the drug business. Yes, the PKK is involved in drug smuggling. This is old news but the kind of news that often gets little media coverage. Fed Keep Planning To Cut The Interest Cut Signals Us The Whole Market Is Not Going Better But Worsen
Ben S. Bernanke, chairman of the Federal Reserve, acknowledged on Thursday that a “fresh wave of investor concern” had led to tougher credit conditions that posed new risks to the economy, reinforcing the view that the Fed is likely to cut interest rates again, when it meets on Dec. 11. Speaking one day after another top Fed official signaled that policy makers might have to reduce interest rates to head off trouble, Mr. Bernanke pledged that the Fed would remain “exceptionally alert and flexible” in setting policy. “Needless to say, the Federal Reserve is following the evolution of financial conditions carefully, with particular attention to the question of how strains in financial markets might affect the broader economy,” he said. Mr. Bernanke’s comments backed up those on Wednesday by Donald L. Kohn, the Fed’s vice chairman, who said that the economy might face bigger problems than the central bank had expected and that policy makers would have to be “nimble.” T

I don’t think I’ve ever wanted anyone to go away more than covert, super-spy, 007, Valerie Plame. And her husband too. Even though we all know Richard Armitage is the one who leaked her identity, Plame and her idiot husband continue to peddle the fantasy that the Bush Administration leaked her identity on purpose. Richard Armitage leaked her identity in passing because he’s a gossip. As Deputy Secretary of State he was one of the most outspoken critics of the Iraq war and was certainly not considered an ally of the Bush Administration. Of course, Valerie Plame doesn’t plan to let a little thing like “truth” get in the way of her book sales. Star Trek Legacy, not going anywhere near where men have gone before…
I have a lot of respect for Bethesda Softworks, they brought us Oblivion…and that was not half bad!! But every now again a game is made….that should never have been made. Star Trek Legacy is a space combat simulator. It has a single player campaign mode, a skirmish and multiplayer mode (correct me if i’m wrong). Graphically the game is adequate. The ships are well rendered and receive battle damage as the game progresses. The many planets and nebula are also well rendered. No praise at all here, it looks “OK” nothing more. The single player campaign consists of flying from one planet or asteroid belt to another and scanning aimlessly. Usually a cut scene comes along to present the next fight….which brings me on to the combat……there is none. Basically this is how in-depth the combat gets….ready…..Left mouse button fires phasers…..and you guessed it…..right mouse button fires photon torpedoes! You don’t aim,

It's Not Going So Well... and other stuff...
Well, two (just two) measly posts back I was going to quit smoking! I still am! But the fact that I went to go buy my Nicorette gum and it was almost $60.00 totally threw me off. And please don't say I would spend that in cigarettes, because I wouldn't. I spend only $27 on a carton because we live in the middle of tobacco land. So I did a little research and found that Canada and NZ sell the same products that we buy here for almost $60 for less than half that! So, I DID order it online and it should be here in 5-7 days. So, until then I continue to smoke, but I do feel hugely guilty about it :)Onto my favorite subject right now - I hate E.D. - If you don't know who I'm talking about then continue on. If you saw the Showtime feeds last night, or the live feeds, then you will know why. Things To Do When You’re Not Going Back To School
Yesterday was unusally silent around my neighborhood. At first I didn’t notice it too much. The temps here have been in the triple didgets so the days have been absent the sounds of screaming kids. But even the early morning was still outside. Then it hit. From 3:30 until 4:00 the street outside was buzzing as kids of all ages walked from the bus stop to their homes, chattering and laughing and comparing details. That’s when it hit me: school is back in session. Even though I’m not sending my kids off with the rest to school each day there is still something calming about this time of year. Knowing that I can go places without meeting the crowds of families brings a smile to my face. I can go to the store and be greeted with adult cashiers, many of whom have kids of their own and don’t wrinkle their noses at mine. I can sit in my own backyard without being interupted every five minutes by the boys across the street. It’s the little things. And I’m n

99% of everything is now marked, although not organized as I was in the garage with the door down so no looky-loo's would come early and bug me. However, after all is said and done we are soooo not going to make big money. Why? Because I marked everything incredibly cheap! The Barbie Mall that sells for $129 marked $10. A brand new microwave for $15 and a $128 cherry hall table for $20.

      We're not going to Wembley...
Wrenbury, more like! Indeed, it's play-off weekend in London and the Alex are not invited. Most expected a swift return to the Championship after last season's relegation, with the play-offs our safety net. But with a few months still on the clock it was obvious that midtable mediocrity was a good as it was likely to get. So, as it's a footy day, a final footy post until the start of August. Being a memorabilia Muppet I couldn't resist one of the online auctions run by the club and bagged Lee Bell's (now departed, although he'll be training with the club over the summer) matchworn shirt for £25. It's cash into the club coffers and I get a signed shirt for less than the £39 rip-off price they charge at the start of the season. Well, I like to justify it to myself, if not Mrs Crewe blog! Will I ever shed this disease?

What I’m Not Going to Miss
Of course I am sad to be leaving Vero (only three days left!) as they have been a great group of people to work with and for. But since we are all human, it can’t possibly be the case that everything there was 100% perfect, right? Some of you have been writing me asking things like “So come on, what is the real reason you are leaving?” So allow me to re-iterate here that it is nothing at Vero that is pushing me away. That being said though, there is one thing that I noticed the other day that I would not miss as I moved on to my new job. The walk-in. Some of you may remember my earlier account of how I was tasked with re-organizing the walk-in back in February. It was cold work in the middle of winter - the time you don’t want to spend extra time in the cold. (Unlike these warmer summer days where it hits over 100 degrees in the kitchen, and we look for any excuse possible to visit the walk-in for a cool-down. “Who needs more water? Nobody? Well th

Breaking News: Britney Spears Not Going To Ruin The Lakers
Lakers fans, you can breathe a little easier today. It seems that Luke Walton is not going to be dating certain playoff-wrecker and Mother of the Year Britney Spears. From Us Magazine:Britney Spears cleared up any rumors Wednesday that she’s got a crush on Los Angeles Lakers forward Luke Walton, 27, whom the singer had dubbed “cute” in 2004. Spears communicated to inquiring paparazzi that it is her cousin who has the crush on the 6-foot-8 basketballer.Usmagazine.com sources say Spears nodded in agreement when her cousin Alli told photographers that she is the gal with the hots for Walton, and it was she who dragged the recently rehabbed pop star to three Lakers games in just over a week. They also say that Luke already has a girlfriend. So when those celebrity "sleuths" told us the other day that "The pop princess is set to go out on a date with LA Lakers star Luke Walton", what they really meant was, "We have no idea what we are talking about, and we're just going to make sh*t up

Why Agloco is not going to fail
Some people say that AGLOCO will fail because most people won’t make lots of money off of it. The argument says that since it is only a small minority of people who are actively trying to build huge referral networks, only they stand to reap the benefits of AGLOCO membership; the rest won’t make any money and they’ll just stop using the Viewbar altogether, lowering the payout amounts, discouraging others from joining and killing the program’s viability. Or maybe people will get spyware-weary and not download the Viewbar for fear of being monitored. I couldn’t disagree more with these argument, for a number of reasons: It’s a big world out there. Meaning that even if three-quarters of all savvy Internet users out there think that AGLOCO is a scam, the one quarter that doesn’t is still going to sign up - and I bet that one quarter will be more than enough for a decent advertising audience that will definitely draw in some serious cash. AND I'M TELLING YOU I'M NOT GOING… TO HOLLYWOOD
PHOTO FROM TMZ.COM So if you watched the American Idol auditions from San Antonio last night, you should recognize these two. The guy, whose name is Akron Watson, was told by Simon that he lacks personality, and the judges disliked the girl’s (whose name is Ashlyn Carr) facial expressions. Well it turns out both have records. Watson was ousted just days before the Hollywood round of competition, after it was discovered he had been arrested for marijuanna possession in 2003. From my understanding, Carr is still in the competition, but it was discovered she had been previously been arrested for pouring sugar into the gas tank of her former boyfriend’s car. If only I could get a full eight hours of sleep all at once... I thought as I drifted off.At 1:30 am, I was startled awake by a loud noise. Must have been the newspaper banging against the outside of the front door...Two minutes passed. Four minutes. Seven minutes. 1:43 am.Bang, bang bang! From somewhere just outside the house.
