Yesterday only my girlfriend told me how much she liked people who are good at maths, unfortunately she is also as weak as I am. Here are some tips I found worth sharing to improve your mathematics and reason ability. 1. If You Hate Mathematics, Don’t! Like all subjects, you cannot master Mathematics if you already hate it. But I really hate it! some students may say. To these students, we ask you, How many days do you get by without using Mathematics in your lives? Each morning when you wake up, you look at your clock or watch to read the time. You probably learn how to read clocks from your Mathematics teacher in Primary 1 or 2. You reach the bus stop and prepare your bus-fare. During recess time, you go to the canteen

It is important to read over the material in your math text book. Don’t just focus on your homework problems. 5. Take notes from lectures, writing them neatly. CBSE Papers : Reasons of Maths Anxiety
Mathematics as a subject is perceived to be difficult, obscure and are only meant for the supremely intelligent. It is almost as though it is normal that one is afraid of math or is no good at the subject. Often, this perception causes people to suffer from math anxiety. Anxiety is stress, tension, and strain on one’s body and mind. Anxiety can be broken down into two types: Somatic or the loss control of body. Some symptoms are sweaty palms, pain in neck or sick to the stomach. The other is Cognitive or loss of concentration. Its symptoms include negative self-talk, feelings of doubt, or mind wanders from test or tasks. Many students might say that anxiety in class inhibits them or reduces their ability to perform well. In the case of mathematics, they would be correct. Psychological researches have somehow ascertained that math anxiety causes students of all levels to perform poorly in math. For some students, trouble in math is driven by problems with language. These children may

      Film to celebrate maths genius
Ramanujan was a mathematical geniusBritish director Stephen Fry and India's Dev Benegal are to make a film about an Indian mathematician whose ideas underpin the digital revolution. Srinavasa Ramanujan, a poor college dropout who died aged 33, ended up at Cambridge in the early 1900s and was acknowledged as a mathematical genius. The joint production will look at his relationship with Cambridge don GH Hardy who "discovered" him. The film will begin shooting next year in Tamil Nadu state and Cambridge. A "major American or British star" will play the cricket-loving Hardy, whose stamp of approval took Ramanujan to Cambridge University in 1914, Benegal told the BBC. He said he and Fry would be looking for a "terrific Indian actor" to play Ramanujan. "It won't be [Bollywood stars like] Amir Khan or Shah Rukh Khan surely. I am sure we will find the right actor," he said. 'Man who knew infinity' The multi-million dollar film will be shot in Erode (where Ramanujan was born) and Kumbakonam

The Maths Show by Mr Divesh R. Shah
I yahooed my name today and was quite surprised that my name appeared in a page, it's linked to MediaCorp Singapore website. Puzzled. Wonder how I got there, but the link is broken already. At 2.30pm I reached Farrer Road to have lunch prior to meeting Mr Divesh. I dined at this restaurant called Bamboo Residence. The ambience was alright. A comfortable dining place situated among HDB buildings.Mr Divesh R. Shah, the creator of "The Maths Show" (http://www.mathsshow.com) came to Singapore upon invitation by government schools to give a short lesson on mental Maths to students. I met him after his lecture in St Margaret's Secondary School. He is an energetic man. He speaks with enthusiasm and easily connects with others. Through readings and people he encountered, he came out with his own formula of mental Mathematics and methods to simplify and make Mathematics interesting to students. In India (his homeground), he operates a tuition business which deals with tuition centres and tuitio

      VEDIC MATHS:- QUERY SOLVING
hey friends..one of our regular readers asked us a question about some trick which can help in subtracting a number from the base number.we are sorry for the delay in solving that query but that happened coz i was busy in my exams.here is a trick which i think could be helpful...step 1:- take the number you need to subtract from base number(it will surely be near that number. i mean if you have 22 your base will be 100 or if its 760 then it might be 1000)step 2:- subtract the units digit from 10, and remaining digits from 9 of the number you need to subtract from the base.and thats it... :)isnt it really simplelets see it with an exampleyou want to subtract 638 from 1000 so what will you do....6---3---8 (subtract from)!----!----!9---9---10 ------------3---6---2 is the answer------------you can subtract any number from base number with this trickand one more thing friendswe will provide the link for OG-11 today with in 2 hoursthe file is in uploading processlet us now if

VADIC MATHS - LESSON NUMBER TWO.
after learning how to square a number ending with 5 now we will do something called comman base method.this method is a technique of multiplying number which comes under same base.this base could be anything like-10-100-1000 etc.to multiply two numbers we just need to make them subtracted or added to a comman base.lets do an example.MULTIPLY 99 X 92step 1:-MAKE COMMAN BASEhere the base is 100. (coz while setting the base we should keep in mind that the base should be closest to the numbers to make sure that the minimum calcultaions will be required.step 2:-SUBTRACT THE NUMBERS FROM THE BASE AND WRITE THEM IN THE ORDER.100- 99 = 01100- 92 = 08(we write the number we get after subtraction in as many digits as many zeros we have in the base, here we have 2 zeros in 100)AND YOU HAVE TO WRITE THESE IN THE FOLLOWING SEQUENCE99 01X !92 08----------91 08 = 9108 is the answerthis 91 we get my subtracting (92-01) or (99-08) cross digitsand 08 we get by multipling the straight line of the digits

      VADIC MATHS - FIRST LESSON
after getting a good response about vadic maths here is the very first lesson about this. before starting let me tell you again that its not gona be a cup of tea but yes, we can do this all together.keeping in mind that "practice makes a man perfect and writting makes a man exact"we will start our very first lesson.ok the very first thing we will discuss is squaring a number ending with 5ok let begin with this (you must be knowing that 5 square is 25 ) ;) step one: take a number ending with 5.say, 45.step two: write the ten's and unit's number 25 without thinking much.so you have xxxxx25 (doesnt matter how many digits before 25)step three: take the remaining number before 5 from the original numberin this case its 4step four: add 1 to this number(step 3) and multiply the number with the number of step three.means (4+1) X 4 = 20 step 5 : simply put this number(step 4) in front of step 2's 25means 20 25and thats your answer 2025you dont even need a calculator.now we will

      QUANT! ---- VADIC MATHS.
hey pals!hope your prepration is going well....we will discuss something about quant now.after a detailed discussions with my professors and other lecturers of quant i got some good knowledge which i would like to share with you.first of all lets discuss why they actually want us to know quant?- actually quant is the section which is segmented to test the aplicant's mental abilities to deal with figures.you would be wondering like me about why they actually give so much importance to verbal calcultations (we have pcs, calculators and hell lot of equipments) but the answer is somewhat justified.they want us to show how fast we are in playing with figures. the professor i talked about all this told me that you have to have a compatibility with figures because while reading company reports (some times from xx to xxx pages) and full of ratios and data figures, calculators and pcs become obsolete and mental abilities makes all the difference. they told me that the thin line between a good
