I just love it when I’ve worked for the past fifteen minutes on a post, I hit the Publish button and… crap! I get a WordPress error explaining that it cannot reach my database. That’s just brilliant. I have a hosted web service through 1 and 1 and they are usually very good about keeping things up and running. I was about to give them a call when I noticed my DB pings finally went through. So whatever the issue was they were aware of it and got it back up and running within just a few minutes. This post is a plea to anyone out there who has had problems with sensor malfunctions in Viking sewing machines, or anyone with advice for me.

I have a VIking Scan 400 (aka Rose) that I have loved, EXCEPT for the finicky thread sensor. If the machine thinks you're out of thread, it will beep and a thread sensor thingy will flash, and the machine will stop running. It always has been quick to respond, and it's a useful sensor-- if your thread has broken or run out, or if the top thread is tangled, it will stop the machine so you can fix it.
Now, though, for AT LEAST the fourth time, it is going off nonsensically. Just stops all sewing for me and flashes, even though all is well.
