Ben S. Bernanke, chairman of the Federal Reserve, acknowledged on Thursday that a “fresh wave of investor concern” had led to tougher credit conditions that posed new risks to the economy, reinforcing the view that the Fed is likely to cut interest rates again, when it meets on Dec. 11.
Speaking one day after another top Fed official signaled that policy makers might have to reduce interest rates to head off trouble, Mr. Bernanke pledged that the Fed would remain “exceptionally alert and flexible” in setting policy.
“Needless to say, the Federal Reserve is following the evolution of financial conditions carefully, with particular attention to the question of how strains in financial markets might affect the broader economy,” he said.
Mr. Bernanke’s comments backed up those on Wednesday by Donald L. Kohn, the Fed’s vice chairman, who said that the economy might face bigger problems than the central bank had expected and that policy makers would have to be “nimble.” T

Star Trek Legacy is a space combat simulator. It has a single player campaign mode, a skirmish and multiplayer mode (correct me if i’m wrong).
Graphically the game is adequate. The ships are well rendered and receive battle damage as the game progresses. The many planets and nebula are also well rendered. No praise at all here, it looks “OK” nothing more.
The single player campaign consists of flying from one planet or asteroid belt to another and scanning aimlessly. Usually a cut scene comes along to present the next fight….which brings me on to the combat……there is none. Yesterday was unusally silent around my neighborhood. At first I didn’t notice it too much. The temps here have been in the triple didgets so the days have been absent the sounds of screaming kids. From 3:30 until 4:00 the street outside was buzzing as kids of all ages walked from the bus stop to their homes, chattering and laughing and comparing details. Even though I’m not sending my kids off with the rest to school each day there is still something calming about this time of year. Most expected a swift return to the Championship after last season's relegation, with the play-offs our safety net. Being a memorabilia Muppet I couldn't resist one of the online auctions run by the club and bagged Lee Bell's (now departed, although he'll be training with the club over the summer) matchworn shirt for £25. It's cash into the club coffers and I get a signed shirt for less than the £39 rip-off price they charge at the start of the season. Well, I like to justify it to myself, if not Mrs Crewe blog! Will I ever shed this disease?
Of course I am sad to be leaving Vero (only three days left!) as they have been a great group of people to work with and for. But since we are all human, it can’t possibly be the case that everything there was 100% perfect, right? Some of you have been writing me asking things like “So come on, what is the real reason you are leaving?” So allow me to re-iterate here that it is nothing at Vero that is pushing me away.

My lovely, darling, always sunshine of a daughter recently became opinionated. There are activities she likes and those she most certainly does not. She loves kicking the soccer ball, loves watching Dora, loves going shopping. She hates eating broccoli, she hates taking a nap, she hates brushing her teeth. We do all of these activities regardless of her passion for or against each one, however, she is more than welcome to voice her opinion. We listen. We nod. Then we make her do it anyway............

Some people say that AGLOCO will fail because most people won’t make lots of money off of it. The argument says that since it is only a small minority of people who are actively trying to build huge referral networks, only they stand to reap the benefits of AGLOCO membership; the rest won’t make any money and they’ll just stop using the Viewbar altogether, lowering the payout amounts, discouraging others from joining and killing the program’s viability. Or maybe people will get spyware-weary and not download the Viewbar for fear of being monitored.
I couldn’t disagree more with these argument, for a number of reasons:
It’s a big world out there. Meaning that even if three-quarters of all savvy Internet users out there think that AGLOCO is a scam, the one quarter that doesn’t is still going to sign up - and I bet that one quarter will be more than enough for a decent advertising audience that will definitely draw in some serious cash. So if you watched the American Idol auditions from San Antonio last night, you should recognize these two. The guy, whose name is Akron Watson, was told by Simon that he lacks personality, and the judges disliked the girl’s (whose name is Ashlyn Carr) facial expressions. Well it turns out both have records. Watson was ousted just days before the Hollywood round of competition, after it was discovered he had been arrested for marijuanna possession in 2003. From my understanding, Carr is still in the competition, but it was discovered she had been previously been arrested for pouring sugar into the gas tank of her former boyfriend’s car.
