A light bulb is hanging in the first floor of the room. There are three switches in the ground floor room. One of these switches belongs to that light bulb. The light bulb is not lit and the switches are in off state. There is only one chance to visit the room. How can it be determined which of these switch is connected to the light bulb.
The light bulb is an invention of Thomas Alva Edison, which is one of the greatest contribution to the modern world. We commonly see this item all the time bearing a spherical-cone shape, however a concept design by Korean designer Joonhuyn Kim could change the shape of light bulbs forever.

We decided to go shopping for a new lamp for the room in our house that I refer to as the den, but that my better half calls his man cave. We want the room to be lit as dimly and softly as possible, and all the lamps we own produce light that’s too harsh and glaring for the desired atmosphere in the den/man cave. We wanted more of a glowing effect than anything actually utilitarian; relatively i
Justice Antonin Scalia's wit is widely admired, and now it has been quantified. He is, a new study concludes, 19 times as funny as Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Transcripts of oral arguments at the United States Supreme Court have long featured the notation "[laughter]" after a successful quip from a justice or lawyer. But until October 2004, justices were not identified by name, making it i

How many economists does it take to screw in a light bulb?
None. If the light bulb really needed changing, market forces would have already caused it to happen.

How many Borg does it take to change a light bulb?
1) Changing light bulbs is futile. Resistance is voltage divided by current.2) None. They just self-destruct the malfunctioning equipment.3) All of them.
Some times luck or an accident can create the next breakthrough in science and change our life’s. A guy in Brazil took an empty plastic bottle, filled it with water and a bit of Clorox (Bleach) and left it under the sun. The sun caused a chemical reaction to the compound and the bottle turned [...]

LIVERMORE, Calif.,– A 107-year-old light bulb in California has been deemed by Guinness World Records and Ripley’s Believe It Or Not as the word’s longest-ever burning bulb.
The low-watt rarity has been burning nonstop in the Livermore, Calif., Station No. 6 firehouse since 1901, the Los Angles Times reported Monday.

Michele Backmann, Republican from Minnesota, finally brought some sanity into Congress. In 2011, the Edison Light Bulb will be banned due to environmentalist lunatics taking over Washington. Many of us know that this is a terrible idea because: 1) We could all stop using Light Bulbs entirely and it would not change the temperature of the Earth; and 2) Al Gore's light bulbs have mercury in them....

The question: "How does the heat from a light bulb reach my hand through the air? I would like to know if heat from a light bulb reaches my hand through the air using radiation, conduction, convection or a combiantion of those mechanisms. I can think of a few answers: * A. Conduction from the filament to other parts of the bulb followed by convection through the air. * B. Radiation from the filament through the vacuum, followed by conduction through the glass followed by convection through the air. * C. Radiation from the filament through the vacuum, glass and air. * D. Combinaton of the above or somthing else (in this case which effect is the strongest?)"The answer is "D": a combination of the first three, with "C" usually being the predominant way in which heat reaches your h

Al Gore was recently quoted saying, “There's an African proverb that says, ‘If you want to go quick, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.’ We have to go far quickly.” Well, by now the African people are thinking that Al Gore and his environmentalist lunatics can “Go f&%$ themselves.” It makes me sick to my stomach to think of the arrogance and ignorant condescension instilled in liberal elitists like Al Gore. In his latest scare tactic rhetoric he also spouted, “Worldwide atmospheric carbon has jumped from 280 to 383 parts per million in the last century; the polar icecaps are melting three times faster than anyone's direst prediction; China is on the verge of surpassing the United States for greenhouse gas emissions; bark beetles and wildfires are sweeping across Western forests; temperatures are climbing, sea levels rising, glaciers vanishing. By some estimates, humans must pull 30 gigatons of carbon from the atmosphere to have a shot at reversing such e
These are really great, I love them. As first glance it looks as if the lamp has fallen over and melted into the floor. It is really realistic and unless you actually go over and have a look at it, then you can see how it is made and that the melted bulb is part of the light fixing itself.
Made from a hard rubber type material, which mean there is less chance of the lamp being damaged if knocked or dropped. But by looking at, that probably would not even make any difference to the overall effect.
There are quite a few versions of lights like these, with varying models in different sorts of eye bending arrangements

You may be wondering exactly why a light bulb is listed as a gadget, well it may have the appearance of a humble light bulb, and in fact it does actually illuminate to a certain extent, but this device is also a sophisticated time piece.
On one you have the light, and the other side has an LCD display, which shows the current time, date and temperature. Powered by battery, you will also get a really great light show from the LED which runs through a color cycle with a variety of colors that could be nice and relaxing.
The colorful light bulb is priced at $12.

It is not a digitally enhanced photo or any kind of trick. It is an electromagnetically levitated light bulb that is wirelessly powered. This is a revised version of earlier work. This bulb now operates at much higher wireless transfer efficiency which is brighter for less expended energy and levitates at roughly 2.5" from the nearest object.Using those weird magnets, it's able to hang there in space. Apparently, there are electromagnets inside the bulb that repel those magnets on the ceiling and floor of this installation. This piece will be shown at Sonar in Barcelona, June 14-16.More related:Asahi Robocco BeerBot Hard Drive Desk ClockMicrosoft Zune on hold in EuropeWebble - Foot Rest Disney iRiver Mplayer Laser Scissors Bibliochaise Armchair Library Fujitsu Fab PC Laptop Availabot Stands When Your Chat Buddy Online World First "light energy" Handphone Car Wheel Alarm Clock World biggest remoteTurn a 3G Smartphone into a Wireless ModemTransformers Changing Cupboard Future CarHummer (W
Several brainiacs or should I say researchers at MIT have figured out how to make a 60-watt light bulb glow by sending energy wirelessly 7 feet away from the power-generating device. As a result, it is very possible that cell phones and other gadgets will be recharged without being plugged in. Maybe the technology can be applied to recharging electric vehicles as well. The breakthrough technology first introduced in Science Express is being called "WiTricity" by the scientists. One major benefit to this new technology is that batteries may not be needed with their toxic chemicals. Additionally all those power cables will be a thing of the pass. However, the technology is way off from going mainstream. The technology is about 40-45 percent efficient because electromagnetic energy generated by the charging device would radiate in all directions. As a result, most of the energy from the charging device doesn't make it to the light bulb.
There are many reasons for having a light bulb on a key ring, but how would you power it up? Of course the mini light bulb has its own power source and is in reality a light in the shape of a light bulb, quite interesting though.
It is a small LED that makes the light bulb light up and look very real, and bright, but it is made of acrylic, and not glass.

Happy Earth Day!
Inspired by the desire to prevent our societies from succumbing to global warming, I decided to take action this weekend. I was reviewing the Earth Day website to see if there would be any large gatherings on The Mall today, and pledged myself to Project Switch. The goal is to spur the widespread adoption of compact fluorescent lamps (CFL’s) which are more efficient, and longer lasting, than incandescent light bulbs.
Initially, I intended to head to Target or Home Depot, however their websites didn’t reflect much in the way of selection. I only have two floor lamps, and prefer to keep the 3-way lighting capability of my current bulbs. A quick Google search on the Internet turned up Energy Federation Incorporated’s Consumer Division Online Store, complete with an array of compact fluorescent lamps, including two types of 3-way bulbs.
I ordered two Feit 3-way Ecobulb Twists at $9.95 each. Including shipping, the cost totaled about $25 - about five

How replacing a light bulb without break it? Yes, he broke not the light bulb, but the place where you attach the light bulb... My guess: He was trying something romantic, you know, why do you need a light in your kitchen when you can have candles?
It's ok to cook during day, but, you know, during night it isn't easy, and when I say night, I mean 6pm, because our days are shorter now, as winter is coming!
So, before change your light bulb, watch this "replacing a light bulb video" and find out how to do it without break anything!
