      Can stock market crash again?
There are only few measures to prevent the type of crash that occurred in the stock market in the year 1929 or in 1987. The biggest question is can their be another crash? Or will the measures adopted really work? No one knows the answers for sure, but it is reasonable to assume that many people in this industry are working everyday to make sure that the disaster is not repeated again. The stock market crash in the year 2000-2002 was quite painful, but if you think it was big enough, see the list of the ten worst crashes. It barely made to the list of the ten worst markets crashes in U.S. history. How I'm Playing The Market Crash
The market is crashing, the market is crashing! Hardly. We're down a little bit off the highs--the media just likes to inflate the importance of each and every move. After all, the major indexes are all still positive on the year! I think it gets a whole lot worse, but that's just my cynical view--I won't put any money on it because I've learned from the thousands of bankrupt bears. So, what am I doing in this market environment?Nothing. As much as I'd like t

Links 8/10: Market Crash, Utah Miners, Obama Fundraising, Shrinking Ice Caps, Dems on Gays, Giuliani Bashing, Hillary on the Planet
The Suits are having a stressful week. Global financial markets have been falling dramatically since yesterday, following the decision of France’s largest publicly-owned bank to freeze some of its funds with exposure to the US housing credit market, as well as the announcement Thursday of a major US mortgage firm that an increase in homeowner defaults caused its $50 million losses for the second-quarter. The scare sparked panic among banks and their investors whose investments face similar exposure, raising many governments’ fears of a global “credit crunch” in which banks reign in credit lines to one another. Virtually all US, European, and Asian markets have suffered losses, prompting central banks in many countries to intervene with extra cash to calm these markets. A narrow drill has reached the void where those Utah miners are trapped, but offers no indication that they are alive. Boston Globe on the Hillary v Obama argument over how their campaigns

Will the real estate market crash?
Given the mountain of data out there showing that delinquencies are up, prices and down and inventory piling up like snow in winter, I thought that answer would be obvious. However, I am wrong. The guy in this clip tells me that while prices might fluctuate a little, the market won't crash.I am going to say something really hurtful about this guy; he looks like a realtor.
