I enjoyed all of the Oscar nominated films. Two of the five, No Country for Old Men and There Will be Blood are heavy, brilliant films, but ultimately nihilistic and cynical. Still, up until their depressing ends, I'll give them the first two spots. Michael Clayton is of similar mass- not as compelling throughout- but with a "just" ending. Here is my "pocket" opinion. I know the Emmy Nominations have been announced for a while, but this has been bugging me ever since, so I decided to write a post about it. People have let out their disappointment that Connie Britton and Kyle Chandler weren’t nominated as well as Friday Night Lights, and although I think they really deserved a nomination too, I personally was even more surprised that Evangeline Lilly wasn’t nominated. As I was watching Lost this season, I couldn’t help but think this was Evangeline Lilly’s year. Throughout the seasons, Evangeline Lilly has grown in the part of Kate and I always thought she was a really good actress, but I have to say this season she was absolutely phenomenal. She took her acting to a whole new level and I could not take my eyes off her. Tonight's Big Brother was full of surprises. The hand of fate allowed Jameka to opportunity to compete in the Power of Veto competition and she used fate and divine intervention as an excuse to play hard, win and veto Jen off the Block. I must say it was an impressive move on Jameka's part and an expensive one.As a part of the POV competition, the guests were awarded "Big Brother Dollars" that they had an option to spend for prizes instead of hoarding them to try to win the POV competition.Dustin walked away with both prizes when Jameka refused to spend hers to opt for $5,000 cash. It appears that Jameka may be planning a powerful run at the end with Jen and I doubt her alliance will fail to notice that they have a traitor in their midst. I highly doubt that many of them believed that it was God's will for Jameka to win and veto Jen so as soon as they have time to do the math, Jameka may wind up in trouble.Jen seemed to throw the competition, but that really didn't make any sen

We were pleased to receive a mail in our inbox today to inform us that Thoughts from the Sidelines has made Red Orbit’s Blog of the Day spot. Of course this comes having already received a glowing write up on Cup of Tech and only a few months after Maxim Magazine featured a post inspired by TFTS which got us a link published in the magazine, and TFTS being featured on RocketBoom. And to think that we’re not even a year old yet – though our first anniversary is just around the corner. Interestingly, this latest accolade could not have come at a better time as we (meaning me, myself and I) are working flat out redoing every single image featured in every single post so as to fit in with the new design – no small task as we have well over 700 posts many of which have multiple images. And what qualifications does the good doctor have that says he’s the best candidate for the job? He and his wife are the founders of an anti-gay group that declares being homosexual a “lifestyle choice” that one can walk away from with the help of their “re-education” program. Such conversion type programs have been soundly repudiated by major medical associations including the American Psychological Association for years.
