Can PR actually help me with anything at all if I am not

Choosing The Right Fishing Lure Is No Easy Matter
Walk into any tackle shop and you can find a single lure model in mind numbing array of shades and patterns. It might be said of any true fisherman that at heart they are "simple men". Given the choice most fishermen would wish that life and fishing were simple, cut and clear. However as in life, picking lures is never that simple. If it was everyone on the water, everyone on the lake would be the "king fisherman". There are just too many things that can change when it comes to fishing and the fishing gods. However if can be said that there are some simple basics and basic principles to consider when choosing your lures for a good day or weekend with your buddies fishing on the lake. First and foremost it's the action of the lure that counts. Lures move and attract fish - hopefully big one

      Does the Genre Tag Matter?
I recently came upon an article featuring Michael Chabon and Jeffrey Ford in which both authors gave some reasons as to why tagging fiction with certain genre tags isn't really that important. Chabon states that, "the people it matters the least to are the ones who are doing it. In so many other artistic mediums, it's not weird at all." This got me thinking about whether or not tagging novels within certain genres really matters and I'll send the question in the direction of the reader as well. To me it seems like this is a difficult question to answer. To a certain extent the genre tags are important. They help book stores figure out where to put things and are great for categorizing in libraries and online. I think the question applies, however, to the growing number of works that

      Does 1% Really Matter?
When it comes to investing and your portfolio does 1% really matter? If you are paying an MER of 2.5% instead of 1.5% is it a big deal? What about if your portfolio returns 7% instead of 9%?If your investment horizon is between 1 and 2 years than a couple percent really doesn’t matter. Your portfolio won’t be affected in any meaningfully way. However, if you are a long term investor 1 or 2% certainly does matter and will have a huge impact on your total portfolio return. I created the below chart to illustrates just how much difference 1 or 2 percent can make. The chart makes the following assumptions:1. Initial investment of $10,000 in year 1.2. No additional contributions.3. Interest compounded annually.4. All interest is reinvested. So although it may seem petty to be wasting time an

So They Lost, Does It Really Matter
The Philadelphia 76'ers finally fell tonight to the Detroit Pistons. Let me go out on a limb right now and pick the Orlando Magic over the Pistons in Round 2 of the Eastern Conference. Were the Pistons the better team versus the 76'ers? Absolutely. Does that really mean anything? Not a chance. Why did the Pistons win? 2 reasons. (1) The Sixers have zero 3-point shooters. (2) The Sixers were not able to match up against Rasheed Wallace and Rip Hamilton. So what does this really mean? It means (A) The Sixers have a bright future (B) The Pistons will have their hands full against the Magic, much less against the Celtics (Hawks permitting). The Magic have the players to match up against the Pistons. Even more so, do the Celtics. The Pistons are aging notably and although their bench is young, t

Why It Doesn't Matter What The Federal Reserve Does Today
The Federal Open Market Committee adjourns from its two-day meeting at 2:15 P.M. ET today.  Markets expect the Fed to lower the Fed Funds Rate by 0.250 percent in its press release but it's not what the Fed does that matters to economy right now.  It's what the Fed says. If the Fed states that future rate cuts are needed to stabilize the economy, mortgage rates should rise because rate cuts tend to create inflation.  Inflation is the enemy of mortgage rates. By contrast, if the Fed states that it will "pause" before making additional rate cuts (or hikes), mortgage rates should fall. We'll dissect the message in full late this afternoon but the most important message to remember is this: The Federal Reserve does not directly control mortgage rates.  The Fed only cont

It is the truth, but I love to see the expression on peoples faces when I say this. When the fact is, they are also looking at the large SUV and hoping I would say we could not give them away. That was VERY strange! As I am typing this article, I hear the news say GM is laying 3500 workers off due to low sells of Large Trucks and SUV's! The entire brain was found to be larger in patients who had not experienced any cognitive impairment. In particular, the hippocampus, a part of the forebrain in the medial temporal lobe that plays a major role in long term memory, has been discovered to be larger in size for those patients with no cognitive impairments. Most surprising, those in both categories had plaques and tangles in the brain as found in typical Alzheimer patients. The study consisted of 12 patients who did not have Alzheimer's

      A Matter of Perspective
As we were eating dinner, I nonchalantly asked daughter # 4 her grades for the last tri-mester. She was in school to get her classcards.Oh, I got an average of 3.9 mom (4.00 being the highest). She made the first honors list again. Considering her double-degree course, thesis #1 that she submitted, thesis #2 that is in the drawing board, her extra-curricular activities and her regular load in school, I would say that was quite a feat.As we were laughing and being happy with #4's academic honors, son came in ready to sit down for dinner too.Son: So why is everybody laughing?Me:There's really nothing to laugh about.#3: We're just sort of giggly because sister here has a GPA of 3.9.Me: That is almost 4.00!#2: Almost perfect!Son: Big deal. I got a 4.00 in Math 17.Note: Philippine universities

Using Cleansing Skin Care Product - A Matter Of Importance
If you want younger, healthier and more beautiful looking skin then you must start by using proper skin care. Getting started at an early age is best but starting, even if you think it's too late, is a must. Your first step is to find the right cleansing skin care product to match your skin type. Finding Your Skin Type If you want to know your skintype, just use this little trick. Get a little piece of toilet paper and place it on your forehead. If it stays stuck your skin type is oily. If the piece of paper falls off straight away, you have dry skin and if it stays there for around a minute but then falls off you probably have normal skin. It can be quite over whelming when you step into the skin care section at your local store and get several cleansing skin care products all bidding for

Mexican, Hispanic, Latino: Does it Matter?
Some people may argue that saying Mexican, Hispanic or Latino doesn't matter, while others say that it does matter. So which is right or wrong? In my own experience with Mexicans, Hondurans, Cubans and Puerto Ricans ... it matters. Today a friend, Mrs. Nava, that I've blogged about before called me up and we talked about what she says when she tells someone that her husband is Mexican. Mrs.

Mrs. Nava said that she answers one of two ways, "My husband is Hispanic" or "My husband is Mexican".She admits that her husband would rather her say, "My husband is Mexican".So this afternoon when the Mexican came home from work I asked him what I should say if someone asks about his nationality. Should I say, "My husband is Mexican" or "My husband is Hispanic" and last but not least, "My husband is Latino".H

Satisfactory Sex Can Be Achieved In A Matter Of Minutes
Survey findings released this week dispel the commonly held fantasy that satisfactory sex requires a significant time commitment. The survey, conducted at Penn State by the Society for Sex Therapy and Research, revealed that satisfactory sex for couples typically lasts 3 to 13 minutes. Movies, television, books and the internet have convinced many couples that if they aren’t having sex “all night long:” their sexual life is in the pits and they are missing out on something significant. The survey included information garnered from psychologists, physicians, social workers, marriage/family therapists and nurses who have collectively seen thousands of patients over a period of several decades. According to the survey data, 3-7 minutes of intercourse is categorized as “adequate,” 7-1

      Only a matter of time
Hamas versus Fatah, Al Aqsa versus Fatah. Fatah versus Fatah. These are fights that we have become used to reading about. Now there are stories of individual Israelis that have started to take matters into their own hands. It was only a matter of time before this started. Now, it isn't at a level that the Knesset has to worry about yet but I am sure they are keeping these actions in their sight.

Sell Services That Matter To People
The 5 Fundamental Benefits of Helping For any business to be successful, the people inside the business must understand why people would want their products or services. Understanding the 5 reasons people ask for help, and the 5 corresponding benefits they receive is critical to understanding what type of help you should offer. I was brought up in a very small town where we learned to do most things for ourselves. My father seemed able to fix anything that broke, and build anything we needed. We tuned our own bicycles, replaced engines in our cars, we even built onto our house and added a garage. I learned that it was good to be able to do things for yourself. I feel very fortunate to have learned how to do so many things for myself from my dad. What took me a little longer to figure out

When this happens, they seek out fellow socialist sycophants and they feel beter about themselves. It is people like these that will be the death of us all because they have such a lethal case of BDS they cannot accept Truth or Fact. So sad to be so lacking in the ability to comprehend the enemies we face and have faced since the early 1970s. The cowards think as these blow hards do.What they cannot accept that is that Egypt and Saudi Arabia play a big part in the complications for the Caliphate to be reinstated. The main issues is that the US and other "democratic" societies stand in the way of the Islamic Caliphate. That is the only

Am I divorced Or just single does it matter
I’ve spent my entire adult life filling out forms. From doing grocery-store club cards to driver’s-license renewals to doctor-office intakes, I’ve become a pro at completing those small spaces with my perfect block handwriting: Middle Initial—G, Hair Color—Red, Allergies—Penicillin. But it wasn’t until after my divorce that I noticed something very peculiar as I sat in a new doctor’s waiting room with a clipboard in my lap. The form asked for my marital status, and I had the option of checking off “single,” “married” or “divorced.” Of course, I’m sure those options had been on many forms I’ve seen over the years, but as a newly divorced woman, suddenly they caught my eye. As I sat with my pen h

He is the founding director of the Centre for Ecoliteracy in Berkeley, California. He spoke with Swati Chopra: How did you come upon the metaphor of the dance of Shiva for quantum particles, used so vividly in The Tao of Physics? I had a profound experience sitting at a beach in California, where the boundaries faded away and I belonged to this larger whole, a cosmos which was dynamic, alive, and in motion in a patterned order of a dance. I was a particle physicist and knew what was going on around me in terms of patterns and molecules, and i had also read of the dance of Shiva. I put the two t

I have always wondered how we all are capable of locking down our hearts with so many hidden feelings. Our unsaid thoughts, our untouched cravings, and our undisclosed likings…….where do they lie? In our heart, the safest place in this world! Yes we have understanding and loving parents, yes we have darling and caring husband, yes we have lovely and innocent children, yes we have the sweetest grandchildren…..but yes we have desires untold too.The secrets are too tiny and insignificant…but yes there are, and there are many. Some are everyday secrets, some rare once and some once in a lifetime kind of secret

Daily Encounter ... What Will Matter [Monday, March 31, 2008]
Excellent Christian Website Monday, March 31, 2008 1. What Will Matter Jesus said, "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."1 Today's Daily Encounter is by Michael Josephson of Character Counts (390.3). Ready or not, some day it will all come to an end. There will be no more sunrises, no minutes, hours or days. All the things you collected, whether treasured or forgotten, will pass to someone else. Your wealth, fame and temporal power will shrivel to irrelevance. It will not matter what you owned or what you were owed
